Seeing as you like bass voices you really need to check out the the Bass Gang. “Centuries “ is my favorite with “Hooked on a feeling” with Tim Foust. All 4 members also do solo covers. Peter Barber does an amazing cover of Enemy and I know Halloween is over but if you’re in the mood for a good old fashioned fun time watch Marwan Ayman doing This is Halloween in 30 styles. And he’s only 21 in this video. 🙀 If you want to see more of Geoff’s range check out “Shenandoah’
The beatboxer (Layne) also writes/adapts/arranges the majority of their work, although Geoff also does some of it. Geoff was the original beatboxer for VoicePlay but persuaded Layne to have a go, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Lol! Fun fact: when they shot this, the studio they were filming at had the air conditioning broken. According to Geoff, he said that it was about 90 degrees Fahrenheit with 100% humidity. So they were all dying of heat that day but the video is spectacular.
If I'm remembering what I read correctly, they all needed to rest for a couple of days after they wrapped up the recording session. Geoff spent five+ hours in a separate studio laying down all his bass tracks for this. It's amazing to me how much physical effort goes into one of these productions .
The tenor is Eliezer, so pronounced ellie for short. He is a rocking beast - This is WAR is my favorite moment in this one. Also, I have to remind myself every time that J did not crash through a huge, creaky, wooden door, that was all Layne!! I am always here for Voiceplay and Geoff!
"Because if it was freezing enough to warrant wearing a full bear, why would you have your arms out?" This is the kind of insightful analysis we've come to expect from Lolli.
First, it’s always hilarious watching you turn into a giggle-box when Geoff goes subterranean! 🤣 That by itself is worth the reaction right there. Then, your expression was priceless when Cesar unleashed the inner berserker *we never knew he had*. The first couple times I watched this the only thing I could think was “Dude, where the hell did THAT come from?!?!?” And c’mon, Eli up in Whitney territory for that whole passage??? I mean I knew it was beastly, but when you played the clips my jaw hit the floor all over again.
I love how you took the time to really demonstrate just HOW awesome Eli's high notes are. I never had it pointed out that way, before, and it was just WOW. :)
Fairy Voice Mother, I have great news. I’m the subscriber who lost her voice and could not sing a note on pitch or in more than one octave. I’ve had a miraculous turn around in my health and my voice is coming back. I sang two full octaves today on pitch. Thank you for encouraging me not to give up.
Congratulations! I, too, have had voice issues caused by cancer drugs the last few years. And I've sung all my life, so it's been difficult. Hope I can come back like you did!
I love that gave so much (deserved) praise to the arrangement. The arranger, in this case, was Layne Stein (the beatboxer), himself. So it makes sense that he would be especially adept at shifting the rhythm around J.'s rap section.
Although I’m always happy when reactors love Geoff, I’m so happy to hear you give the other singers their due. They are all great. But I hope next time you’ll give a little love to Layne. He not only did the arrangement for this one, but kept everything moving with his beat boxing and special effects. One small correction - this wasn’t done with green screen. Eli created the environment in Unreal Engines. It was played on huge LCD screens that they performed in front of.
She actually did give love to Layne. She didn't say his name but she did say that 'the beat is the scaffolding that holds the song together' which is giving credit to Layne's awesome beatboxing.
meh, I can't understand how she can actually enjoy a first viewing piece by piece dissecting it like that. You'd think she'd watch the video first and enjoy the music for what it is... THEN go back and break it down.
@@Sadarsa She is breaking down the musical aspects of music. She isn't reviewing it. There is a difference there. Hopefully, people actually watch the original songs before they watch Reactions.
Omg.. you're just my favorite!! Hahaha I love how you collapse into giggling fits and enjoy the full emotional experience of the music and then in the next breath give amazing technical breakdowns and WOW, didn't realize Eli (pronounced Ellie) was singing that high!! Goodness!! Thanks for demonstrating it in such a salient way -- love your vidoes!! Thanks for all the joy and expertise and beauty you bring to the world -- and my day!! :)
So glad you're doing VoicePlay again! (Wish you'd do more... Golden Hour is wonderful. ) This one has broken some reactors! As for sweating... they truly were! The AC in the studio was out, and they had to film without it!
Another masterclass! Eli is on another level, Geoff with his B0's, Caesar with his grit, Layne as usual off the bloody chart and J None just bloody amazing! Every time I see one of their productions I would think: "This is it, it can't get better".... Yeah right. Can you imagine what will be next??? Thank you again for your excellent review! Don't stop please!
I love VoicePlay so much! Their arrangements are beyond incredible and I get a kick out of your enthusiastic analysis. You are like a kid in a candy store; so many treats, so little time. I would love to have you react to Geoff singing his cover of Bill Wither's, Ain't No Sunshine. Trust me, you will love his range and approach. Satisfaction guaranteed! Thank you Lolli 😄❤
Take one Rock God, add one Bass God, stir in one Beat God and a splash of Rap God, season liberally with a pure berserker, bake at 90 degrees in 100% humidity for hours, and you get a Divine masterpiece!
Eli is a Rock Star in this, Geoff goes to the depths or Hell, Cesear is amazing, J None spits out bars and Lane does things that shouldn't be possible with just your voice
I've been coming back to my fav' reactors on this song... I LOVE your gleeful laugh with Geoff's booming bass down to B-0. our excitation and your ability to explain musical concepts is really impressive. Fantastic in-depth analysis! Glad I listened again!!!
I love this so much! Every moment of this video is suffused with your sheer joy in music! Plus, your commentary - as always - gave me insights into the performance that I would not have reached without you. This is not the first reaction to VoicePlay's Valhalla Calling that I've watched. But it has been the most fun. I believe, BTW, that Geoff's sustained low B was a B0 in subharmonic.
This is the first premier I was able to make it to, like always it was fantastic! Would love to see you react to Golden Hour by VoicePlay. You would have a blast analyzing that one 🙂
While Voiceplay keeps raising the acapella bar, your willingness, and ability, to explain, demonstrate and imitate what is happening, is doing the same for reactions.
Vikings were sailor / warriors, so it absolutely would stand to reason that JNone means it, as he left VoicePlay to Join the U.S. Navy thus becoming a Sailor / Warrior himself. :)
I love your work (and it's pronounced L-E). I'm surprised you haven't done more of Voiceplay specifically: My mother told me, Hoist the colors , and Geoff Castelucci Misty mountains
Soon as I saw this I was eager to hear your thoughts on Eli. While they are all phenomenal it's his voice that stands out for me on this track. Great song, great reaction as always. Also I love today's oracle card, being a fully fledged unicorn thats been flying the rainbow flag for many years I appreciate that. You do you! Xx
Eli has the feel of a true skald belting out the sagas to incite the warriors to battle. Then we get Cesar belting which is an unusual departure from his usual softer sound. I'm always bown away by each VP song showing a little something new from at least one of them. And I would love to see J None as Jefferson in a production of Hamilton.
Omg. He probably would have a blast doing it, too. Diggs *cemented* that role, but fantastic, expressive rappers/singers can step into those shoes. J None would be amazing! Not sure if you knew it, but DeeJay Young is currently Killing it as Burr/Hamilton on one of the current tours.
I love ELI. I believe his rock God nickname is very fitting. I absolutely love your analysis of all of the songs you do. You are able to break all of the technique down flawlessly. Coincidentally, you have one of the most fantastic voices I have heard in your own right. Thank you for the reactions you do. We also need more of your originals and covers. Lovely, sheer beauty!
Hi Lolli! FYI - this wasn't done with 'green screen', like MMTM was, but filmed in a VR studio with huge LED screen walls, so we see what they saw - Eli did amazing work, still creating all the 3D backgrounds in Unreal Engine (gaming software) - also J's plane from Washington to Orlando was 3 hours late, so that may explain the way he joined them part way through! Definately my favorite VP release so far - it seems to have broken sooo many other reactors! 😄
Amazing video as always. I BLOODY LOVE acapella done right and not too cheesy and this was awesome. Never heard these guys before. Your insight is second to none as usual. And i love you have some great audio production knowledge as well! Stop being so bloody awesome!
You won me over with your demonstration of Ellie's (L-ee) staggering upper range, What a great idea!! I already knew Voice Play AND this arrangement. I was curious what your reaction(s) would be. Truly an enlightening AND fun reaction to watch. LOVE your gleeful laugh with Geoff's basement thunder. As I said, you finally won me over. Liked AND subscribed!
First time commenting, long time subscriber. I love your reaction when you first hear Geoff. 😁 I am always blown away by Eli’s (It is pronounced Ellie) crazy range, but what you did, finding those songs and playing them back and forth?! What a great way to put it in perspective!
you really know when you've been spoiled too much by Geoff's voice when you react to him doing a B0 and don't freak out, have to walk away for a second then triple check it on the piano lmao. and yes it's pronounced Ellie 🙂
For sure. It’s almost hard to pick out in the beginning that he’s holding it for almost 15 seconds or so. I had to listen to it again when I picked out the bass. There’s so many layers. I listened to it so many times and picked up on new things. Until this video I never picked up on the B0 in the beginning coinciding with the first word being ships.
my absolute favorite reaction to this, how you remain giddy and still hear and notice EVERY detail and explain it so well is a mystery I intend on collection more examples of love love LOVE your channel
I've been watching some of your reaction videos and I just want to say you also have an amazing voice and your ability to demonstrate overtones and such is impressive
I love how this song immediately caught my attention within the first couple of seconds. Within 30 seconds I was totally captured, absorbed in the soundscape. This song really needs to be listened to with headphones. I actually bought a pair specifically for this song (I was listening with a crummy iPad speaker). Brilliant arrangement, wonderful performances and of course our wonderful Fairy Voice Mother bringing it all together with insightful analysis and an energetic, gleeful reaction of pure joy. When she reacts to Geoff’s first unreal subharmonic her laugh invariably makes me laugh. Every. Single. Time. The woman has a gift lol It’s amazing how menacing Geoff can look in his roles with makeup. He’s such a chill guy irl and in interviews, you’d never guess he could act like such a bad guy. “Sweating their titties off” no that’s just Geoff’s low bass. 😆 Oh Lolli, Vikings can withstand the coldest of winter and the hottest the summer can deliver. So the bearskin is no problem 😉 Also, “Plosive” is my newest favourite word.
You know I love all your breakdowns! This one is in my top three easy. Everything from “they must be sweatingtheir titties off” to “you can’t dress up a cello in a suit of armor and a rug”. You’re just great!
I just found you and I want to tell you I love the way you break down these tracks for us and how emotional you get when you are "feeling" the music. As another emotional listener I want you to know I get it!! you are pure awesomeness.
Yes, yes, yes. Loved this one. VoicePlay have so many amazing songs and this one has shot up to the top ten in my list. Thanks for the breakdown, it was very interesting. x
Top 10? I downloaded this song from Spotify and it's been on repeat for the past week and a half lol. My wife is convinced I want to become a Viking now.
I come to this channel for one reason. The Geoff Giggles and the note takedowns. ... Ok, I come to this channel for two reasons. The Geoff Giggles and the note takedowns and the spit-takes (like with the Jinjer Pisces reaction). ... Ok, I come to this channel for three reasons. The Geoff Giggles and the note takedowns and the spit-takes (like with the Jinjer Pisces reaction) and the sheer enjoyment you exude watching great music unfold before your eyes. ... Amongst the many reasons I come to this channel... :P Perfection. As usual. My ONLY complaint that I've ever had, in watching any of your reaction videos, is that you haven't reacted to every single one of my favorite songs. * pouts * But, since I'm a boomer, I like many genres of music and artists including Ludacris, Outkast, Johnny Cash, Tom T Hall, Metallica, System of a Down, John Denver, Peter Paul & Mary, acapella (especially Voiceplay, Pentatonix, and Home Free), Roberta Flack, Marvin Gaye, Brenda Lee, the Jackson 5, Moody Blues, and many many others. Alas, I must then go away torn at the soul at not hearing your takes. :P Simply put, your channel is phenomenal and you are a wonder to watch. Keep up the great videos!
The duet with Peyton is still my favorite version of this song. He brings the perfect amount of grit to balance with Gavin's smoother sound. Also Gavin's original sound design and arrangement is so well done, just *chef's kiss*
I love your breakdowns, I have been learning a lot from your analysis. The b zero from Geoff in beginning, during rapping, and at the end, is extremely difficult! I have twice hit g0 but in chest, his subs are several notes below any one else I have heard! Another brilliant arrangement and J, my goodness! Low bass Kenneth
I'll never get tired of your interesting and educational explanations of the human voice and your quirky humor while doing so. However, the most interesting thing I noticed in this video is YOUR MUSHROOM EARRINGS. I love em. I've never in my life seen anyone wear mushroom earrings before. Good move. Let me guess. One side makes you bigger and the other side makes you smaller, right? Right, Alice?
Sure enjoyed your explanations - feel like I learned a lot! Your talking of cellos made me think of a phrase one of my reactors used for Geoff. Geoff is a panther purring inside a cello. Like that one.
I can't imagine how much you would love Voiceplay's In the Hall of the Mountain King! I love your reactions and expert break downs and I'm glad I've found your videos:)
Ive watched at least 50 reactions to this and yours definitely thrilled me the most with your knowledge and appreciation and insight. Fantastic reaction to an incredible song!
Absolutely love how you break down a song! Perfect blend of technical but also explaining so someone less versed in the power of voice can understand. Super excited to see this vid some out, I've been loving this song and all the little details that get picked out that I miss.
You are my favorite reviewer and I've been checking every couple of days to see if you were going to do this one - thank you! Thoroughly enjoyed it, as well as your way of educating us all.
Ze wszystkich komentatorów piosenek - panią lubię najbardziej, bo robi to pani z pasją i oglądanie jak ma pani z tego radość, powoduje, że sam mam uśmiech na twarzy. Dziękuję.

The beatboxer (Layne) also writes/adapts/arranges the majority of their work, although Geoff also does some of it. Geoff was the original beatboxer for VoicePlay but persuaded Layne to have a go, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I don't know which hits me harder, Geoff's Bass God goodness, or Eli's Rock God Powerhouse!

If I'm remembering what I read correctly, they all needed to rest for a couple of days after they wrapped up the recording session. Geoff spent five+
hours in a separate
studio laying down all his
bass tracks for this.
It's amazing to me how much physical effort goes into one of these productions .
If they did this when they were suffering from heat exhaustion, imagine if it had been a comfy 70 degrees in the studio.
hey who knows, maybe the sweat makes it more realistic looking so.
Thank you for the facts and numbers.love their music but facts that fill out the story aere nice for someone like me.PhD physics

"Because if it was freezing enough to warrant wearing a full bear, why would you have your arms out?" This is the kind of insightful analysis we've come to expect from Lolli.
Because you need your sword and shield arms ready for fighting. Nothing in the way of saving your life and killing the enemy.
@@coletedeux Excellent point!
@@coletedeux was about to say this lol
because he already has bare arms!
@@coletedeux I would have to disagree. Unprotected skin is problematic, both in weather conditions warranting wearing a full bear and when fighting 😁

Best reactor on TH-cam!! The excitement this women brings never ever gets old!!
IN fricken LOVE your reaction!! The joy and laughter.... sigh my heart is stolen!!
I loved your reaction. You talked about so many details most reactor didn't notice like background music during the rapping part.
So informative, love that you know so much about music. Thanks for reacting.
You know I love all your breakdowns! This one is in my top three easy. Everything from “they must be sweatingtheir titties off” to “you can’t dress up a cello in a suit of armor and a rug”. You’re just great!
Best reactor out there. Definitely have a crush on the fairy voice mother. Beautiful 😅
I just found you and I want to tell you I love the way you break down these tracks for us and how emotional you get when you are "feeling" the music. As another emotional listener I want you to know I get it!! you are pure awesomeness.
So much interesting variety in this one, thanks again for all your thoughts and enthusiasm!
Thank you for wonderful reaction. You definately enjoyed all of the ear candy in this one.
Thank you for examining all the layers to this amazing VP production! I can appreciate it even more now!
I freaking love the energy you bring to this reaction. You are talented. You are beautiful. You have a beautiful soul.
Perfection. As usual. My ONLY complaint that I've ever had, in watching any of your reaction videos, is that you haven't reacted to every single one of my favorite songs.
* pouts *
But, since I'm a boomer, I like many genres of music and artists including Ludacris, Outkast, Johnny Cash, Tom T Hall, Metallica, System of a Down, John Denver, Peter Paul & Mary, acapella (especially Voiceplay, Pentatonix, and Home Free), Roberta Flack, Marvin Gaye, Brenda Lee, the Jackson 5, Moody Blues, and many many others. Alas, I must then go away torn at the soul at not hearing your takes. :P
Simply put, your channel is phenomenal and you are a wonder to watch. Keep up the great videos!
That gigle is everything
Miracle of Sound is fantastic. He's been actively making music for 10+ years.
Yeah. I've been listening to Gavin since his 2nd album came out. Love his music.
The duet with Peyton is still my favorite version of this song. He brings the perfect amount of grit to balance with Gavin's smoother sound. Also Gavin's original sound design and arrangement is so well done, just *chef's kiss*
Gav is so incredible.
Great reaction/analysis as usual!!.
Cesar's intensity throughout really caught my attention.
I can't imagine how much you would love Voiceplay's In the Hall of the Mountain King! I love your reactions and expert break downs and I'm glad I've found your videos:)
I'm so sorry I missed the show yesterday but I'm here now and loving it. As always we'll done Lolli
Thanks for the music lesson. Very informative.
One of the best reactors l've seen on youtube, period!
i love your reactions for so many reasons! Your uncontrollable giggle when Geoff comes in, the in-depth breakdown. Keep up the great work!
Ive watched at least 50 reactions to this and yours definitely thrilled me the most with your knowledge and appreciation and insight. Fantastic reaction to an incredible song!
Just love your enthusiasm and humour. Love it love it LOVE IT.
Absolutely love how you break down a song! Perfect blend of technical but also explaining so someone less versed in the power of voice can understand. Super excited to see this vid some out, I've been loving this song and all the little details that get picked out that I miss.
I'm absolutely in love with this arrangement
Loved your analysis!! Thank you for this thorough review. I'll be looking for other reviews of VoicePlay from you!!
I love your reactions. So full of real and pure joy😄
Ooooh I’ve been waiting for this one! I love your reaction videos so much, you never fail to make me smile!
Always a great pleasure listening to you and your songs
You are my favorite reviewer and I've been checking every couple of days to see if you were going to do this one - thank you! Thoroughly enjoyed it, as well as your way of educating us all.
Geez I love you! You show me WHY I love the songs that I do. Who even knew there was such a thing as an F# major triad?
💗💗💗 Love you, love your reactions. That is all. 😍
Ze wszystkich komentatorów piosenek - panią lubię najbardziej, bo robi to pani z pasją i oglądanie jak ma pani z tego radość, powoduje, że sam mam uśmiech na twarzy. Dziękuję.
Your music knowledge and wisdom is amazing 😱😁👍 and you have no idea how enjoying is watching you enjoying the music 😍. Still waitng for " We don't talk about Bruno", "Hoist the colours" and "Little Mermeid medley" by VoicePlay.
Loved learning from your analysis, truly wonderful reaction. ❤
Bare arms, I used to ice climb in shorts and short sleeves, allows range of motion and work keeps you warm. Plus you do get used to it.
I believe in one of Geoff's videos he referred to that 'crackling' you speak of as 'Vocal frying" a common technic for bass singers apparently.
I’m glad I got down the rabbit hole of reactions to that VoicePlay’s video. Discovered your channel. Amazing reaction and thanks for all the great information on techniques. And yeah Eli… I was like “Dude you belt higher than I can” 😂😂.
