@@Carsforlife_ The video is titled "Driving in the Restricted Areas in Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Demo" and was uploaded by "Fizzi Soda" (@fizzisoda7113)
@@kaiii-0003Yes it’s already been confirmed since last year when they said it and it was in the recent feedback form for the community this month in their discord you could fill it out
They need to display the GPS on the dashboard or at least have some sort of interaction with it And used car dealerships should return and we also need variety of dealerships since most of them look the same and also more diversity with car traffic because they only have like 5 or 6 different models Imagine they add new cars in future updates and see npcs own the new cars and maybe have 1 or 2 npcs driving a supercar just fo variety And different driving modes like Drive,Sport,Manual
I'm think there're driving modes/presets but they locked by reputation or car upgrades. And yeah used cars dealership was a nice touch in the tdu2 and I'm want it back in SC but I think they wont do it and it will be cool if they add CRC, photo studio with tasks to take pictures of the cars/areas/buildings.
I feel like they needed to add pretty much every feature from TDU 2 and TDU 1 (car wash, police cars driving around, real estate agents, properties, being able to fly to a different island with your car, different clothing stores around the map, plastic surgery clinics around the map, offline mode etc…) for SC to be an actual successor to TDU 2, and a worthy rival to games with huge player base like FH5. They should have spend a year or two more in development and make an actual good game instead of a random open world game with mobile game cutscenes because it doesn’t even feel like TDU 😭😭
The car wash I think is not needed, especially with the women that would wash your car. Plus playing TDU2, I never used those. Especially since 2,000 credits to have women wash your car is too much, when you can just go into one of your houses to repair and clean your car. Now we have the gas stations which do both the reparing and cleaning. And besides, flying to different locations wasn't part of TDU1. Only in TDU2, and I suspect this will be added in the future with a future map expansion.
tbh the physics and sounds are already here, so when the optimization will be decent, the priorities will be there. Then they can improve on the rest while we can still enjoy the game.
What u aren't aware of is this game is here to stay for a few years they're building on all of this and it's sad nobody knows this. There's interviews with devs saying my exact words so much so that maybe motorcycles will be added in tdusc in the future. Don't count chicken before they roost
If solar crown doesnt have houses ill be incredibly disappointed, I love the "life style" progress that tdu 2 had and it being absent will be disappointing
@@tdu_505 Idk doesn't seem like an insane feature that can't be added a few months post launch, it's not like they are promising a whole new map or an outlandish thing like that
@@tdu_505 You're forgetting TDU is a very specific recipe that shouldn't be messed with. So excluding one of the key features will ruin the experience and make a lot of people who have been waiting for a proper return to the series very unhappy. But the Solar Crown hotel is a good enough substitute for the time being, even has the cosmetic surgeon and the clothing store. But also a garage you can access to view your cars like you could in the houses. So it's kind of giving you a sample of what the houses will be like when they finally implement them.
@@MichaelB450 well happy news to the fans that want the game to return to its former glory, in discord tdu sc put up a forum where people give their feedback by choosing which features they want first (meaning which should be pre vs post launch) and the devs are very well aware of all the complaints talking about a casino, other maps potentially, the fps drops, the steering wheel angle, the server issues, the always online, the gps not being fonctional inside the car etc... Which is amazing to see because it means the developers atleast know what to work on unlike some other devs over the years(nfs)
The biggest and most important takeaway is that, now, in 2024, you can load up 2011 TDU2 13 years later and record this footage. Yet, in 13 years from now aka 2037, its almost a certainty you wont be able to do the same for TDUSC, because its Online Only for literally no justifiable reason at all and the servers will definetly be shutdown by then.
@@lRedKill3r No. It is an always online game. This means that everything in the game relies on servers. If these are switched off, the game is dead. There was a lot of criticism for this. In response, the developers more or less promised to find a solution for the end of the game's life. But that all sounds very vague to me. So I'll wait and see if they're serious...
@@emka9537 No. They weren't. They had online functionality, and if your console/PC was connected to thr internet you would play online when you loaded up, and see others driving around. But they werent online only. You could play the game 100% fully offline. And you still can now. Unlike all The Crew Games and Solar crown in the future.
Houses and the inviting and open scenery plus certain menu things like the sounds etc, tdu 2 had some really nice simple style that just looked really good especially in the menus
Making everything accessible from the hotel just kills the need to explore and go to places around the map to get clothes, beauty salon, houses etc. Not sure why they forced everyone to one location. I loved the fact that houses you could buy all over the island and carve out your area where you wanted to live and invite friends to. Also, the lack of people anywhere makes it feel empty. Even crazy taxi had people in the streets... I want to love this but it feels empty and just missing the mark for me. my 2 cents.
The fact that you had to explore and discover everything in TDU 2 was a big part of the appeal for me. Wasn't it great when you went on a road trip and happened to come across other shops and activities that were previously inaccessible? But I think modern gamers are too impatient for that. They don't want to discover things. They want everything served up on a silver platter right from the start.
I'm not sure either why they made that decision, they map is smaller than previous games and they making all shops in one place and all exploration is based on to find hidden credits or exp.
I think the dealerships, while too spacious, are still quite nice from the inside. However, I really wish that there was more variation between them and that not all of them were so big.
We really need each dealership's interior design are distinctive between each brand. To the point you can tell even if their logos or car aren't there (take KFC vs McD interior design for example). For now the dealerships seemed like an AI or over-futuristic that doesn't have the personality or anything with the brands at all.
@@qnua9699 Yeah. For example I was expecting classic cars dealership to look like idk, kind of like the sharps headquarters or something. With posters of classic cars on the wall and stuff. Maybe they'll have that for release who knows.
It is missing that big map feeling. When you're cruising in TDU 2, you got that feeling of endless map, different environment, different vibes depending in which city you got. I don't want to get wrong, HK island does look big, it is big, but feels different. It is missing few mission types. Weather forecast. Cops (including vehicle infraction bar). I have had some situations where I would ran thru a red light and if there was a cop seeing that I would instantly get almost a chase red bar. Wheel rotation is ridiculous. I don't think it will change, because there would be many changes within the game engine and that takes a lot of the time and recourses. Maybe I'm wrong too, but I bet 90% it will stay the same as it is right now. Overall I give new TDU SC a 10/10 considering it is maded from AA studio. Awesome sounds, great handing that it will be updated, all the basic stuff from previous TDU DNA is in this one too. Oh yeah, the gauges. That would be awesome.
The more open areas that give you that feeling are out of bounds in the demo but are in the game itself, apparently some people broke that barrier and uploaded the vids on youtube
Me too! If none of them would bug out on RTX cards, I'd easily play them through again... Considering getting one or the other (maybe both) for the Xbox on disc(s) now... 🙄
Exactly. Just because it has a few basic Test Drive features doesn't make it a Test Drive. It also has to feel like Test Drive. And unfortunately I didn't get that feeling from large parts of the demo. I mostly had the feeling that the developers had simply worked through a checklist. You can tell that most of the people in the development team have no connection to Test Drive. Everything feels so " corporate ".
9:55 In TDU1 and 2 when you go into a dealership it feels like an actual dealership that might happen to be on Oahu. In SC, you go into a dealership that us clearly separate from the Honkong island's own building. It feels like it was put there just for the player while the TDU1 and 2 feel organic to the world.
What I want to see is 360 wheel degree , better tire smoke , more AI cars especially on interstates, pedestrians , improve the fov options , drift tires and drift suspension and co op cockpit so if you’re friends want to ride in your car they can 😁🔥
Ohhh, the coop cockpit was top feature. When we were doing long cruises and someone needs to eat we can just sit in the friends car and ride with them.
Small thing I loved in TDU2 that should be implemented into solar crown. When buying a car and picking colors in TDU2 you could back out of the buy menu and the car you just speced out would be sitting in the showroom for you to walk around. It was nice to be able to see the options you picked before buying. In solar crown it’s just a fixed camera and then it reverts back. And of course we need properties!!! That’s non negotiable and makes the game what it is!
like you said, the beauty salon and clothing should be around the island not exclusive to the hotel. but need houses, used car dealers, HUD gauges for each car, v-rent, casino and coop driving, then i would get excited. also this is the third tdu launching with no bikes from the start, which is a bummer.
Get rid of clothing store and salon in the hotel and expand the player cars area/ maybe have a “restaurant” type meeting place with seating and npcs for in game news or party creation to make things feel more lively, tdu2 made the racing a huge event with sponsors and professionals and it felt like a vacation and had a great vibe, Solar Crown with modern tech can do everything tdu2 did and more with the casino and other things like that, dealerships with specialized cars like street, show, rally type builds pre-made. The parking garages having npc meets in them, a drift meetup warehouse, etc. making driving to places worth it and making places worth going to and hanging out in, The map drives well and I love the little alleys and tight dirt roads but it all feels a little empty right now
Whilst I do understand that making a to scale version of Hong Kong is a huge feat, I do hope they later add some of if not most of Kowloon. I think that would honestly just add a bit more to the experience.
Solar crown is bare. No people at all, minimal boring traffic. It reminds me of 80's arcade racers with better graphics only. Fun for a whole 15 minutes before boredom set in.
i still think there is something massively wrong with the motion of the new solar crown, the way the camera moves, the motion blur, the motion of the steering wheel... it all plays so strange... but when you pause, it looks great... just not in motion
Ability to switch to 3rd person mode inside buildings. In dealerships, there's no hands on steering wheel when you enter a vehicle. When honking, there should be hand animation like in GTAV...
They released a poll asking what we want the most like houses / more cars / … so everybody go and vote for houses now!! They are probably gonna introduce or work on every answer in the poll but they’re asking to see what they need to do first so.. it’s up to us now
one huge difference is traffic. In TDU 2 cars will go the posted speed limit, and will also slow down and speed up depending on it changing. Traffic AI seems better in TDU2. Another difference is when you drive standard. The clutch and stalling the vehicle feels way more natural in TDU2.
And for the illusion of "social experience". After all, this is supposed to be an MMO. If everything was spread out on the map as it should be, you would meet fewer people...
5:01 this is the most important thing for me. I’m so disappointed that they didn’t keep the house element, the furniture element, the license element, and the fact that you had to drive to different shops etc… Tdu2 felt alive, because you could interact with a lot of structures in the game. Solar crown just feels like forza; you race around in an abandoned place where no one lives. Its like a ghost town.
The game is brilliant and yes, it’s lacking certain things about TDU2 but honestly I do not like the “All Online” features of the game - I work too much to bother about competitive racing, let me enjoy the game (specifically races) in peace 🤣
3:40 the ground under vehicles is Intentionally not reflective just to hide the good old trick of double 3d model under the floor to fake ground reflections !
I probably won't end up caring that much but they should have gone with a home driving resort instead of a hotel where people who log in populate villas with their own garages that other people can visit and check out, then have a central hub with different dealerships and stores with a single exit so everyone meets there. Maybe even throw in a car show area or a small test track in the resort
i understand this game is a little "smaller" compared to the other test drive unlimiteds, but i honestly hope it does well... and next game, they could keep the map and maybe add a bit to it and we can get the housing and all the cutscenes with a cheesy story, maybe some car customization even if its just for some cars like the upgrade heroes in FH3... The Solar Crown hotel is practical but honestly im pretty sure most people would prefer to find diffrent shops and hairdressers around the map with diffrent things
The reason why Test Drive is so fondly remembered by many to this day is that it offered an experience like no other game, because it was unique in its kind. That's why it's not clear to me at the moment why I should buy this game. As of now, the game has hardly any elements that set it apart from other open world racing games. And don't start telling me "oh, they'll add it sometime after release. They promised that"...
None of the TDU games had this, plus adding that won't make it TDU. It would make it more like The Crew, GTA, or Driver. Not that any of those games are bad, they just aren't TDU. I am certain the majority of players have wanted a true callback to TDU and not games that have some inspiration on TDU incorporated into them. Plus having pedestrians would make the framerate in cities worse than it already is. And I’m certain players would get annoyed if you can’t run them over, because immersion. So having them and making them not be able to be run over, or not having them at all, will create complaints on breaking immersion.
I feel they may do it at some point, or maybe they already have as the demo is a year old version of the game now.. the map does feel a bit empty currently
@MichaelB450 why do people have such a fixation on trying to make TDUSC EXACTLY, a CARBON COPY of its predecessors even if its at the costs of good improvement? the city feels dead, dude. TDU1 and 2 could get a pass for this because the vast majority of roads was outside cities, and the cities werent so detailed and so dense. TDUSC has a ton of alleys and entrances that are just void of life. Also making people impossible to run over wont break immersion, in fact the opposite would be worse. You aren't there to kill people, you aren't supposed to do that, being able to do it would feel offf
@@lRedKill3r Nostalgia purposes i suppose, I think that’s what the games initial success is sort of relying on.. who knows it could become a pretty big hit if it goes well after that 🤞
@@lRedKill3r Because if you waited for a game you really enjoyed come back after 10+ years of being dead, I'm sure you'd want it to be a proper sucessor and not some hybrid like similar games that already exist in the franchise. Besides you guys have another game with those aspects y'all want coming next year, GTA 6.
I reeeeeeally hope when TDU Solar Crown comes out to have such amazing cars and car sounds, amazing houses, customization and fun activities like (Delivering cars from point A to B without damaging it for a bonus), clothing... meh not too much but ok I guess and good Ai to have a actual satisfying win. For graphics yes I hope they are also good AND HOPEFULLY to remove this ONLINE ONLY bullshit because I would love to switch from offline to online please. I have personally played A LOT of TDU1 back in xbox 360 days but sadly didn't had the chance for 2 because it looked soooooo good and the houses were top (in my opinion) Also I really hope they can somehow make the wheel turn more than 90 degrees. There are so many things that we would love to see but yeah let's get at least this and with updates to get even more cooler content in the future. I am crossing my fingers for these things.

Will be better if they add apartments instead of houses in those big buildings, so we can be in the center of the things. Also would be nice if can enter the property by parking on the parking space in front of the building or drive in the garage.
I think Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown probably looks "better" in terms of photorealism and each individual asset probably has several times more polygons than do the comparable assets in Test Drive Unlimited 2 but I still prefer how (vanilla) Test Drive Unlimited 2 looks in terms of art design since I'm just not a fan of excessive sunlight bloom even if that's more photorealistic. Just in the side-by-side comparison seen in this video, I far prefer the vivid blues and greens of the earlier game which very much have a similar vibe to OutRun 2/2006 and I still think OutRun 2 looks amazing even two decades after it first appeared in arcades. That's with the caveat that I don't have an OLED screen and the sunlight bloom that looks excessive on older LCD screens may look more natural on OLED. I agree that Honolulu feels a bit sparse in Test Drive Unlimited 2 but that's probably because it was really just a slightly upgraded version of the Oahu map from the first TDU. Ibiza (Eivissa) town on the newer map felt a little more "dense" than Honolulu did on the revised older map even if Ibiza is a much smaller city than Honolulu in real life. I will give Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown the edge over Test Drive Unlimited 2 for music, but that's mainly because they brought back the classical music station from the original Test Drive Unlimited. I was never into any of the other music in any of the first two games, just the classical music in the original game and it was the main thing from the first game that I missed in TDU 2. I enjoyed exploring the map in the demo despite some glaring technical issues (such as the game freezing in spots for a few seconds while textures reload) that I presume will be fixed in the final game but I avoided anything to do with actual racing because I have no interest in multiplayer and I'm still going to hold off buying the final version of the game until they announce a full offline mode.
Hey Theo, I suggest trying project paradise if you wanna try online features like the casino and stuff on tdu 2. I even managed to win the r8 on the slots again 😂
“We know that houses made an impression on TDU players,” Creative Director and franchise veteran Alain Jarniou wrote. “While this feature is not in the game when TDUSC launches, it is part of a long list of features we have already researched for future content in the medium and long term." I would like to know which long list of features he is talking about. I'd like it to feel more like the previous games in terms of features
You also have to ask yourself whether the game can survive for so long with all the missing features. It's great that they are planning so much for the future. But as it stands, the game doesn't really have much that sets it apart from other comparable games. And we all know that today's gamers have an extremely short attention span. When the next big thing comes along, they'll move on...
TDU2 is special, even after so many years we still play it and enjoy it. TDUSC has to be an evolution of it, not a replacement, otherwise it will fail..
The best element of TDU? I don't give a shit about the other players. They don't know how to race. Is it a racing game or a freaking walking and swag simulator? I don't care about all that.
Watching this video made me realise why tdu2 is my favorite game ever... because of the LIFESTYLE, the demo feels like a major improvement but the lifestyle side is a downgrade.. I loved the grind from small houses shitty cars, to building up my money to buy expensives houses and cars
Do I expect perfection on launch day from this game…no but what I do expect is for us to be able to buy homes in the first few major updates. Aside from that, September 12, 2024 I’m so ready for TDUSC!!
Man I hope its your openion. Cause this game has no sole. Just the first shot of your video shows how much that old game is better. Wheel animation. The sound is real not just higher pitch. I wanted TDUS be good. I never Played TDU2 but Im good with Crew Motorfest. Crew MF is even better feeling compare to Forza
I feel like from the start when they bought the TDU name from Atari they should've said "We're going to add all the main Core features that made TDU a TDU game" aka Houses is a core feature. It shouldn't have been after all the backlash they will add houses and after the launch of the game at that! Car dealerships, big tropical island, car-specific gauges ( if I'm in a 458 I want a 458 speed o and tack) This stuff sounds small and irrelevant but it's exactly what made TDU so special. Just like turning on your left turn signal is pretty useless and irrelevant but it makes the game special and that's why it's a feature in the game. I also think the reason the game doesn't have the TDU vibe is because they didn't pick a tropical party/vacation-style island like TDU1 & TDU2. And am I the only one who doesn't like the futuristic vibe they went for with the car dealerships and your room in the solar hotel etc? I think that takes away from the TDU vibe too because for example in TDU2 if you went to a Mercedes dealership like you did in this video, It looks and feels like a real-life Mercedes dealership however, TDU SC doesn't have that feel to it.
It’s a demo but I didn’t know this either but the company that owned tdu2 got bought out by the small company that’s gonna drop solar crown they bought all the L and masters to the series but expecting it to be a 1 for 1 is hard
The camera system in the 3rd person is honestly the worst for me. I like a camera that shows the fact my car sways from side to side and if i go up or down a hill to show this. A good example is the Forza Horizon 3rd Person Camera. I cannot stress how annoying a static camera is.

Yeah i think it needs it too. You can buy houses and stuff but not customize your car? “Rich Life “ sim but you can’t even heavily modify your car? Ass!!
@@50rads Ok to make it simple, when you have a lot of money you either buy those very expensives cars because you like them for how they are straight out of the factory or because you want to sell them for more than what it costed you years or decades ago. In the first case you're most likely to not customize it because the car out of the factory pleases you and in the second case doing any non-manufacturer mods on this car will lower the resell value by a lot sometimes. Like i said a lot of games already have customization emphasis, that was never the purpose of TDU in the past and seeing how many games do have this now it makes no sense to start with this today
I have given up with TDUSC. Back to Crew 2 TDU will fail and sad to say we will never get another one. I was a massive TDU and TDU 2 fan was so looking forward to TDUSC.
Here's the thing: It's 50 bucks. And the upgrades only go up to 80 bucks. I'd like to take a second to find that refreshing, but I can't help but think they've got season passes lined up.
I'm debating rather I should pre order te game or not? And can someone who actually played the demo tell me abt the map size? Should we compare it to forza, motorfest?
I still need to see a big improvement in gameplay before I can see hope in this new game. It is so easy for games like this to fall into the category of getting boring after 5 minutes of play, and so far it does look like that. As the demo was an early build, they can of course redeem themselves, so I hope they got something cooking, and at the same time keeping my expectations at a minimum.

6:44 someone actually managed to get through the barriers and explore the restricted area and they uploaded the video on TH-cam. The south of the map is definitely more "Test Drive". It's much better for cruising. The city is for racing
What’s the persons channel?
@@Carsforlife_ The video is titled "Driving in the Restricted Areas in Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Demo" and was uploaded by "Fizzi Soda" (@fizzisoda7113)

House’s House’s, and gauges specifically for the car you’re driving
Used car dealership as well!
I can’t imagine a TDU without houses 😟
and motorbikes.. I want Ducati in my garage
Isn’t houses coming later on in solar crown
@@kaiii-0003Yes it’s already been confirmed since last year when they said it and it was in the recent feedback form for the community this month in their discord you could fill it out
They need to display the GPS on the dashboard or at least have some sort of interaction with it
And used car dealerships should return and we also need variety of dealerships since most of them look the same and also more diversity with car traffic because they only have like 5 or 6 different models
Imagine they add new cars in future updates and see npcs own the new cars and maybe have 1 or 2 npcs driving a supercar just fo variety
And different driving modes like Drive,Sport,Manual
@@Winterek21 Wake up I'm talking about features they can add when the full game comes out
I'm think there're driving modes/presets but they locked by reputation or car upgrades.
And yeah used cars dealership was a nice touch in the tdu2 and I'm want it back in SC but I think they wont do it and it will be cool if they add CRC, photo studio with tasks to take pictures of the cars/areas/buildings.
Hong Kong has so many shopping centers! PLEASE ADD HAIRDRESSERS/BARBERS and CLOTHING STORES
@@MichaelB450huh??
What u aren't aware of is this game is here to stay for a few years they're building on all of this and it's sad nobody knows this. There's interviews with devs saying my exact words so much so that maybe motorcycles will be added in tdusc in the future. Don't count chicken before they roost
You would think they would have added everything from td2 and more. They are going backward.
If solar crown doesnt have houses ill be incredibly disappointed, I love the "life style" progress that tdu 2 had and it being absent will be disappointing
It's confirmed to be added after an update
@@Issam-od4pg I don’t think that will be the case tbh, I feel like it’s just a thing they said so the fans don’t lose interest.
2:33 one of the best things in UG2 (NFS) was finding the shops and going to them one at a time, it made the customization feel more significant
this is why NfsUg2 is forever my favorite
The biggest and most important takeaway is that, now, in 2024, you can load up 2011 TDU2 13 years later and record this footage. Yet, in 13 years from now aka 2037, its almost a certainty you wont be able to do the same for TDUSC, because its Online Only for literally no justifiable reason at all and the servers will definetly be shutdown by then.
doesnt freeroam work in offline in SC?
@@lRedKill3r No. It is an always online game. This means that everything in the game relies on servers. If these are switched off, the game is dead. There was a lot of criticism for this. In response, the developers more or less promised to find a solution for the end of the game's life. But that all sounds very vague to me. So I'll wait and see if they're serious...
Tdu and tdu2 always was online only game. Only right know custom Made servers was Made thats why you Can Play it
@@emka9537 TDU and TDU 2 were NOT always online. Both games had an offline mode right from the start.
@@benn87 Forza ruined them.
@@qnua9699 yeah they all looking the same
@@qnua9699 Yeah.
I just feel like shops are missing a personality, dealerships, clothing shops, hairdressers, and the clinic
Also every dealership is the same in tdusc just different colors, it also sucks how all the character customization stuff is in one place
All of this just to bring the players together in one place...
Its missing that tdu charm
@TomeeDee86 I'm debating getting it on PC with a 4080 Super, or just buy it on PS5 with hopefully less issues and full HDR and surround sound 😅
I want more regular daily driver cars.
I agree!
The most important thing to me is that it really needs a single player mode. I don’t wanna be forced to play PvP.
I found it really cool that the character in TDU2 shifts the car with the paddle shifter, or the gear knob, depending on the car.
The navigation system inside of the vehicles is missing on TDUSC it doesn’t match on TDU2
What I want to see is 360 wheel degree , better tire smoke , more AI cars especially on interstates, pedestrians , improve the fov options , drift tires and drift suspension and co op cockpit so if you’re friends want to ride in your car they can 😁🔥
I've also been wishing the same thing with the co op were you can be a passenger that would be fire ngl🔥
Ohhh, the coop cockpit was top feature.
When we were doing long cruises and someone needs to eat we can just sit in the friends car and ride with them.
What's SC missiong vs TDU2? Soul... and houses. As I knew it was not a triple A title going into the Demo, but even then.
I absolutely adore the original TDU games, and am trying not to get too "ready" for Solar Crown until I've seen some reviews.
You could also take pictures and hang them on the walls in your houses!.
like you said, the beauty salon and clothing should be around the island not exclusive to the hotel. but need houses, used car dealers, HUD gauges for each car, v-rent, casino and coop driving, then i would get excited. also this is the third tdu launching with no bikes from the start, which is a bummer.
They's SO MUCH work and polish which to be put into this game before it should be released..
The fact that it's always online is another issue that people don't discuss enough
Would love to see this exact video + more but with tdusc vs competitors instead. Actual honest opinion.
An offline mode......................... or we will have another Crew-tastrophie on our hands
I hope we get to customize plates instead of all having generic plates.
Houses
Propped gauges
And realistic car dealerships
The ones in TDUSC feel way too overdone
TDU2 feels like a real dealership
Waited years to have a less complete game. Not worth 70 usd at all.
exactly
That gtr looks so funny.. like straight out a mobile game
Hmm seeing them side by side 0:21 I've noticed that they modified the 370 bumper on the solar crown just to fit the logo on
If they just fix the performance to a point where my 1660ti laptop will handle ~40fps at medium - Im sold. Its nowhere as other racers nowadays
I mean it is clear that theu stuck everything into one place to shorten the development time
And for the illusion of "social experience". After all, this is supposed to be an MMO. If everything was spread out on the map as it should be, you would meet fewer people...
@@benn87 they could've made it more intimate at least. It looks too dystopian.
This game seems like it was developed in 2012 and then put on ice till 2023.
The game is brilliant and yes, it’s lacking certain things about TDU2 but honestly I do not like the “All Online” features of the game - I work too much to bother about competitive racing, let me enjoy the game (specifically races) in peace 🤣
So you only race other people, not ai ?
3:40 the ground under vehicles is Intentionally not reflective just to hide the good old trick of double 3d model under the floor to fake ground reflections !

I probably won't end up caring that much but they should have gone with a home driving resort instead of a hotel where people who log in populate villas with their own garages that other people can visit and check out, then have a central hub with different dealerships and stores with a single exit so everyone meets there. Maybe even throw in a car show area or a small test track in the resort
TDU2 has aura, TDUSC has no aura thats the difference
i understand this game is a little "smaller" compared to the other test drive unlimiteds, but i honestly hope it does well... and next game, they could keep the map and maybe add a bit to it and we can get the housing and all the cutscenes with a cheesy story, maybe some car customization even if its just for some cars like the upgrade heroes in FH3...
Needs an airport to hawaii... and houses... :D
14:11 Alex VII explained that to me. The 370Z gearbox actually has a sequential mode, so it's accurate. Look it up.
Solar Crown needs pedestrians on the streets ASAP!
The ai is honestly ruthless in TDUSC, they level up along side you. They become more of a competition later on and honestly I was impressed lmao

Will be better if they add apartments instead of houses in those big buildings, so we can be in the center of the things. Also would be nice if can enter the property by parking on the parking space in front of the building or drive in the garage.
Maybe it's possible to fly on an another island like in tdu 2.
Also some area when u can park your car, step down car and meet other people
Like everyone is saying, they need houses and should definitely have Ariba Radio as one of the music stations.
Hey Theo, I suggest trying project paradise if you wanna try online features like the casino and stuff on tdu 2. I even managed to win the r8 on the slots again 😂
They need to fix that steering animation
"Test Drive Media" a tv where you had in tdu2 you can see the weather, news, dlc ext.
“We know that houses made an impression on TDU players,” Creative Director and franchise veteran Alain Jarniou wrote. “While this feature is not in the game when TDUSC launches, it is part of a long list of features we have already researched for future content in the medium and long term."
I would like to know which long list of features he is talking about.
@@benn87 Its a dumb move by the time enough features hopefully maybe come out most will be moved on by then from disappointment or being underwhelmed.
TDU2 is special, even after so many years we still play it and enjoy it. TDUSC has to be an evolution of it, not a replacement, otherwise it will fail..
they literally took out everything that made tdu a tdu game. its crazy.
solar crown, motorfest, horizon 5. they are all the same game its crazy.
I wish it played it played the same song as you entered the car shops and the sound it made when you pressed select on things
Car dealerships, big tropical island, car-specific gauges ( if I'm in a 458 I want a 458 speed o and tack)
This stuff sounds small and irrelevant but it's exactly what made TDU so special.
Fck the modern, cyber looking stuff. We want real houses. Real garage. From poor to rich. Not some cyberpunk77 looking stuff
I don't mind waiting for these features after launch since there's bunch of QoL improvements that need to be made
It’s a demo but I didn’t know this either but the company that owned tdu2 got bought out by the small company that’s gonna drop solar crown they bought all the L and masters to the series but expecting it to be a 1 for 1 is hard
Houses, house customization, decent amount of traffic, cops, casino etc..
Not the loot tier elements for the paint and interior customization, why man hahah
well the mustang in solar crown is missing the sequential turn signals in the tail lights
The camera system in the 3rd person is honestly the worst for me. I like a camera that shows the fact my car sways from side to side and if i go up or down a hill to show this. A good example is the Forza Horizon 3rd Person Camera. I cannot stress how annoying a static camera is.
The difference is era, games these days are released unfinished with the rest coming to you staggered over time in the form of a DLC.

Wasn't perfect, then again given angry programmers in france(Reports of riots) that where not being paid might have been a management problem?
Solar crown is missing visual customization you know the aftermarket stuff
???????
This is Test Drive not Need for Speed
It's not missing this, it never had it and there's already a lot of games with this no need for another one
It’s a street racing game for rally racing game fans like me. I hope there’s rally! I hope it’s good and we get an offline mode!!!
The hotel has a PlayStation Home vibe haha
You forgot to mention the casino it was where I spent most of my time on tdu2 👍🏻
I think solar crown will evolve and be even better
Phyics wise, is it the same as other TDU's or what game would you compare it to?
I still need to see a big improvement in gameplay before I can see hope in this new game. It is so easy for games like this to fall into the category of getting boring after 5 minutes of play, and so far it does look like that. As the demo was an early build, they can of course redeem themselves, so I hope they got something cooking, and at the same time keeping my expectations at a minimum.
tdu2 can let you travel on 3 maps but mostly 2 can drive and get lincese and can drive on tdu2 or tdu1 map but solar crown we dunno and mostly wanted most stuff on tdu2 that building and changing stuff build and everything on be on solar crown even travel back on older map and dealership and old cars be there with on some dealership be alone company or together
Id say TDUSC's map is the best open world racing map of the past 5 years.
Not with such wide roads.
@@kak8895 nah. The game has some of the most narrow roads I've seen.
@@Kortex_Racing Makes sense if you play on console. The highways/freeways are too wide. HKI has very restricted lanes in the city which this game doesn't have. That's the issue when you turn the entire map into a race track for goofy racing and breaking shit.
@kak8895 highways need to be enlarged ingame for gameplay accessibility. The roads are not nearly as wide as those of fh5 and motorfest
how did you get the tdu2 get running ? i have win11 , ryzen 7840hs rxt 4060m 64gb ram
i think it could run
add the solar crown turbo from the z and the exhaust noise from tdu2 and thats a great sound
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is crap.
There is no campaign
all the races is against real people, there is no CPU races and no offline mode.
So you can only progress if you can get first place in the races ( good luck with that )
There are NPC races if people won't join for 20 seconds
