  • Ojai 1983 - Question #2 from Question & Answer Meeting #2
'Most of my energy and time goes into the struggle to earn a living. Is it possible for me to be deeply unselfish and intelligent?'
    ---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

"The pursuit of non-violence is a wastage of energy. Whereas to understand the nature of violence, go into it deeply, see the complexity of violence and see if it's possible to end it, that's not the wastage of energy." That's GOLD 🙏🏼

It is of no use, if we are not applying his teaching in our daily life even it how big, great, auspicious, whatsoever the magical words that you define to his teachings.

The total freedom is the freedom from the mind which is free from conditioning, bias, prejudice, judgement..

Experts may be knowledgeable.. the question of intelligence being present there is less clear although it may be present. I think it is important for each person to exercise intelligence, not my intelligence or your intelligence.. but intelligence itself. This sounds logical and reasonable.

Society and those in power want it to be this way, we're sabotaged from all angles. Krishnamurti said himself that society doesn't want man to be free.

yes at the beginning that is normal,i have gone through that as well.
That is because the brain is used to a certain pattern, and it takes chronological time, NOT psychological time(observing is NOW)
for it to even understand verbally what he means, our brains are conditioned thats why it is sooo difficult, at first i was like wtf is he talking about?
So go into it have patience and really listen!

Try reading his words first. That might familiarize you in a way you better grasp.

I understand and can relate, initially it is. I have been studying and applying his teachings for a long time. I must tell you, a lot of what he says is almost impossible to apply in daily life. Its good and brilliant intellectually. To K fans, a lot of his teaching is around observing without observer or being attentive. Experiment being attentive for a week! The ego strains when it tries to be attentive...be careful and use what you understand.

Unless we peel off layers and layers of conditioning by tradition, society, media and above all religion the brain will never see K. Light.

I feel very much excited and feel that I understood when I listen to his talks. But in reality, I am getting confused to apply. May be requires more and more listening.
