    The only thing I remember about this franchise is that they were afraid of offending the Chinese Communist Party, so they changed the big bad to North Korea and swapped the enemy uniform insignia. I still find that hilarious for some reason.

      I needed to play the Main story 4 TIMES for the PLATIN TROPHY, because there were 1-2 GAMEBREAKING BUGS in 1-2 playthroughs. Was it worth it? Freaking YES. I'm one of the 0.1% who endured all the pain, and who were PERSISTENT. Outside of that, I waited for the Game since the trailer, and I was hyped. It's one of the best Atmospheres I Experienced. The ground ideas are sick, like green, yellow, and red zones, typcial side stuff to do, and certain OSTs are really good. I played the COOP-MODE, and I was often the best in points. I played a certain LMG (forgot the name) and my aim was like on point too, Because I freaking felt this Game & COOP-Mode, playing with other players to fullfill the Theme of this Game: "As Resistance".

    I enjoyed every title in the Homefront series. Each had their own charm. Mixing a little open world combat with run and gun action dabbled with some basic RPG leveling and unlocks for new tech gear or upgrades to weapons. I find it satisfying to be the underdog and have to slowly take over sectors one by one, and as you progress you can actually see real evidence of change. As some areas devolve into open anarchy and chaos due to your actions. So the world is evolving based upon your actions. I am not saying it is the best game of all time. And it has its shortcomings and bugs at times. But overall, I find it a very satisfying game I still spool up now and then for some basic fun.

    Hilarious video, you pretty much nailed this game to a tee; a mostly nonsensical story with bland characters, but has surprisingly solid gameplay minus occasional bugs. The gun-swapping system, while silly, is so satisfying to use while on the run, so is making pipe-bombs and Molotov's. It's one of the few games that really makes you feel like you're an underground revolutionary fighter, rather than a friggin unstoppable terminator. The game just needs more guns, more vehicles, some RC drones and the ability to shoot down some airships and it'd be perfect.

The game is actually great and has great potential, the only problem is the lack of action in between missions but thats up to you. Personally I would just do only missions and not focus on capturing the Strategic points. The game has a great story, if they made a remake with the same story but longer and a different end, better gunplay and graphisms. Cause remember this game wasnt made in 2024 so ofc compared to games nowadays it sucks. But its in fact enjoyable.

      @DarthMcDoomington 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Short version: Get it while it's on special for 20$ maximum. Don't expect the most polished game, a good story or anything resembling originality. The game's at it's best when you're avoiding airship spotlights, hiding from patrols or looking for a way into an enemy outpost with no bugs ruining it.
      Long version: Having played it, it is and isn't underrated. No one has really done "urban Far Cry" better (including the better polished but not all that urban Far Cry 6), you can enter quite a few buildings, hide behind civilians realistically and use trash bins and outdoor toilets to hide in. But at the same time the game can get really buggy and the story is absolute shit. It's not as bad as the original Homefront but that's not saying much.
      If you don't care about the story and can go without facepalming, dying from laughter or facepalming to while dying of laughter at the fact the rebels nickname for North Koreans is "norks" then Homefront: The Revolution is an okay time waster. It's good for when you don't want to break out the good stuff to play. There's also a few really weird gameplay decisions like how switching weapons works and again, the game can get really buggy.
      Also, how taking over outposts works is pretty weird. In Far Cry 3 you kill all the guards and your allies take over, in Homefront: The Revolution you complete a specific objective, but while some cases make sense others are really arbitary and weird. How is find radios and tuning into a different station supposed to help or a requirement to take over an empty building? The devs couldn't think of a better objective, that's how.

    5:05 Dambuster Studios was a Crisis developer and made 2 and 3. They began the development of Homefront the Revolution as Crytek UK before Crytek went bankrupt and sold UK and the IP to Deep Silver where they were rebranded to Deep Silver Dambuster Studios. That transition really fucked over the development as they lost 2/3rds of the team as Crytek stopped paying devs and laying others off.

Look man you liked it thats fine i could care less if you enjoy playing with a turd nugget on the game, thats your problem not ours. My issue with this statement is that you said this as if we dint have a right to protest against the game, well YAAA and one of the main reasons was because of how broken it was not to mention the state that it was release on consoles. dude think about it.

      That's something that drives me crazy about a lot of gamers any more how few technical issues it takes for a game to be written off as broken, Was it technically perfect? No but the occasional issue which other then the few seconds of freezing while saving were rare doesn't make a game broken.

      @christiamcruz7454 2 ปีที่แล้ว

It wasn't smaller bugs that surrounded the game, it was game breaking bugs that were there when they came out like game crashes, froze, screen tering, bad AI, enemys disappearing, cars getting stuck constantly, getting caugh on terrain, this game unfortunately it was one of the worst games that came in 2016 because of how unoptimized it was you clown. I one time as a kid got my momma to buy this game off of ebay, and when it came it played perfectly and I had a blast.. then halfway through the game it glitched so bad it became unplayable. I looked everywhere for solutions and eventually figured out that its common for the game to glitch permanently if it has been copyrighted (for you younger folks, meaning someone took the game and copied it onto a blank disk. Kinda like how people do with bootleg movies.) Anyway I took the game out of my Xbox at the time and looked at the disk. I should have known. Stupid, naaive kid me. The part of the disk that shows the game your playing was holding on to the burner CD disk by some type of glue... I admit whoever copied the game onto the burner disk did a great job. It worked, it's just the games company has it where copyrighted versions glitch permanently. Still shocked to this day when I found out about it. I mean, you never really could think that could happen unless you get hit with the problem to look it up.. I still haven't bought games online through mail from Un trustworthy sources.

    I worked on the original before THQ when under so my NDA is null and void.
    The original sequel concept was to take place in NYC, using the sky scrapers as interconnected mini communities.
    One other idea he had for was to link Single player story and coop/mp together where let's say in in coop if there was a mission to blow up a bridge, it would happen in single player and you would get the other pov of it.
    I still remember the art, good times.
