I can see why Clair doesn't have many Dragon types. In Gen IV, there were only six fully evolved non-Legendary Dragon type Pokémon: Dragonite, Kingdra, Flygon, Altaria, Salamence, and Garchomp.
Claire's team was the most disappointing by a country mile. Kingra aside it was a hatchet job of Lance's original team. I demolished her with 6 one hit KO's. I had seriously hoped she would have at least Tyrannitar and Salamence in the Rematch. Maybe Altaria and Garchomp as well. Granted with her personality at times, I think the first pair would really suit her prime team.
Honestly, a roster change was needed for Claire. Drop Dragonair for Flygon (dragon type for dragon type), Charizard for Sceptile or Feralligatr (other dragon like starters), Aerodactyl for Steelix (it learns Dragonbreath) or Tyrannitar (Outrage).
You can fight the toughest of all the eight gym leaders in Johto before you fight eight more (you're halfway there), Clair, who you once fought in Blackthorn City. She'll have Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Dragonite, Dragonair, Charizard, and Kingdra. Though you already have the Rising Badge.

(Also, the only reason why I mentioned a Flygon, is because she'll need something instead of her shiny Druddigon. Since Druddigon are not in Gen 4.)
Yoshieggheads07 Yoshi Bird lance had aerodactyl and dragonair in his initial team. So its possible he gave them to clair or something like that. It wouldnt have looked so good if they had both salamence altaria garchomp and dragonite and charizard in their final teams

She has Lance's old squad and Lance actually got legit dragon's on his rematch team which I feel is much harder than his original team haha
One of the difference is that Lance's Aerodactyl has the ability Pressure and Clair's one has the ability Rock Head(Doesn't take any recoil damage)
She literally just copied Lance's entire team, extremely infuriating.
Maybe lance gave the aerodactyl to her? Since lance doesn't have a aerodactyl on his rematch team. Correct me if Im wrong

They should change Gyarados typing from water/ flying. To dragon/water type & change charizard's typing too 🔥/ flying to 🔥/ dragon type.
Charizard has a Dragon-Type Mega Evolution in Gen VI, but I agree that Gyarados should have been Dragon-Type from the beginning.

Clair is no real dragon type trainer. This charizard is fire flying not dragon. Only dragon egg group. Same with lance.
