Here are things i hate about some people (in gaming): 1. Some people don't now how the game works, doesn't know about the glitches and tells it's cheating. 2. Some people tell TAS'ing is cheating and hacking and don't know it actually means Tool Assisted Speedrun (which actually means they just edit some parts and remove some parts). And many more... So please, if you don't know what are the things are in the video(or mainly the game) just go learn it and then talk about it. Don't tell a glitch or TAS'ing cheating without learning about them.
***** I think either you lack common sense, or you have been gravely misinformed about the meaning of TAS, especially since YOU YOURSELF said that it means to edit/remove some parts. This clearly means that they could have edited/remove parts in the video where they hit enemies or died, or also just remove select parts of the video so that it seems they beat it in a faster time, but also without making it obvious that the video was retooled. In essence, they are more than likely taking credit for an accomplishment that they didn't in fact achieve, or more specifically that they didn't achieve on their own.
Wrestler X Players who do speedruns like this are actually really good at the game so no one really much expects them to die. They do TAS'ing for making longer parts shorter like where they are trying a glitch and after a long time it finally works. So they don't do things like removing deaths in TAS's and they don't usually die. If they die they make another speedrun starting from the start. So TAS'ing is mainly about making long parts that could have taken shorter short parts.
English: To all of you that are saying "HAXURS" and "JURK U CHITED", this game is very old and is not perfect, the hitboxes arent perfect, like the ones for the piranha plants, they are much more smaller than it looks, and for the walljump thing, this game has a glitch that lets you walljump, but you must be very, VERY, accurate to do so, only 1 frame to achieve it, also... (dun dun duuun) READ THE DESCRIPTInN!!
People saying is fake clearly never have played this game at this level, there are a lot of glitches, and if you never tried to do some of them you can't understand that some of the "impossible" things you see are totally possible because the game allow it, have your ever made the infinite lives trick? have you ever made Mario shoot when he is small? have you ever enter to -1 level?
I'm a trolling idiot who didn't look at the description, but am going to enforce my opinion that he cheated anyways, and even if i am proven wrong i'll be too indignant and arrogant to listen.
Best action movie of the last 5 years. The stretch from 2:10 to 3:00 on level 8-1 was the most impressive. I would usually die at least twice on that level.
Oh the internet, always looking to pick a fight with completely legitimate play. These are the same methods used in other world record runs (except for the bullet bill one, I think that is newer) The 1-frame precision does make it seem fake, but anyone experienced in understanding speedruns knows this is legit and near perfect. (What is the TAS for this game? I think humans are getting close) I think the only flawed part of this run was at 8-3 where he ended up not making the first cycle for the 21-frame Rule for level transition (dunno if there is a first cycle for the level)
idk why im responding to a 6 year old comment, but to clarify the 8-3 thing, he intentionally slowed down because finishing the level in 243, the fastest possible time, yields the firework animation which wastes time, by slowing down to 242 and hitting the top of the flagpole, you save more time
This was pretty good nice work. These people don't realize that a speed run is to be as fast as possible it doesn't mean you have to clear every single thing. It's all about the time XD.
I've seen over 50+ comments with "OH ME GAWSH HESH HAUCKNG AN CHTING LOK AT PLNTS!" just stop please. Look at description before you make a stupid comment.
The timing for TAS is different than for real time speedruns. TAS starts timing from the moment the console is switched on until the last input. Real time speedruns are timed from the moment you gain control over the character (several seconds after powering up the console) until you lose control (hitting the switch after jumping over Bowser). The real difference is about 3 seconds, which is still tiny!
@LordSaradoc What's the input like in 1-2 when you jump over the turtle at 0:48? Is that just a single frame button press? I've been able to imitate everything here (although not in succession) except that jump. How do you hold the controller? If you are thumbing a single frame jump I'm in complete awe.
+jefffe82 He was playing this on an emulator and I assume he used to keyboard for it. You can actually download the input file and watch it on FCEUX 2.2.1 to see all inputs he made. The Input File is linked in the description. And the FCEUX emulator can be found here: tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources.html. As for the jump: It's not frame perfect, but the timing window is very small.
Thanks for the responses guys! I really appreciate the help. I've had a lot of fun learning how to run this game, but for whatever reason I hadn't been able to duplicate those jumps before. With new resolve and using my index and middle fingers I was able to duplicate that jump(s) with some consistency. If you don't mind giving another question or more advice: When I succeed in glitching the warp in 4-2 it seems random. I've not been able to pin point exactly what I'm doing that makes it successful. I've read the wikis and understand that you want to 'fool' the game into moving Mario away from the center of the screen and farther to the right by backwards jumping and hitting a block or wall, but, for me it seems inconsistent. Is there something that you look for or do that makes it more consistent? Can you point out the spot that switches the warp from the vine to the pipe? Thanks again.
+jefffe82 I managed to pull it off on emulator, you just need the right timing. I'm not actually sure if it's single frame but when I jump over the koopa sometimes I bounce on the goombas in succession.
Some of the commenters here didn't play enough Mario to know that you can run across gaps(which I was really shocked because I thought everybody knows it) and of course the hitboxes of the piranha plants.
For something to start with, sure. You can also try to compare yourself with the TASes listed at TASvideos. On that site you can also find a lot of guides and information.
The Rom I'm playing on an NES emulator doesn't take me to the same place it takes this video at minute marker 2:00. Basically, it doesn't take me to world 8-1
It's a glitch. By jumping backwards into things (like shown in the video, he does this three times) Mario moves slightly off-center to the right, and by doing this he tricks the game into thinking he's going up the vine when he's actually going down the pipe.
***** The pipe gets its exit from the vine because the screen is subtly scrolled a bit too little forward (i.e. Mario is closer to the right edge of the screen than he should). Had the screen scrolled further, the pipe would take Mario to another location in 4-2 instead. This is achieved as ***** wrote.
hmmm, this needs to be done in real NES NTSC harsware to be counted as a record. Emulators are prone to modifications; even as it is congrats, quite impresive.
There is literally no advantage to him doing it on emulator. He didn't use save states and had nothing over console at all. He streamed his attempts live and it's legit the EXACT same as console. They are both a level playing field and it's just as impressive.
***** Yes and no. There are no practical differences, but they aren't exactly the same: like 99.99999%. Definitely directly comparable. However, the control set is where it gets tricky. I think it should be listed on the same leaderboard but noted as either console or emulator. The more I think about the whole situation, the more I feel like emulator runners will have an issue in the future: Left+Right and Up+Down are not possible with a normal NES controller. They are valid inputs (as seen on TASvideos), but are banned. But you can do these inputs on emulator without modification of say a keyboard. In which case, I can see someone justify the use of it for emulator gameplay, but not console. Which is a big issue for this game as 8-3 can be improved by 0.7 if you allow Left+Right input. I honestly think in the future emulator runs will allow for this, and be quite an issue.

Really nice peformance perfect jumps running and great use of techniques like the screen one that transitions you without the rope or the bullet one and so on
@@seams4186 i said it ten years too early lol. Maybe now it is true…? It’s possible that some kid out there right now who hasn’t gotten into speedrunning yet, in the next ten years is destroying even niftski’s 4:54 times. Or that some tech no one has found yet will break it even further. It’s always possible some crazy glitch exists in an old game that’s already been researched to death, simply sitting there waiting for someone to find it.
1:59 how does he get to the warp zone without going up the vine? I don't mean to sound overly critical, but I have played this game plenty of times, and I know that you have to go up the vine in order to get to the warp zone in 4-2. Otherwise you will just beat the level normally.
Wrestler X Also, WTF is going on with the flagpole at 3:29? I am not sure if that is a technical glitch or what, but whatever it is it clearly cuts some time off of his run, which would be impossible for anyone else who was playing the game to achieve unless they just happened to experience the exact same glitch for some reason. Long story short, there is absolutely no way this dude can take credit for completing the game in record time, when the fact is he simply got lucky.
Wrestler X he timed it while waiting on the staircase so that the bullet was there, and he jumped for the bottom of the flagpole instead of the top on purpose, and for that reason. it wasn't luck, it was part of his strategy.
Michael S Excuse me, but just who the hell do you think you are? For your information the point I was trying to make is that it is impossible to beat this game in under the said time without employing any type of "glitches" or "secrets" that the typical player would not normally know about or be able to use (e.g. the average player would not necessarily know the location of hitbox(es) or be able to evade them). It's that simple. Likewise, whether you want to believe it or not, this video is tool-assisted, which means that they actually did NOT beat the game in that amount of time without the aid of an emulator or another device which has made it appear that they beat it in a given amount of time. This along with the glitches is all more evidence of my point.
Wrestler X Glitches are part of the game, as they can be executed with just the raw game. And because of that reason they are allowed to be used in speedruns to beat the game as quickly as possible. Defining what a glitch is or not is a very hard process. Some things have even been mentioned by Nintendo, Shigeru Miyamoto in my example, that they are "more like features" and not glitches. They also included things like walljumping in their official strategy guide for SMB3, which would indicate that it is "hidden move for expert players to use". And for the record: While this run was recorded with an emulator, no tools were used in the run. "believe it or not"

Speedrunning is about entertainment. some people would rather see all the levels completed, hence warpless. What matters is that the speedrunners agree on rules (timing method, allowed actions) and that the runner and viewer enjoy it. Should check out the low% run, interesting bit of gameplay.
The amazing thing about this game was that the AI was - well not there yet and as such if your timing was above par you could actually play this game blindfolded!
Wish these 'hitboxes' were this great when I played it. Sometimes I died without even touching the plant (while jumping over it). 4:48 you even see the last flame go through Marios head.
If you've died jumping over it, you probably timed it wrong and hit the corner of a hit box in the stem. I do that a lot, it kinda tricks you into think the hit boxes are much larger
Someone pleaseee help me. Level 1.2 is the only one I can't speed run somewhat consistently because on my PAL version 0:48 the turtle thingy is too far under the bricks for me to jump over him 99% of the time. WWHHYY?? IDK what's fake or real anymore but anyone who questions the jumping over piranha plants is a noob and needs to learn about collision detection, you can jump over em or even stand on the edge of pipes and they cannot touch you as a pixel is just a pixel it's the code behind it that matters.
***** If I keep restarting eventually there's a tiny gap that lets me jump enough for the game to see it as a shell hit and kills the turtle but it's so frustrating having to replay level 1-1 over and over just in hopes of a lucky 1-2.
You don't have to hop across one-block gaps, you can just run across them. This is true even in the newest 2D Mario games. And about him getting hit, it's not like he totally ran through them. Just because he's touching the sprite doesn't mean he's touching the hitbox. Just read the links in the description, it's more in-depth than I can type here.
Alex Foxx he didnt just barely touch the sprite he went straight through them and he got hit by a bunch of other crap and plus this isnt even a speed run because he used warp zones
Samuel Dyer are u stupid read the description the hit boxes are set out and touching a sprite is nothing it's The hit in that kills u not the the sprite is like a place marker for a hitbox
I don’t know how anyone didn’t caught this but at 2:17 Mario touched the top of the piranha plant. Shouldn’t he had died when he touched it? Edited: Also look at 2:00.
This run is a perfect example of a run that goes under 5 minutes other than in 8-1 when he doesnt do the second pipe jump and has to do a frame perfect jump to avoid losing time
No because of the physics of the game he moves faster when moving in the opposite direction of which he is facing and when he jumps right but faces left when you hit the top he faces left for longer therefore saving time
Wow. Just wow. Not at the video but at the massive amount of people calling this a bot and a TAS and a hack. Most of which probably didn't watch the stream either way but whatever. TH-cam is always gonna be youtube I guess.
Quick question though, how did you get to that mushroom area in 4-2? I went down the same pipe and it sent me somewhere else. Could it be a region thing?
glitch. by moving mario to the right side of the screen by bumping into some walls in some very specific ways, you can get into the mushroom area using that pipe. if you don't want to perform the glitch, just hit some invisible blocks that are after the elevator to make a staircase, then hit one of the blocks to spawn a vine. just climb up the vine and you'll be right there at the start of the mushroom area. hope this helped :)

***** What you thought was a TAS is probably a segmented speedrun, from what you described.

To all of you that are saying "HAXURS" and "JURK U CHITED", this game is very old and is not perfect, the hitboxes arent perfect, like the ones for the piranha plants, they are much more smaller than it looks, and for the walljump thing, this game has a glitch that lets you walljump, but you must be very, VERY, accurate to do so, only 1 frame to achieve it, also...

Tienes toda la razón, la principal discusión ahora es la del juego real vs la emulación, a mi parecer creo que no tienes validez si no lo realiza en el juego real (consola) con un controlador de NES
You run straight up to win and beat the whole game like a legend :)) Very fast! And something in this video I never saw before!
You did it. And with the bullet glitch. Congrats on achieving the most unbeatable run of history.
It is beatable
2 seconds. 5 yrs.
3 seconds. 9 yrs.
Explain 4:33 since when does Mario have double jumps?
Since smash bros lol
es verdad tipo matriz lo hizo
Translated it he said true Martin guy did
ethan smith
It says "true matrix type did"
he jumps off the brick that the pipe is on
People saying is fake clearly never have played this game at this level, there are a lot of glitches, and if you never tried to do some of them you can't understand that some of the "impossible" things you see are totally possible because the game allow it, have your ever made the infinite lives trick? have you ever made Mario shoot when he is small? have you ever enter to -1 level?
I'm a trolling idiot who didn't look at the description, but am going to enforce my opinion that he cheated anyways, and even if i am proven wrong i'll be too indignant and arrogant to listen.
Is this bait?
Piranha plants hitbox isn't good in the first super Mario
Best action movie of the last 5 years. The stretch from 2:10 to 3:00 on level 8-1 was the most impressive. I would usually die at least twice on that level.
I think everyone commenting with a complaint is 12.
It's like pushing a door that says "pull".
There's a description for a reason.
You, Sir, are the most amazing person I have ever seen. Have a box of cookies!
I think humans are getting close)
I think the only flawed part of this run was at 8-3 where he ended up not making the first cycle for the 21-frame Rule for level transition (dunno if there is a first cycle for the level)
Verlisify Blah blah blah
Verlisify .
idk why im responding to a 6 year old comment, but to clarify the 8-3 thing, he intentionally slowed down because finishing the level in 243, the fastest possible time, yields the firework animation which wastes time, by slowing down to 242 and hitting the top of the flagpole, you save more time
Anyone else let out a little yelp when he jumps through the pirahna plants?
You are not alone...
Seems impossible
It's actually a really easy trick.
And when he stands on the pipe next to them, didn't know that was possible!
It's all about timing :)
Just wondering, how many seconds does the glitch at 3:25 save?
Wow, I noticed that the previous world record holder didnt make use of this. Did you discover this glitch?
Ahh. Even so hats off to you for using it to help push the envelope and make a seemingly indominable record be broken. :)
This is awesome. My friends and I would do speed runs all the time. Usually died on 8-2 and then started being careful or reset.
None-TAS run of super mario Brothers. The current TAS record is 04:57.31. so it is only 0.38 of a second difference - WHICH IS 19 FRAMES!
The timing for TAS is different than for real time speedruns. TAS starts timing from the moment the console is switched on until the last input. Real time speedruns are timed from the moment you gain control over the character (several seconds after powering up the console) until you lose control (hitting the switch after jumping over Bowser). The real difference is about 3 seconds, which is still tiny!
how the hell do you get sooo close to the piranha plants and fire chains without losing a life? i cant get remotely that close with out losing a life
AKRON DUDE
+ipapu papaz what up ipapu :D
the sprites overlap, but the hitboxes dont.
yeh i was gonna say that
hey Darbian has a better time try to beat it its only 0:0:600 far from your score
Oh man, I feel so bad for the guy who held the previous world record. He even said it was unbeatable.
Very impressive run. Awesome to see someone do the bullet bill glitch. Any plans for getting 4:57 on console as well?
fast forward to 2018. just pick one: www.speedrun.com/smb1
I now get why people love speed runs. that was awesome
3:29 WTF?!? that's a new one for me
It’s bullet bill glitch.
I'll give it a try! Thanks again!
Ker Pagaduan As a kid i was scared but then i figured out you could do that xD
Well you're a kid too, if you knew that.
You're a kid until 18, mate.
+Mr. Skeleton So you are the hardcore guy who calls everybody nigga?
+Mr. Skeleton
It's kind of obvious you're a kid...
Silly question: I'm bored and feel like trying to TAS, would this be a good video to try and fuck around and beat?
For something to start with, sure. You can also try to compare yourself with the TASes listed at TASvideos. On that site you can also find a lot of guides and information.
Tompa A Alright, thanks!
Kinkzoz Yeah, this is hard as fuck to beat. (But theres someone who actually beat this score.)
Well done! :D This is one of the best runs of any game I've seen in quite some time.
It kinda looked like he jumped right on top of one of the piranha plants in the second stage and didn't get hurt ...
bloodlover1987 they have super small hit boxs in this game.
The regular NTSC game has the exact same small hitbox....
Absolutely indredible! That was the most entertaining not-five minutes of Mario I've ever watched.
Spud.
I would love it if people could take a second to read the description before yelling HACKS! GODMODE! FAKE AND GAY! AIMBOT!
Good job speedrunner.
lol, aimbot. :P
The frame-perfect jump over the goombas in 8-1... This run is legendary

i did not know there was a high jump and low jump button!!! but the last time i played this game was like 93 + easy to forget when your 8. yea i remember all the levels and how i run into stuff (thought i die cuz i knew i hit them) and make it out the other side. still i think this is legit especially if you ever seen top times on something like trials evolution (it make you say WTF i thought i was good).
All jumps are controlled with a, you just have to hold it and b down together.
you shall hold the buttons for higher jump...
i have a WR on trials evolution, for the s.p.h.e.r.e mini game, i don't like mentioning it haha but here is my run. /watch?v=TMdvQql4tyY but yeah fuck knows how these ppl get those times on the bikes, seems a bit tool assisted to me.
hack
no its called skill
I facepalm at all the "fake" comments. There's a GOD DAMN description, READ IT.
How do you get that timer? I really want to konw because that thing is frame perfect and beatiful.
If you search up something along the lines of "FCEUX speedrun timer super mario bros" you'll find the script for it. I have no clue how to actually install it though"

WOW! That 8-bit action was intense! No joke!
1:58 He jumps right through the second plant
The hit boks on the plants are really weird, as longs as you dont hit the stem of the plant, you wont die
MrFreonize He also runs into the fire obstacles
multiple times on the water part of the last level
NoLife Bros. it's a really old game, full of bugs and wieldly placed hitboxes witch speedrunners like to take advantage of
Just read the description

Really nice peformance perfect jumps running and great use of techniques like the screen one that transitions you without the rope or the bullet one and so on
Is it even possible to beat the record? I mean without the credit warp, since he didn't use it here.
***** Kk, just tried to be smart :D
***** What the name of the person that got the faster time?
EggwardPolska ᴰᵉˢᶦᵍᶰ Well, you failed as hard as you could at trying.
I believe the credits warp is from SMW for SNES.
Probably not
@@LordSaradoc now are the days where 2 people got a 4:55
The only way this could be optimized further is by not playing it at all.
This is incredible. Good job!
redserenade Do you believe it?
What do you think now? Crazy how this looks clunky
Level: Asian
Omg I agree with you 100% ^_^
***** DUDUUDUDUDUDUDUDUUDUDUDUDU
Level: nazi
yes.
I’m Asian and did this exact comment but with the level replaced with "difficulty" people called me racist lmao
You are one stupid human being. The glitch from thr flagpole was from the bullet. Anyone can do that lol use common sense
"believe it or not"
I wanna see somebody do this without using any warp zones.
2:34 How the hell he rund over that?
you can always run over those 1 block gaps...
Lol,if you never knew about that one that means you never played SMB. LOL
Have you played SMB? I mean i haven't but i know about it.
Magic :P
Welcome to basic Mario mechanics.
My brain cells died after reading most of the comments.
Years ago, I played a version of this game on a old red Nintendo , all of worlds and levels were underwater in Mario. I'm looking for the name of that game to download. But I couldn't find it. Does anyone know about it?
Which system was that? And which year?
@@anthonybenci9035 hi, I'm not sure, it was red and white, look like Nintendo Famicom.
But in my country There were many unofficial and copied consoles made in China and Taiwan in those years. About 15، 20 years ago.
@@anthonybenci9035 but I know it was 8 bit system.
And I'm sure wasn't dendy
Because dendy didn't made red and white colors systems like Nintendo Famicom.
TNx for your time man.
As my research goes, the red and white console is probably an actual Famicom or a ‘Family Game’, which is one of the Chinese ones you mentioned.
As for games, I can’t seem to find any Mario games which are ‘All underwater’ as you say. Both SMB1 and SMB3 have water levels, but not all of them are.
i feel bad now for playing this game for years when i was young and he nailed it in under 5 minutes :D

That jumping sound sure gets annoying.
OMG IM SO SICK OF THIS, STOP SAYING "it's impossaburrrr" OR "Fake" AND READ THE DESCRIPTION PLZ
at 4:23 shouldn't he be dead cuz the plant was still outside the pipe? It just disappeared as soon as he jumped. Is this a glitch or something?
jesus i tought they meant hours
know this video is like 3 years old now but if there's still people comments like "HAX UR CHITER GO KILL URSELF!!!1111!!11" I have on question. HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED THE GAME YOURSELF! ALSO READ THE DESCRSIPTION
Does it really count as "beating the game" if you skip half the levels?
Yeah, you beat final Bowser to beat the game, so that's OK.
What part of "Speedrun" do you not understand?
There is a warpless catagory, records about 19 minutes long.
I was under the impression that speedrunning only meant that you had to finish the game as fast as you can, not to completion.
Speedrunning is about entertainment. some people would rather see all the levels completed, hence warpless.
What matters is that the speedrunners agree on rules (timing method, allowed actions) and that the runner and viewer enjoy it.
Should check out the low% run, interesting bit of gameplay.
Oh my god.. they beat it.. there were only a few frames to save anyway and yet he did it.. incredible. Good job!
Don't get mad if you're bad at the game.
Actually I can do it too and it's not hard.
If you've died jumping over it, you probably timed it wrong and hit the corner of a hit box in the stem. I do that a lot, it kinda tricks you into think the hit boxes are much larger
Plush Hah.
You were just bad at it haha
My whole childhood in 5 minutes :3
Someone pleaseee help me. Level 1.2 is the only one I can't speed run somewhat consistently because on my PAL version 0:48 the turtle thingy is too far under the bricks for me to jump over him 99% of the time. WWHHYY?? IDK what's fake or real anymore but anyone who questions the jumping over piranha plants is a noob and needs to learn about collision detection, you can jump over em or even stand on the edge of pipes and they cannot touch you as a pixel is just a pixel it's the code behind it that matters.
it's been 12minutes and no reply. You call yourself speed runners? heh.
*****
If I keep restarting eventually there's a tiny gap that lets me jump enough for the game to see it as a shell hit and kills the turtle but it's so frustrating having to replay level 1-1 over and over just in hopes of a lucky 1-2.
im calling hacks because you diffident even hop over one block jumps and you keep getting hit and couldn't die
Lmao do you even know what a speed run is?
yes i do and it means taht u dont use warp zones, hacks,or glitches u do the hole game legit so.sir bkgvcuvu SK do u know what a speed run is?
i'm thinking he cheated cause look how close he got to the piranha plants he practicality touched them
CAN YOU PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION OF THE VIDEO
ok ok my own neglect got me there i am sorry but you gotta admit it looks pretty suspicious how he touched the plants
yo no la puedo leer xD
ok but then why at some points in the video did he cross spaces without jumping?
HoPe Clan You can actually run over the one space gaps without falling.
Is this something you put on your resume?
You have no own interests, or what?
I don’t know how anyone didn’t caught this but at 2:17 Mario touched the top of the piranha plant. Shouldn’t he had died when he touched it?
Edited: Also look at 2:00.

The hitbox is different in super mario bros. on the nes.
bro only in the newer games that happens
@hagollow1620 ok
This run is still WR in my heart.
CAN YOU PEOPLE NOT READ THE DESCRIPTION
Gosh, people you not only don't read the description, BUT also post prettymuch the same comments. LEARN TO READ!
This run is a perfect example of a run that goes under 5 minutes other than in 8-1 when he doesnt do the second pipe jump and has to do a frame perfect jump to avoid losing time
This is fake tho. Pause at 03:45, you can CLEARLY see that half of mario is through that plant. You usually die even before touching it.
It's called hitboxes
I think that it would be faster if you catch the lower part of the flag.
Read the movie's description.
read the description.
No because of the physics of the game he moves faster when moving in the opposite direction of which he is facing and when he jumps right but faces left when you hit the top he faces left for longer therefore saving time
if by "catch" you mean do the flagpole glitch that's true and people did it later on
Wow. Just wow. Not at the video but at the massive amount of people calling this a bot and a TAS and a hack. Most of which probably didn't watch the stream either way but whatever. TH-cam is always gonna be youtube I guess.
Wow. Just shut up
Quick question though, how did you get to that mushroom area in 4-2? I went down the same pipe and it sent me somewhere else. Could it be a region thing?
Nope glitch
glitch. by moving mario to the right side of the screen by bumping into some walls in some very specific ways, you can get into the mushroom area using that pipe. if you don't want to perform the glitch, just hit some invisible blocks that are after the elevator to make a staircase, then hit one of the blocks to spawn a vine. just climb up the vine and you'll be right there at the start of the mushroom area. hope this helped :)
I felt all that nostalgic gaming anxiety come rushing back to me the whole time I was watching this!
4:32 DID MARIO WALLJUMP?
yeah
OMG
There is a small pixel ledge right there that allows you to get up there
MOM: You got 5-mins to get in that bed!
BOY: okay!
I'm glad this is just video and no bs commentary. 10/10.
