★★★ *FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VIDEO / FACT UPDATES* ★★★
*1) Do you still have the car as of Oct 2018?* - Yes he does, the video & images in this video were put together by Tommy just recently, so yes he still owns it, and as said in this video will be handing it down to his son at the right time.
*2) Why is the steering wheel on the wrong side / Right Hand Drive* - Because this is Australia, we have right hand drive cars and we drive on the opposite side of the road to Americans.
*3) Ford is American not Australian how can it be part of Australian History* - The Ford Falcon XA is a unique Ford to Australia; Australian made, Australian sold. The Ford Falcon (XA) is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia from 1972 to 1973 in Australia. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Falcon_(XA)
*4) You are driving on the wrong side of the road* - Yes in Australia the Police let us do that kind of thing, they very relaxed about driving on the wrong side of the road.
*5) Why didn't he let his Dad drive the car* - (Tommy Replied) "My Dad, didn't, and still doesn't want to drive the car. He refused to drive it on the day of the reveal, and to this day, still won't drive it. I don't know why. I have told him he can drive the car whenever he wants."
*6) Why didn't he give the car back to his parents?* - (Tommy Replied) "As the video states, they never wanted the car back. It was mine to do with it as I pleased. I was given the car when my parents moved into town and had nowhere to keep the car."
*7) "F O R D Logo" - If you forward to **5:10** you will notice an error in the ford emblem on the rear trunk/boot. The F and the O are incorrectly spaced apart compared to the spacing between the other letter.* - Reply from Tommy, "The badges on the boot were not evenly spaced when the car was purchased new. Hence why we chose to not get them perfectly spaced out."
Wow! What a heart warmer! I LOVE IT!!
Wonder World I thought most of these were obvious besides the first question.
Obvious to us, but if you read the comments below, you can see why i added the info here
About the fact #4, you're driving in the correct side of the car according to Jeremy Clarckson, lol. I'm Brazilian, so I drive in the wrong side of the road.
I loved the video, a unforgetable car with a beautiful story.
I was talking in the other day with a friend of mine about the Aussie V8 car culture. You have so many unique V8 cars, like Sandman or the UTE's like Maloo, for example. I think that Australia have to present more of their V8 culture to the world, not only the Mad Max side of the story.
PS: Sorry about my English since it's not my first language
I have no doubt the V8 culture is still strong in certain groups & communities, but with fuel prices and car companies shutting down due to poor sales and imports being economical 4 or 6 cylinders, I think the culture is dying off.
The father's face when he was sitting inside... man, he looked like he traveled back in time! Amazing gift! Hats off!
He did travel back in time.
That was so cool. Well worth the money
Man, did you see 9:24? He for sure travelled back in time.

Shall we name it "the Tardis" then?
Price to fix the car: thousands of dollars
Price to see your parents' joyful face: priceless
Exactly. Couldn't say it better myself, because I was literally going to comment that myself 😂
Theorically it costed the same as the car to see them smile but...
The price to see the joy on your parents' face is technically = to the price to fix the car.
The joy n happiness of dear ones is priceless....our parents do so many things for us. Its little gesture towards them...

When his parents a cry, i cry too, wonderful job, sorry for my broken English, I'm from Russia.
You’re not the only one
When it comes to classic cars my friend, it makes no difference who you are or where you come from; we all belong to the same family.
don't be sorry about your broken English, its good you make mistakes so you can learn from them. Sometimes.
This is an awesome video and this comment section is just as good thanks to all

WELL DONE MATE. You bought tears to my eyes seeing your Mum & Dad once again see the car how it should be.
Sadly I don't have the funds to help my Father restore his & Mum's and OUR Family Falcon to enjoy the experience you did. I prey I can get help SOMEWHERE to do the restoration on his complete Fairmont GXL that still has everything to it as he bought it from Kyneton Ford so I can experience him & Mum driving it once again before they pass. And its in more than a reasonable condition being kept out of the weather now for over 30 years.
I can only wish to see my Father bring a tear to his eye and my Mum be so excited to once again see there Family car they and me grew up in.
Well done and congratulations. It was a very tearful moment watching this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏

One of the best cars ever! Sold my 73 Ford to pay for my wedding. Now I am divorced and missing my car. Classic.
Old Chinese proverb: Never ask a man to choose between his favourite car and woman. The woman will always come off second best. Same as never ask a musician to choose between his music and a woman.
Never change a car for a bitch! My wife told me after i got married to sell my cars , cause i had alot of them(mostly SAAB). I never sold one, and now i eneded up with a big collection. Even you sold your car for the wedding, this was not wise at all. A woman you can get anytime....but a classic.....much harder. Now don't get me wrong ,i love my wife and i understand everything......but it is not wise to mix cars and women. Women have their place, and the cars another.

You only not restored the car... But also you bring back all the memories in that car.... Great build mate
The reaction of of his parents is priceless. You can feel the love for the car especially for his parents. Well done my friend well done.
😘😍
Their love is only partially for the car. The real love and emotion is with time that has passed. Seeing the car back in it’s original state would have time travelled them back to 1973. A time when their kids were small, they were young, and their lives were ahead of them.
The car is the catalyst, but not the reason.
Mr ___________ is right, it's the memories it's bringing back not the car. When I see my first car still at the breakers yard after all these years I remember the good old times and how it was a blessing and allowed me to do many things that I've couldnt without a car.

I've had my Camaro for 21 years, it is no longer a just a means of transportation, but a family member, a friend and a sanctuary. When my little brother died, it became a place to escape to. It literally carried me through the worst time of my life.
It is currently undergoing major upgrades. People think I've spent too much on it, but to me, it has earned it and deserves it. It's just time to return the favor. I understand this story, and when his folks came out, well, can't put a price on that.

Mate that was incredible . You can't help but be touched by the emotion of tom's mum and dad.
The car itself was restored amazingly well, and hats off to all involved in the resto!!
Great car and an even better story behind it. Fantastic thank you!
Worth every dollar. That's a beautiful piece of work, worthy of the memories everyone obviously has of the car.
As soon as mom sat in the car you could see both the mom and dad travel back in time 20 years to driving this beautiful vehicle.
Car restoration: $106,300
Memories: Priceless
Memories: $106,300.

Great story. His parents raised him right. Nice to see a rare car brought back to life. Hope his parents enjoy the car for a long time.
nice
Except they didn't accept the damn car 😡
They are blessed to have a son like him.
Huge respect ♥️
You Aussies are very lucky to have that model ford I absolutely love those falcon XA’s
It doesn’t sound like it’s about the money, more about the memory 👍
My dad had a similar relationship with his Australian 1974 P5 Ford LTD. We had some great family trips with that car and my dad regretted selling it and always dreamed of having it again. Unfortunately, we left Australia over 20 years ago and I never got to do what this young man did for his father. And now 7 years after his passing, I will regret not being able to put this kind of smile on my dad's face by restoring and giving him his car from his youth. Well done to this son, moments like these will never be forgotten and last a lifetime.
Why 5.1k dislike on this video.
I think they didn't understand the real meaning of this video..
their parents got died
Obviously those bogan commodore drivers.

john fogarty, f off mate, holdens and fords especially 70’s ones are bloody awsome, even holden lovers respect old fords that are bloody amazing, go back to your backwards thinking world and stop pitting it on holden lovers
Great story, someone was cutting onions towards the end!
100 % Epic
That man has been raised with so much love and respect , what a priceless moment to see his mother & father bought to tears.
You sir are a gentleman 🤟🏻
Parents do so much for their children; children often do not realize how much sacrifice their parents do to give them a life. This is so heart-warming to see what Tony did for his parents; those drop of tears of his father is priceless. May All of us become nicer human being like this. How much we earn, what we do is insignificant to what we are as a human being... such a touchy video!!!!
Very nice comment Ranabir.
Something wrong with your resolution at about the 7 minute mark. It gets all blurry for some reason.
lol
yea..
It's those dam onion choppers. They are all over the utube these days..
No one gives a shit
CaLxRoyalty Clearly you do, else why reply? Oh, look up "irony" while you are not caring.
Respect to Tommy for the awesome job of restoring a great car. It warms my heart to see the love put into it. Doing this type of work is one of my trades and I've grown up with a love for American muacle cars and that includes our Australian muscle car cousins as well. One of , among many, of the great cars and trucks my father owned when i was a kid was a 1967 Ford Mustang ( green ). Once again, much respect from here in the States.
Thanks bud
Wow, when the dad does that last little shimmy to position himself in the car @ 7:45, u can literally see him go back in time. The look on his face I mean. U can soooo tell he’s picturing the past and his youth in that moment.
Loved this video !!!!! Great kids !!!!
If you didn't shed a few tears along with his dad, you're not a real car guy.
doing big projects, not for profit, but out of sheer love and dedication to his parents and the car itself... that's my dream.
Wow what a tear jerker!! I worked for Ford for years and as a child my first memories of vehicles were standing up between the seats of my Father's Falcon Sprint GT and shifting gears as he drove. I can still see the wooden shift knob with chrome inserts. Looked like an old fashion yoyo. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful car and a noble cause to restore it. God bless everyone and the whole universe. Happy World ❤
My eyes started to tear up even before his parents came out.
lol yea... when it comes to this kinda stuff ur right.
I wasn't crying myself.....
Something must've got in my eyes.....
And I'm a Holden guy....
They become members of the family.
Even in war, enemies come together to celebrate a special occasion, so all Holden lovers are welcome.
My dad always wanted to have an old 67 Mustang. I would love to buy an old one and restore it with him together. But unfortunately I´m poor :D
Kornflakez - Lost Places & Stuff all he needs is your love
And a Mustang
@@DanielFloresDelussive f*ck feelings, they are overrated.
No worries, I’m poor too.
My dad wanted to rule the world when he was a kid...
I love this, as a car enthusiast myself I love the 1970’s cars and this is so heartwarming
Also at 2:22 is that a. HQ Holden kingswood? Or a Monaro?
