What a lovely informative video, thank you 🙂 When my parents lived in Farleigh Hungerford we would go to a candle-lit carol service in the chapel, it was magical The crypt still scares me! Hungerford bridge in London is named after the Hungerford family, as they owned a house on the site of Charing Cross station.
I have to say that this is not one of my favorite places! I did enjoy spending time with you but this place is too dark for me! Thank you for showing it all to us!
@walkingthewyrd I'm near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I can drive 20 minutes and be in the mountains. I love living here. If you ever get to visit, I wouldn't recommend winter. We frequently measure snow in FEET.😂
@jodimusicherself oh wow! That sounds absolutely beautiful! We don't get much snow here anymore, our winters are so mild and just wet, grey, and ugh! 😄
I live in Somerset and I am embarassed to say I have never been to Farleigh Hungerford - so thanks for making me feel guilty ;-) (joke!) but also making an informative and interesting video as always 🙂
@NewHeathen wait...you LIVE in Somerset, and have never been to Farleigh Hungerford?! I'm not angry, just disappointed 😁 In all seriousness, I highly recommend an explore 😄 Thanks for watching!
The story in the crypt was horrifying! You think you can't possibly hear another story worse than what you already know of human depravity and then you hear this. Uurgghh! Lovely ruined castle though.
If the foundations are anything to go by the castle must have been impressive in its day and the chapel interior is so beautiful. Those Victorians really were game for anything maniacs. If ever a castle was cursed it's definitely that one with all the nefarious activities!...and that's the first time I've heard anyone use the B word on youtube!😆
Once again a beautiful and interesting walk, but I prefer a drink from a glass than from a coffin, although tequila with a worm is also drunk, no, I'd rather not. 💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻
Having watched & enjoyed the video, I am prepared to concede that there may be other ruined castles that have less associations with "treachery, infidelity, sorcery, wrongful imprisonment, murder and deceit!" But come on this is english history we are talking about. I wonder if anyone has done a top ten on the subject? Bye!
What shenanigans - Drinking alcohol infused bodily fluids and acts of buggery! 🥴🫣😆 Thanks for another excellent episode Nicola. As you know I really like and appreciate what you do. I love history and I genuinely enjoy your take on the history and folklore of the places you visit. Until next time, look after yourself.🙂
I’m a fairley in the US and just discovered this part of my ancestry. Amazing to see videos made about my family back in the day!
Fascinating place, I've been there once, (nearly twenty years ago). Still looks the same. Thanks for refreshing the memory 😃
I'm glad it hasn't changed too much since your last visit! Thanks for watching, Phillip!
I think I'll give the corpse-infused tequila a miss 🤢 Fab video Nic!! Looks like you had gorgeous weather for it 😍🖤
Chin chin! 🥂 😆 Thanks for watching, lovely!
It's gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. The scenery is stunning. I wish one day to make it to the UK.
I think you'd love it, Julie! So many incredible places like this here. Thanks for watching.

It was a wonderful day! Thank you for watching, Kate. Always appreciated.
Great vid once again. The castle looks like a real gem, another one to add to the to do list.
Definitely worth an explore! Thank you for watching!
An interesting place indeed. Great video.
Thank you, Lee! Much appreciated!
I’m batch watching your videos, you have the perfect voice for describing the history associated with these old places, great videos.
Thank you! Very kind. 😊
What a beautiful Castle, did it feel dark or spooky Nick ? Xx
Not really. The crypt felt kinda spooky, but I think that's just psychological knowing that there's bodies down there. Great place to explore!

Gosh, that candle-lit carol service sounds wonderful! The crypt is not a nice place to be, I agree! Thank you very much for watching 🙂
I have to say that this is not one of my favorite places! I did enjoy spending time with you but this place is too dark for me! Thank you for showing it all to us!

It's utterly grim! But yes, the castle ruins are fabulous! Thanks for watching!

😂ah don't be sorry, I'm just glad I didn't have a hot cuppa tea against my lips 🤣
@david_v2.1 oh my god, this comment cracked me up 🤣🤣🤣
😆

I'm with you there! 😄 Those Victorians did seem to take things a bit far! Thanks for watching.
