That shot to the upper chest of the zombie with the Harpoon was all it needed for me to say it's probably very deadly; especially at that short a range.
The sound of it scraping bone when he pulled the harpoon out made that message cristal clear
That headshot made it very clear for anyone who didn't realize how deadly those things can be, it went clean through that zombies skull!

They might be brass/tin cast. 3d printed PLA would likely be too soft. But, I am very curious to know the answer.

You should do one to see how good a bullet resistant vest does against the harpoon gun or crossbows you did previously
It might literally punch through, it would likely break ribs too. At least at closer range.
It would go straight through kevlar/fabric vests, possibly untreated steel too.
I doubt it would pass through hardened metal though

Great video once again. You ought to try a real line thrower though. The one on my ship during my time in the Navy(80-84) used a 45-70 blank.

@@markcurtis4465 yeah, this was before they made the mk 87 mod for the M14. The M14s in our armory were for ships defense and landing parties. Believe the mk 87 is still in use today.

10:00 - This is probably one of my favorite slow-mo shots from Kentucky Ballistics.... The green blood spray was what I expect from every slow-mo shot and this one did not disappoint. 😫😂
Edit: Maybe next time put the zombie against a tree then wrap the rope around him and the tree so it tightened down and cut it into pieces.... LoL

My 2 cents: those custom harpoon tips look like they were 3D printed with low infill density and with the layers perpendicular to the direction of travel, making them easy to break off. A higher density and better print direction would make for sturdier parts.
This is one big issue, but any filament based print unless post processed to strengthen it will still be weak at that size. There's things you can do to mitigate the weakness, but nothing will fully overcome it just due to the way it works.
That slow mo of the harpoon going threw its head was AWESOME the zombie blood splatter that shot out was way to cool . That slow mo deserves an award 👍

Not sure if you're doing your own printing or outsourcing. If you're looking for more strength, increasing the perimeter count does wonders. For parts that are going to encounter stress, I like to use no less than 5 perimeters. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the bangers!
Oh my goodness! Scott you just made my day. I have been hoping for months that you'd be making an appearance at NRAAM. I am bringing my little boy, Isaac to a firearms event for the first time. You are, by far, his favorite guntuber and Friday also happens to be his birthday. Outstanding video brother. I'm a Scuba diver and back in the day we had what was called Bang stick, which you can get in multiple calibers. 410/45/and others. Would love for you to show how powerful these are. We used them to worn off sharks.

Out of all your videos, this was the first time my skin crawled. Seeing and hearing the impact of that harpoon into the zombie torso just gave me the heebie Jeebies! Great video as always though. 👍🏻
I'm glad you did this, but you also really need to try rubber band spear guns. They are made for shooting underwater so the spear is much larger and are quite powerful. You should try and compare them to this one!
I had a pneumatic spear gun, for diving. Just for fun we shot it, on land, into a 2x4, which it split.
I would not want to be shot by it.
@@billh.1940 Yeah I love those. I've been spear fishing all my life and I've used everything from 50's to 150's, 1x, and 2x rubbers, and pneumatics. They are powerful, and spearing is the best hunting there is by far IMO.

Another fantastic video, Scott. Geez, the Iron Fist Harpoon crushed the entire skull (it divided the lower jaw in half). That's some AUTHORITY. The Poseidon Harpoon was good, but not enough. And i believe that the Jurassic one would have been crushed anyway.
well tbh these torsos are not really physical accurate. it's just stiff bones and gelatine with some intestines. The human body has way more than just skin and bones.
If you look closely, you'll even notice how fucked the vertebrae get. Like, good god, a man would definitely be dead after that.

I love both channels but your comment is just plain wrong . Demo ranch puts way more effort and production into nearly every video and the nearly 5x the amount of channel views compared to KB proves that as well as the actual content on offer . Don’t get my wrong KB is a awesome channel but demo ranch is at the top of this genre for now .

Here's something you could try. Put 9mm spent cartridge or the bullet alone into a .410 shell and see what it could do. Also the ball bearing inside of spray cans such as spray paint is very similar in size to 000 buck. Just some crazy idea I came up with while messing with all my spent cartridges.
A 9mm spent cartridge doesn't have weight to it. Maybe if you fill it with something

Of all the Kentucky Ballistics videos I have watched, hands down, the most terrifyingly dangerous thing I have ever seen is that table whipping around the tree and shooting off towards his truck. Okay, okay; maybe the Serbu .50 detonating into Scott's neck was a little worse, but that table was pretty scary.
