"Tell us, sir, what should be done seriously to help the country and the people of the country, for no philosophy, nor books, nor talks, can solve these problems."

The last 3 minutes brought tears to my eyes. The deep love JK had for this country and it's timeless culture. And his ready wit: India is good minus INDIANS! Things in India are way worse than they were when he spoke those indignant words. Dear school teachers, Show this extraordinary clip to all senior school students. Translate if they can't follow him.

From the cheap comments below. Jk was never fond of any particular country or culture weather old or new whatsoever. Because he knew that culture is a superficial things created by thought...he was never into all those cheap thinking.....
It is true what he says, but people must also understand the situation that india has gone through in the last 1000 years, starting with the islamic invasion and ending with 200 yrs of british oppression. At the end of which india didn't even have a native name ( 'INDIA' is a name given by the english, our real name is bharat ). How do you expect the people to have integrity after such a brutal history, from which we are still suffering.
India is doing fine.. Its on the way up!!
