Thank you so much for sharing that video. I have a question when I completed form I-130 I forgot to place where my beneficiary will go for the visa. So I received an approve letter explaining to complete for I-824. However, on the form I-824, it doesn’t ask anything about the Consulate where the beneficiary needs to go. How will they know where to assign the case once the I-824 is received and approved? Will they use the closest Consulate based on the beneficiary’s address?
For the little knowledge, l have gathered so far, the l-824 dorms is just for USCIS to further your approved case to NVC. NVC will know which consulate to assign you to after uploading your document unto the portal they will create or you will create with your new case number from NVC.

I know some people have said option b, which is for those who wants to change consulate location , am I correct? I never chose a location so choosing option 1b would be wrong correct?

Reason location left blank is because it does not give us choice outside USA. Seeing not able to get wife to USA, you would think they would know it's hot to go to there country to be completed. Hello kseniya we are under k1 and i am now married to US citizen and soon to file AOS but the problem is we still not received our Noa2 Letter of approval ( my husband change address and did not change his address in the USCIS before) and we already contact USCIS they said we need to file I-824 for duplicate how much is the payment for that because noa2 letter is much needed in applying AOS.

I just called uscis because it has been 1 month and 4 days since USPS sent me a tracking number that says that USCIS received my I-824 and i never received any notice of receipt from USCIS so they tell me over the phone that they have not received anything and that someone will call me within 72 hours. hi, my case at nvc . i submitted i864(petitioner) and i864a (household member my husband) but our income doesn't meet minimum requirements. so i added a joint sponsor and joint sponsor's household member .but nvc rejected joint sponsor ,their income even not sufficient. they ask joint sponsor assets proof. if i add second joint sponsor do i still have to submit 1st joint sponsor's assets proof?? please reply my comments I'll be very thankful
Well explained, but I don't think the processing time for I-824 only takes 3-6 months. Many cases in Nebraska center take more than 1 years to be approved.

Thanks! The instructions say that only the petitioner can select option 1d. In that case only the petitioner can sign, i.e. you’re the applicant on I-824. You should in fact be the one signing this form.

You should make sure that your case is exactly like ours. Simply we didn’t indicate where beneficiary will apply for for immigrant visa. Hope that will help. Please feel free to ask me about this issue, I will be happy to help.

Are you trying to say that your I 130 was approved and uscis requested to file I 824 because you didn’t indicate where your mom will get the interview. If so then you’re doing good, fill out the I 824 and mark there where says uscis to send my approved i130 to the nvc. If so please use one of the addresses that you gave you . The I-824 does have a processing time frame as well, each processing center is different. You can check the processing time for your center at USCIS.gov.

Hello, they do not have fee waivers for family applicants. I do not know if they will make a correction in those questions. Hopefully not but if they do, you’ll have to file separate I-824 for each parent.
Hi Kseniya What happens if i-485 is denied, while i-824 is in the processing My son's i-485 is denied, just 15 days before the f2A interview date. The reason for denial is he is not able to submit medicals as he is out of the country and cannot come back to USA, as he travelled on an expired Advance parole document. Will US embassy deny i-824 or approve based on the new medicals ?? Please respond Thank you

In the instructions sheet it says to provide a copy of form I-130. I believe it's on page 5 and 7 of the instructions sheet. Do I need to send a copy of form I-130? I misplaced the approval. What should I select? 1A? But I'm trying to get this form sent to NVC in my home country of Bangladesh.
@@dwaynewade349 it does not ask for a copy of the application, it asks for a copy of the receipt notice. Assuming you can’t provide it, hopefully they will send you a duplicate after sending this form.

My case got approved in April and now my lawyer is saying my case has not been moved to the NVC so now I have to file the I-824 form to force them to send it to the to the nvc. She says some people paper work gets lossed at uscis that is why we have to do this Now it is august

For me the date in the I-797 is 2/27/2024 but the approval date of my I-130 on the USCIS account says 02/29/2024. Does paying and completing i824 replace having to do the i485? Or we have do do both?
No if the beneficiary is outside the US when they come you will need I485. I literally forgot that question and it cost alot of time and money .

I just called uscis because it has been 1 month and 4 days since USPS sent me a tracking number that says that USCIS received my I-824 and i never received any notice of receipt from USCIS so they tell me over the phone that they have not received anything and that someone will call me within 72 hours. Am i screwed out of my over 400 dollars that i spent on the money order or could they fix the situation without me having to pay again ? I have video prove and photo prove of delivering it and also photo prove of tracking number that says it was received by USCIS.

Sorry to hear that, however you need to fill out a I 824 form and pay $465 fee, and file it to USCIS as soon as possible. Wish you good luck

hi, my case at nvc . i submitted i864(petitioner) and i864a (household member my husband) but our income doesn't meet minimum requirements. so i added a joint sponsor and joint sponsor's household member .but nvc rejected joint sponsor ,their income even not sufficient. they ask joint sponsor assets proof. if i add second joint sponsor do i still have to submit 1st joint sponsor's assets proof?? please reply my comments I'll be very thankful
Well explained, but I don't think the processing time for I-824 only takes 3-6 months. Many cases in Nebraska center take more than 1 years to be approved.
My was just approved. I fill for 1-824 since December 2022 and just send to NVC last month ending. Be patient.

Hello, thank you for this video. We have submitted our i-824 with complete attachment but were NOT ACCEPTED due to UNREADABLE BARCODE beneath the form. Now, we need to resubmit the i-824. What is the barcode for? We downloaded the form via uscis website. Your reply will be greatly appreciated.
Each uscis form has a barcode at the bottom which must be visible and readable when you send the forms.

Thanks! The instructions say that only the petitioner can select option 1d. In that case only the petitioner can sign, i.e. you’re the applicant on I-824. You should in fact be the one signing this form.
Hi thanks for information but question here is same I already forgot to mention of embassy or consulate for beneficiary in I 130 this form is for that but there is no specific box to mention here like I 130 what location you have to move your case so how they going to do here in this case? You should make sure that your case is exactly like ours. Simply we didn’t indicate where beneficiary will apply for for immigrant visa. Hope that will help. Please feel free to ask me about this issue, I will be happy to help.
Thanks a lot for the reply! I filed an I-130 for my mom and noted that she is going to go through an interview at the consulate in her country. I got an I-797 approval letter. Then I filled I-824 form (picked 1d - sent docs to the NVC)
Now i797 form has an address but I’m not sure if I should send the form there or to the address noted on uscis site: USCIS Attn: NFB P.O. Box 21281 Phoenix, AZ 85036-1281

Are you trying to say that your I 130 was approved and uscis requested to file I 824 because you didn’t indicate where your mom will get the interview. If so then you’re doing good, fill out the I 824 and mark there where says uscis to send my approved i130 to the nvc. If so please use one of the addresses that you gave you .

I received answer from them on may but up to now the NVC didn’t received my case yet, so worried about my situation
The I-824 does have a processing time frame as well, each processing center is different. You can check the processing time for your center at USCIS.gov.

Hello, they do not have fee waivers for family applicants. I do not know if they will make a correction in those questions. Hopefully not but if they do, you’ll have to file separate I-824 for each parent.

What happens if i-485 is denied, while i-824 is in the processing
My son's i-485 is denied, just 15 days before the f2A interview date.
The reason for denial is he is not able to submit medicals as he is out of the country and cannot come back to USA, as he travelled on an expired Advance parole document.
Will US embassy deny i-824 or approve based on the new medicals ??

In the instructions sheet it says to provide a copy of form I-130. I believe it's on page 5 and 7 of the instructions sheet. Do I need to send a copy of form I-130? I misplaced the approval. What should I select? 1A? But I'm trying to get this form sent to NVC in my home country of Bangladesh.

@@dwaynewade349 it does not ask for a copy of the application, it asks for a copy of the receipt notice. Assuming you can’t provide it, hopefully they will send you a duplicate after sending this form.

Yes they determine based on beneficiary’s address. I don’t know what case closed means, maybe you’ll get approval receipt soon

I've been able to fill out the forms but my father cant recall his signature due to his illness and old age. Can he thumbprint on where he's to sign? Will USCIS accept thumbprint instead of my father's signature? Please help me

My case got approved in April and now my lawyer is saying my case has not been moved to the NVC so now I have to file the I-824 form to force them to send it to the to the nvc.
She says some people paper work gets lossed at uscis that is why we have to do this

For me the date in the I-797 is 2/27/2024 but the approval date of my I-130 on the USCIS account says 02/29/2024.
