    Sanding does work a little better but I have put colors on controllers with Primer and Paint in one spray paint without Sanding and it works great.

      Not to be contrary, Im sure those controllers will flake the paint off after about a year or 2. I cannot stress enough "SAND YOUR MOTHER FUCKING PROJECTS!!!" and stuff.

      +Drumblanket you are probably right. I actually didn't even think about sanding until I saw your video. So the next one I do, I will be sanding for sure. Thanks for the info, love the videos.

    I discovered you today and subscribed of course, love the detail of your videos in how well you explain all phases. Just one thing bothers me a bit, maybe you could explain a bit more about the materials you use? I am not really able to find the exact same products here in Finland. I found a primer that says it doesn't adhere to polyesters, I guess that shouldnt be a problem?

    How do you recommend protecting the touch pad if/when you spray paint it. I know there's glue that keeps the electronic components to the actual button, is it very time sensitive in how you would take it apart?

    I don't understand why no ds4 teardown videos ever mention the tiny springs in the triggers that shoot across the room. Is that not a thing anymore? I haven't taken one apart in over a year.

    Pretty nice video mr blanket. But I was wondering do you have to sand?
    Oh and I saw you painting the buttons but bought new ones. Did you do this to show how or do you recommend buying new buttons.
    Nice video though keep them coming

      +Kevin Rovelli I cant tell if youre being serious about sanding. I painted the buttons to show you that you CAN paint them and it works just fine. Personally, I like the bought buttons but its totally up to you what you do.

      Why do you like the bought buttons better? Do you sand the thumb sticks as well (I am not being the smartass here :) was just wondering about the rubbery finnish). And what about the touchpad, do you sand that? Someone in your Joker Q&A video stated that you can repaint the touchpad (can you sand it too?), you said it here as well, but does it work? Have you tested it?

      +Drumblanket Question. The last video i saw when you were customizing a Ps4 Joker inspired controller, you used and 2000 grit for removing original clear coat from the controller... So is both 400 grit and 2000 grit sand paper good or what? And another question! after sanding... If i spray paint my controller that says "Primer (for plastic) included within the paint (metallic silver)". Could i put another kind of spray paint over it? Or would you still need a primer applied?

      @marcsebastian1980 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Drumblanket the spray paints i am putting as the very first coat after sanding is the Metallic Silver with primer included for plastic... So could that be used as a VALID plastic primer or what? please reply can't wait to make mine because you've just inspired me to the highest possible inspiration level as possible!!

    I know you said that you can paint the touchpad but how about putting the clearcoat on the touch as well?

    Should I sand the thumb sticks and the triggers too?

    • @xxchaosxx5
      @xxchaosxx5 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      And when should I use clear coat? Do I have to wait until the paint dries and then clear coat it?

    • @Miss_Abyssal
      @Miss_Abyssal 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes some people like to sand all there buttons, but that's up to you.
      And for the clear coat go to 13.11
