The look on your face while driving, well... says it all. I come from that era. I had two 1970 Camaros in the late 70's. It's such a raw, real, makes you feel alive driving experience!!!
Wonderful example of a classic Camaro. The car sounds amazing. Thanks for the special old-school review. Awesome job capturing the beauty and paying respect to the older generation.
Its so funny to see the difference in the level of enjoyment when you see someone driving an older classic car vs. one of the newer EV vehicles where "fun" has been basically stripped from the driving experience.
I love the variety of cars that you've reviewed Joe and not only you reviewed a new cars sometimes you have to review used cars or even classic cars that don't even have the latest technology.
Now you are talking Joe ! They don’t quite make them like that anymore …….love the black and white color combo. And lifting the hood and seeing an engine……not a mess like today 😂. I remember having a hot wheels toy car like that
My brother's first car was a 1968 Camaro with a 327 V8. I learned to drive in that red on black coupe. That 327cid unit with its 210 hp made it a fun daily driver.
You are so on point Joe, the auto industry needs to do a very quick rethink and satisfy people like you and me! We are still customers living on this planet! We want sporty muscle power and sexy designs. Most manufacturers are losing their focus on creating gems that you can feel excited to drive right now! They will lose customers. If it has to be an SUV, then for god's sake give us a V6 or V8 or Twin turbo V6. Dumbing down is not the right way, and they will realize this in the years to come. Also pushing all the EV powered vehicles is BS. I don't want a car I have to plug in. What happens if there is a power outage or some other wild event. The people in charge probably want to be in control of us, if they keep pushing the EV. I can go on and on and on, but I will leave it here. Thanks for another awesome video. I hope you speak LOUDLY to the manufacturers, as you have some pull by now Joe! Cheers!
My mother's friend bought a brand new 67' Camaro with a 6 banger. It was her first car. I remember my mother, brother, myself squeezed in the back seat and my mother's friends boyfriend in the front seat as we drove one Saturday to the beach.
I never had the opportunity to drive a 69' Camaro, but the first car I ever bought with my own money was a 69' Roadrunner. Ironically my current car is a 17' Super Sport Camaro 6spd. Been my daily driver since new and for 75k miles. Love this car.
I certainly can't turn my nose up at the '69 Camaro as it is a beautiful design, and my favorite of the Camaros. That said, I'm partial to the Mustang, and I'd rather have me a nice '69 fastback.
What a beautiful car.....the 396 sound awesome and strong. I'm not a convertible or white interior guy but to each his own. Great video, thank you Joe and Merry Christmas from the cold province of Saskatchewan in Canada. PS: If I had this car as a teenager I likely would have been killed. I had a 67 2 door Impala with a 283 that got me in enough trouble....lol.
In 69' a school chums older brother had a brand new 4 speed 69' Camaro, can't remember if it was a z/28 or SS, I just remember him burning rubber up the street.
Hey Joe...Thanks for this review. I'm 57 years old. I wanted a first gen (really a '69) since I was 16 years old. I never got one, I got a 1970 which was fun. I think I would rather have the 302 engine (Z28?) than the 396, but I would take either. I have a C7 Z06 but still pine for a first gen Camaro. Thanks for the video!
I like these dream giveaway ones. Just remember there's a free entry option. I'm mailing it in today. If you are meant to win buying several entries wont make a huge difference. But it's actually a good cause. I hope people support it.
I really like this vid! I wish the big 3 would all have a dedicated factory to make a true "new" retro version of a few of the classics. I mean like the 69 Camaro, 68 Corvette, 70 Dodge Challenger and a real 68 Charger and Boss 302 Mustang...so on. Keep the new production cars of course but offer a true to scale classic version cars for special orders and price them reasonable so we can all enjoy the goodness. I'm a Pisces so I'm allowed to dream right..... oh yeah, a brand new true classic 68 Corvette! I'm in.
Nice! I preferred the '69 Mustang 351 4-speed fastback, so ordered one direct from the factory in late October '68 for $3006. Shame it's not in my garage today!
Hey Joe - This car is super sweet and I would take either the 396 cu in. or the 302 cu in. small block with the 2x4 carb and manifold setup (dual four-barrel cross-ram intake with two 585-cfm Holley carburetors) . Gasoline was about .35 cents a gallon in 1969 and there was no such thing as (unleaded). The Camaro Z28 with 302 and dual 2x4 manifold beat the Ford Mustang Boss 302 in the SCCA Trans-Am series.
Add a modern 6spd manual or 8 spd Auto trans with modern tires and it becomes a high 12 sec. 1/4mile car. That 14sec time recorded in 69' includes lots of tire spin.
Is it a matching numbers car or a clone? I remember the rs had headlight shutters but not the ss.The rs had the u shaped shifter for an automatic transmission while the ss had a more conventional shifter.
That car shoulda been the star of that Rolling Stones video "Angry" instead of the Mercedes-Benz. That Camaro and Sydney Sweeney would have made a better team than she and the Merc SL.
Beautiful machine. Too bad they don't drive as good as they look, compared to a modern car. Then again, heater controls you can find, and and no stupid screen might be worth it.
KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. That's why cars are better back then. People complain about cars being too expensive but then buy cars with heated seats, heated steering wheel, cruise control, automatic transmission like keep it simple.

there is a TASTE in that a modern car can never duplicate
Wonderful example of a classic Camaro. The car sounds amazing. Thanks for the special old-school review. Awesome job capturing the beauty and paying respect to the older generation.
You are so very welcome! I love to bring the variety
Its so funny to see the difference in the level of enjoyment when you see someone driving an older classic car vs. one of the newer EV vehicles where "fun" has been basically stripped from the driving experience.
Tell me about it Todd
I love the variety of cars that you've reviewed Joe and not only you reviewed a new cars sometimes you have to review used cars or even classic cars that don't even have the latest technology.
Thanks Luis that really means the world
The sound is glorious ❤️
Big block goodness!
Now you are talking Joe ! They don’t quite make them like that anymore …….love the black and white color combo. And lifting the hood and seeing an engine……not a mess like today 😂. I remember having a hot wheels toy car like that
This is a real deal hot wheels for sure
Was it the 375 hp or not ?
Love this Camaro Joe.
Camaro is definitely more of an icon for me personally.
I could be the smoothest dude in my hood with this car 😂
You better believe it David

Very well said Andrew!
About $30k in todays money. Very nice restoration

1967 To 1969 i Gotta Have One Someday

Wish GM will rebuild this car, I will buy it.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS RS/SS 396 6.4L Turbo Jet 396 Cubic Inch V8 4-Speed Manual Convertible!
You nailed it Scott
Geez Joe, I just watched your video on my tv using my 7.1 surround sound headphones, and its like being along for the ride in your passenger seat
The laugh during on throttle is the best part!!
I certainly can't turn my nose up at the '69 Camaro as it is a beautiful design, and my favorite of the Camaros. That said, I'm partial to the Mustang, and I'd rather have me a nice '69 fastback.
Great review of a Classic Muscle car. Sound so good and looks like you thoroughly enjoyed the drive
67 To 69 My Favorite of All Generations of Camaro So Beautiful
I Love Classic Camaro Convertible😍❤️🏁🚗💨!!!
Those seats really look good.
That car really suited you. With the top down and the noise of the V8. Yeah🤣
I love all Camaros from 1967--'92

Glad you got this classic muscle car Camaro to review bro beautiful black color
I’m so glad that you are digging it

Hey Joe, I have a question. What is your favorite car that you ever video taped? I think it would have to be this video here for me. Thank you. 😊
Oh wow! That is a tough question. It actually might be the one that I am posting on Friday
@RaitisRides, I can't wait to see the video on Friday of your favorite car. Thank you for answering me back. 😊

Absolutely it is!! No question.

Love it man ❤ that was a beast back then. The 396 was what you wanted.
Oh heck
Yeah!
WOW remember thinking when I was young , 3500 dollars, way out of my price range. Had to settle for my 62 Chevy 283, I picked up for 500$.

Looking like a '69 Pontiac Firebird backend on that '69 Camaro!

And don't forget the Yenko Joe, those had the 427 as well
I know they're the same basic car underneath, but I'll take a Firebird.
Nothing wrong with that! I love firebirds!
Such a gorgeous car 🙂
I want one but not a convertible. I do like the style of this beast✊I think you might need one Joe 🎅
Raitis reviewing 🚢 now 😮

I have owned all of them. The ford shelby gt500 is my fav
Is it a matching numbers car or a clone? I remember the rs had headlight shutters but not the ss.The rs had the u shaped shifter for an automatic transmission while the ss had a more conventional shifter.

I might be getting a 65 chevelle. Would you review it for me?
I would love to!
@@RaitisRidesthat would be awesome. I will comment if I end up getting it then we can go from there!
This would cost in today’s dollars $35k….you can’t even get a nice base mustang for that now 😢
You are so very right about that now
This was nice -- But FIND a Buick "Grand National" T-Top
That car shoulda been the star of that Rolling Stones video "Angry" instead of the Mercedes-Benz. That Camaro and Sydney Sweeney would have made a better team than she and the Merc SL.
68 Dodge Charger is where it’s at
Love that car myself I'm more of a mustang guy.
It may not be better. But it’s infinitely cooler.
Yay for the 1st Gen !!!!!
You have good taste
I see that it is an SS, but also has R/S features, were those added or is it an R/S S/S car?..
But, man is it a beauty...
Best review!
Fisher built GMs bodies. Fisher built stage coaches in the 1800s. No longer says Body Fisher because GM bought Fisher.
let's buy it & convert it to E.V. = yay (57 just cracking the comedy jokes)
You had me worried for a second 57
@@RaitisRides heehee you my fwiend
Beautiful machine. Too bad they don't drive as good as they look, compared to a modern car. Then again, heater controls you can find, and and no stupid screen might be worth it.
Wow, Joe this is a beautiful car, eventhough it is a manual transmission.😊😊😊.
Those car are old school and quite expensive
I love when you drive a manual
When Joe is happy, we are happy.
Ahh so this is the car that the Stallion from GTA came from.

That is debatable 😂
They came from the factory with 14"rims.
KISS
Keep It Simple Stupid. That's why cars are better back then. People complain about cars being too expensive but then buy cars with heated seats, heated steering wheel, cruise control, automatic transmission like keep it simple.
Super Smart!! 😅
U can t get better than a gen one Camaro with hideaway headlights…
They came with steelies
