Wet Fly Fishing for Wild Welsh Dee Brown Trout

I made a short trip to fish the Welsh Dee above Llangollen and was rewarded with a few wild brown trout that were caught fishing a team of wet flies (size 14 large dark olive nymph, size 14 black hopper (wet) and size 14 pearly butt Waterhen Bloa).

Lovely, I’ve never tried wet flies only dry or nymphs might be worth a go

Been looking through your website and it's massively informative, so thank you for taking the time for putting it together. I am planning on taking my son up to Llangollen on Friday afternoon fly fishing for 1st, he is the fisherman, me not. Is there beat you would recommend, ideally from the bank or very shallow wading in wellies for him. He will be fishing for trout. Thanks

The upper beat has a few pools that can be fished from the bank, Dee Farm, The run above the glide pool, Pipe pool, Horseshoe Falls pool. hop this helps, Andrew
