Bow Hunting Groundhogs from a Treehouse! (catch and cook)

- I trap groundhogs out of these holes every year, but have never thought of hunting them from a treehouse. When I have tried groundhog hunting with my bow before, I have always set out a blind and waited for them to come out.

You’re going to do one of those flips out of that tree if you keep climbing old rickety tree stands! BTW, I’ve lost too many arrows from hogs getting in the hole after they’re hit! They work on squirrels and rabbits but hogs need a head shot! I now use old broadheads from deer season. If they fly well a little bend or loss of edge is not a big deal. They stick them to the ground or cut a monster hole that they don’t run from but no lost arrows!

Slow cook them in a crockpot to make them tender and fall off the bone, then you can do BBQ pulled "pork". I think they are just as good if not better than squirrel.

Yes, crockpot or pressure cooker is the best way. Makes the meat very tender.
You did remove the scent glands, right? I mean I assume you do. Just making sure cuz I’ve made that mistake before.

Ram cat smokes are the best they are super durable reasonably cheap don’t destroy the skin if you want to use it and very affective for small game like rabbits and anything up to foxes

Those springs are made for small game so if it hits the animal the springs will grab the animal fur and throw it if you are off your shot their good for squirrel
