- Sorry for audio kerfluffles. Had the overhead fan running. Summer is a fiend!
A slim titanium handle and wicked sharp replaceable blades make the Civivi "Mandate" the first official entry in the U.S. market of modern, "box cutters". You've seen em on Aliexpress - now get one in your hands, warranty and all!

Great review. Unscrew the button all the way off, remove the back screw. Pull the blade off and replace. Reverse steps to re-assemble.
Thanks for the tip!
I've never seen this until now. Thank you for the review. I'm kinda digging this box cutter. Im definitely going to check this out
Thanks for watching!
This is made for opening packages.. period
You change the blade in the fully open position.. just unscrew the knob... also the blades can be sharpened
CAN YOU USE THE OLFA CKB-2 BLADES ... PLEASE GUYS THEY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME ?
Nice video! I like the tool/knife, hope they make different blades in the near future!
Yep, some of the replaceable blades on Aliexpress look really neat. Hope they bring some over for sale.
Although it looks and opens like a snap-off blades box cutter, that blade stock is a least twice as thick. Unless heavily damaged or dulled I don't know why you couldn't strop it back to a razor edge and save the replacement blades, particularly the Damascus one....
Great review, as I can order one now, but hedging.
Also found replacement blades that look compatible called Olfa CKB-2, they are somewhat available. Not that you could walk into walmart and pick them up, but still orderable online.
@@CoyoteEDC Those are basically the same design as the Civivi ones and you can find them on Nitecore's website, too. They make a very similar type of box opener that uses these style of blades.
Hey man, great review! Just so you know, the blade steel is 9CR18MOV which is much better than 9CR13 because it has 5% more chromium which is good for corrosion resistance as well as it makes it stronger because it gets rid of some iron.
Thank you, I realized it after I made the video, that I said the wrong steel the whole time! They put the text on the blade so small I didn't catch it during the filming.
coyotetrails yeah I totally get that lol they love putting the steel really tiny on their blades
I'm really impressed with civivi
Standard replacement blade from Olfa. Cat # CKB-2. No need to go to Civivi. Why replace them anyway? You can sharpen (and strop) these things just like any other blade, to a crazy razor edge. I use this knife for leatherwork, and its great. Still on the first blade, sharpened many times. Far better than any snap-off types.
Yup, I snapped the tip off of one of my blades, and just ground it down and resharpened it. Still doing great.
Awesome review! Just got mine.
Do you notice there’s a touch of play when the blade is fully open even when the buttons cranked down ? I’ve find all my OTF utility knives, even the titanium ones, still have a hair of play.
Yes, definitely play. I don't really consider it a bad thing with a utility knife though
Good stuff
Will an Olfa craft knife blade replacement work?
Excellent review, thank you! 👍
They definitely appear to be the same. I haven't tried yet though, so not 100% sure.
coyotetrails thanks!
No Olfa can’t put in
Wow! That is actually badass. Please tell me there are replacements
There are cheaper utility blade replacements. I haven't ordered any fancy ones, shipping from China is taking too long right now.
Could you link the blades on Ali express? I can’t find them. Thanks.

I haven't bought these, so no guarantee they fit right. Search for CKB-2 blades.
@@CoyoteEDC Thank you.
Can they clip be removed? I'd rather carry this on my keychain.
You would probably have to open it up, looks like it is screwed in from the inside. I haven't looked in there yet though!
I figured this thing was a lot smaller than it is.
It is fairly big for what it is!
Civivi says it's raindrop Damascus
Same as the McKenna
Just undue the little knob to change them
When I figured out how easy it was I kicked myself for not mentioning it in the video 🤦
I just got the black version and I am very happy with it. Very nice design and the pocket clip is nice. And there is one that is made by Nitecore and it is, also, full titanium and comes with OLFA CKB-2 and they are the same pattern as the blades you get. www.nitecorestore.com/ntk10-titanium-utility-knife-p/acc-nite-knife-ntk10.htm
do Olfa CKb 2 blades fit in this?
Yes I believe so
These need to be compatible with standard blades, otherwise there's no guarantee you'll be able to keep using it. That's my biggest issue with these, otherwise I'd get one.
I've been on the fence over this same issue since I saw these announced. Maybe when they make one confirmed to use OLFA XB34 blades, I'll buy it.
@@phoenix4ever367 yeah, I've seen other ones that take those blades, they really should do that with these
From the looks of it, the blade looks like an Olfa's CKB-2, so my guess is a CKB-2 will fit into this frame
Bro... Its a blade, just sharpen it duh bro cmon
You can get blades at blade hq... plus these can be sharpened
U unscrew then replace and screw back. Like most
It was really easy!
Dude, unscrew the thumb push. It so obvious.
Looks like "fake" damascus
Its real civivi doesn't make fake flea market crap
