This isn't the first time osrs has done something like this. I remember woox trying to figure out something just like this and the only reason the final step got solved is because someone dug on every tile in the game till they found the right spot
The guy who discovered the bat bones token was just finding out how many blessed bone shards they break down into so he could put it into the wiki. He just happened to do it on the right day...
All fun except you realize that you can't do anything unless one of your accounts has a name with the right length for the day or you don't mind name changing That system bothers me. I don't wanna do a treasure hunt on a work day fs
Your correct it was changed very early on in OSRS to not require them to do the steps. It use to be an item check to have the Sextant, Chart, and Watch in your inventory for it to work. Seems it was changed June 26th of 2014.
The bat bone one was discovered around day 1 (like the bream token, though the bream token was first). It was discovered while trying to fill in the wiki data for all the bone shard sources. While the bream token was known about for the longest, it was token 5 or 6 in terms of narrowing down the requirements for it.
Like many people, I figured that the last token might have something to do with hunter or the hunting guild, considering that all of the other tokens come from sources that have some association with content added with the Varlamore update. I spent some time a while ago feeding guild hunter Kiko every type of raw fish in the game. I even fed him a full inventory of rainbow fish, considering its direct ties to the hunter skill. I had my own pet cat out just in case that might effect something, though in retrospect, maybe feeding your own cat a specific fish when in front of Kiko might do something. His dialogue "Did you catch this yourself?" is of note. Many of the fish I gave him I bought from stores, which could have an effect. Some other things to consider include wearing cat themed items (ears, bob shirt, rat pole etc.), having a specific color of cat out, and using a specific sequence of fish on Kiko.
Its interesting that there is no overlap in the tasks so far: 1. Combat and equipment 2. Mining and music 3. Thieving and NPC position 4. Digging and clues 5. Fishing and settings 6. Prayer and using a specific item Might be worthwhile to try things that are as dissimilar to previous token tasks as possible.
I feel like it's very unlikely that there were only hints for a single token. Perhaps we should look at the other 5 tokens we know and see where we could have found hints for them? And then work backwards from the hints to see what other hints there could be.
Someone in the discord had a good point to this, the "triggers" do kinda make sense in a roundabout way; there's nettles near the buffalo pen, people might have questlist sorted by storyline to complete Perilous Moons and go fishing after that, mining is very afk and as such someone might be enjoying the in-game music, etc etc. But the trigger list is quite long so it's pretty hard to figure out!

Funny boaty number but also they don't write the HA value itself, that's just 60% of the actual value which in this case they wrote to be 123. 123 seems like a number someone might just choose randomly
My guess revolves around Buffy the bank buffalo in the hunters guild. I think maybe using garlic or a stake on him might give the token given the reference. But since the other ones seem kind of random probably not
I noticed the other day that magic trees in varlamore, near Cam Torum, have some unique sparkle effects not seen elsewhere. There's also an empty shack with some items implying a wizard lives/lived there, but as far as I can tell there's no other information. It might just be fluff, but maybe it's related?
The magic trees probably aren't. Jagex likes to update the models of things, especially trees, when releasing new areas. Case in point, the Soul Wars trees.
Except the puzzle everyone was stuck on for years... You're telling me not a single player of the world's most popular game drove backwards in the race?? Nah, that would have been figured out in under 10 minutes.

(Since the change of the random event) I dont remember if the change was later on or not..
To go along with the "nice" means 69 somewhere, and that hunter is the unlock. Dashing kebbits are a common hunter rumor task. They also require 69 hunter. likely to need items/gear commonly used for hunter rumors also.

@@user-wn9kd3do5v prior to varlamore jmods were asking ctc discord questions to find ways around data mining, there being 20 different token IDs is thought to be placeholders that will get replaced with rewards once its solved to avoid spoiling what the reward will be
I have a feeling that Moonlight Moths or Moss Lizards might have something to do with the final token, if you map out the locations that the previous token are acquired starting with Thieving, it leads you to Moonlight Months/Moss Lizards. So 3 Underground task assuming hunting Moths/Moss is the correct answer, then 1 semi universal, and 3 above ground.
Havent played runescape for a while... But i'm going to throw this out here because i got an idea what the 7th task might be... And it is for player to hunt embertailed jerboa while waring ''indiana jones'' like outfit. Possibly only ''fedora''. This idea comes from disney classic ''Bernard and bianca in australia''... Also considering those critters are located at ''savannah''.
Watch the last one be like craft a specific amount of runes in one run at a specific minute interval (divisible by 2 for example) with a specific song playing a specific note while being chosen on shuffle not manually selected, on the specific day in a specific world. And on mobile.
The music is the classic start up screen music. The sorting by story order shows the history of Runescape chronologically. There's clearly a META theme here, especially since the character length in your name and the real life date matters as well... I wonder why all these mechanical components matter. If I had to guess, I would say that playing in the default 07 resolution/interface might matter, since it's both META and fits the theme. Just thinking outloud, I'm not a Discord kind of guy, this revelation might have been discussed to death on there.
I think it has something to do with Morytania. That's where you first pick nettles. And bat bones. Maybe if you sort morytania storyline and look at each main quest every quest has a hint.
I've been occasionally trying some things for the unknown token whenever the day comes around. But without any sort of hint or pattern from the other clues, it just feels entirely hopeless. Like throwing a dart blindfolded in a random direction, hoping to hit a bullseye without a guarantee that the target isn't buried under some rubble. Not my favorite kind of puzzle, but it's interesting to keep a passive look on the Discord
Yeap, I think they were meant to be found passively by the community just playing the game; someone was eventually going to kill a buffalo on the right day wearing some gloves, etc. Just seems the last token was a bit too well hidden.
well the white cat in the hunters guild could be a reference to the white cat story, so a acorn, needle and maybe a strange fruit could be needed for it (if it was meant as a hint towards the white cat story were it turned into a princess)
I think this was probably something LIKE crack the clue 4 or the Rick Astley QR code. They probably wanted to wait a while so people wouldn’t data mine the answers when they announced it. Gl figuring out the last token. Maybe it will unlock a chest with the next crack the clue start point.
Imo farming will be the last skill. It makes sense for it to be the last one found due to the time locked nature of the skill. You probably need to check the health of a hardwood tree with a very specific combination of items equipped with a specific song playing. Good luck to whoever finds it lmfao.
This is so cool! Also I got the fishing one and I didn’t know it was totally by accident. I switch my quests to storyline for no real reason months ago. And I just so happen to try those bosses out on the only day of the week I could of gotten it
Most are saying its in part two. But I doubt that since why would all but one be available? They don’t really do stuff like that to my knowledge. It must just be hidden somewheres and we haven’t found it.
I'm guessing the token will be found when talking to someone or reading some sort of book or scroll found on Varlamore. Another potential is a random event like a mysterious box while in Varlamore.
Saw ur video this week now i did quest kingdom divided and saw red arrow on top of de tower on xeric lookout teleport the lookout itself top floor.. Idk if it means anything just wanted to share
6:45 there actually is a way to force NPCs to walk in specific directions. As long as no other player or npc has walked under you and then left, your character has an "NPC collision", meaning that they can't walk through you. You can use this to limit the options where they can walk and give them less options to walk further away from your goal. And if you have multiple accounts, you can fully control NPC movements as long as the accounts don't step on same tiles and then leave. I utilize this quite a lot while trying to setup pickpocket targets so that they can never move more than 2 tiles (if they stand still for 600 ticks they will force teleport to their spawn location)
Has anyone asked Mod Ash is anyone has found the 7th token by accident? Also, is it possible there is a connection between names of the activities and required items that has a theme or pattern? I think the most telling/restrictive of all is the quest list in storyline order while fishing for Brim... something about that one seems like you to be able to derive some pattern ideas and try to apply them to the other tasks until it clicks. Really hope someone figured it out at some point!

Yeah, it very well might be a cosmetic. Anyway, I WANT IT!
@@user-wn9kd3do5v prior to varlamore jmods were asking ctc discord questions to find ways around data mining, there being 20 different token IDs is thought to be placeholders that will get replaced with rewards once its solved to avoid spoiling what the reward will be
Makes more sense its skilling
My bet is on hunter guild cat. Feeding hi. A rat tail... with rat pole
I hope the last token takes years to find. And is something insane, like you need to get it from a free to play world while you don't have membership
I'd put a bet on the last token coming from construction. A nice key is very fitting for a nice house.
you have to craft soul runes whilst wearing a condom over your head and singing Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley
Those moths can also be found in the hunter’s guild. So could something there too.
You have to say "nice" when someone recieves a token
I think it will have the do with some kind of sequence first catch this with these items and than catch that with other items.
I would be really surprised if the last token is not from somewhere in the colosseum.
Something with Hunter or woodcutting my guess. Get chopping folks !
I feel like the 7th token could just be what big foot in gta san andreas was. I made up treasure hunt created by developers and players
I'd laugh if it was like the bugs in jars from Skyrim (i.e. leads to nothing)
If all the tokens are tied to a skill activity in Varlamore, maybe the final one is runecrafting by trading sulfur essence in from the naguas?
Diamond speedrunning trophy is up there with top rarest items
Looking at all the secondaries that go with the main action, and trying to think of something different. Maybe being skulled when doing x?
well the white cat in the hunters guild could be a reference to the white cat story, so a acorn, needle and maybe a strange fruit could be needed for it (if it was meant as a hint towards the white cat story were it turned into a princess)
Scape main just hits the dopamine perfectly
The token drops if your character Jorks it while wearing Jorts.
And I just so happen to try those bosses out on the only day of the week I could of gotten it
I wouldn't be surprised if the 7th token is from the agility course that got delayed.
It would be hilarious if you just had to use a chisel on the collectors necklace when he spawns since the ruby looks like a token
Maybe something to do with breaking down limestone bricks from the limestone mine? That area and the giant skeleton seem sus to me
This seems like a nice RSPS mini game for the community, wish it was in the main game
Try something hunter related with specific logs or having a cat out or maybe having various spellbooks or maybe accept aid off/on or roover off/on?
Most are saying its in part two. But I doubt that since why would all but one be available? They don’t really do stuff like that to my knowledge. It must just be hidden somewheres and we haven’t found it.
RuneScape is the absolute best place to hide super crazy easter eggs. I just wish there was wayyyy more.
I got the fishing one in moons randomly and thought it was just a bug
same, and i didint know what it was until just now when watching this video
Probably have to stand facing west on the westernmost point of the continent for 5mins and your character will find it
I'm guessing the token will be found when talking to someone or reading some sort of book or scroll found on Varlamore. Another potential is a random event like a mysterious box while in Varlamore.
Saw ur video this week now i did quest kingdom divided and saw red arrow on top of de tower on xeric lookout teleport the lookout itself top floor.. Idk if it means anything just wanted to share
Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately that arrow doesn’t lead anywhere, it has been in the game since 2016
dannnng bro got a sponsorship at 13k subs that's really fucking good
What about the new clue spots in valomere? Would seem to match the theme of hidden things?
Exactly. Also the Dragon Spear special attack pushes NPCs, so that could likely be used too.
My guess is it has something to do with the word "Nice"
Has anyone asked Mod Ash is anyone has found the 7th token by accident? Also, is it possible there is a connection between names of the activities and required items that has a theme or pattern? I think the most telling/restrictive of all is the quest list in storyline order while fishing for Brim... something about that one seems like you to be able to derive some pattern ideas and try to apply them to the other tasks until it clicks. Really hope someone figured it out at some point!
drink from the bird spring when you are dressed as a bird (backseat - i dont know if there is an armor like that)
