From what I learned from other sites only small number or GR86 will be produced so it won't be accessible as GT86 was yes they renamed it from GT to GR now Toyota has small set of GR models GR Yaris Corola Supra 86 and Land Crusier Yaris is 3cylender Rally car and its fun to drive all tho its bit expensive and I think it's for European markets only as we don't have Corolla as that was ment for American market also in my country when Manual Supra got out it was cheaper than auto for month and then it got to normal price problem is if u want Manual u can get it only in Top Trim 86 isn't in offer at all they have some leftover used GT86 automatic which are bit overpriced as for GR LC that big boy is for Arab markets
Yaris is a Mazda anyways. A90 Supra only exists because the deal with BMW that Toyota gave the hydrogen tech stuff from the Mirai to BMW to make an X5 Hybrid/Hydrogen... BMW got to make another generations of Z4s as a result. The Alfa Spider 128 was an Mazda MX5 in an Italian suit. Toyota might be the most sold cars in the world, but Mazda has the most in terms of being the "father"
I remember growing up in the 90s drooling over all the new JDM cars at the time and then when I was finally able to drive in the mid 2000s, they were all either discontinued or very boring. It was extremely disappointing! Me being more of a Nissan fan boy, I gained so much hope when the FR-S / BRZ was announced. It was a breathe of fresh air to see a new rwd car that was affordable and made for the enthusiast! I believe Toyota encouraged companies like Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Dodge, and Chevy to really go back into their roots and also gave every car enthusiast a light at the end of the tunnel! Great job Toyota 🫶
The markups on the new models around here are outrageous. $6K to $10K. Multiple dealerships trying to offer it for the same price as cars that objectively offer more. I owned a 2012 FR-S and loved the chassis. What I didn't like was the uninspiring engine and the door rattles.
It's more about driving feel and handling rather than horsepower and acceleration. The AE86 it was based on wasn't exactly fast either. Miatas were also slow af. These cars became cult classics for a reason, and that reason was not speed. As they always say - it's much more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
