The Miata is just an incredible vehicle! It’s engineered for an incredible driving experience and nothing else. This generation is perfect, but I really love my red ‘99 Miata. Long Live Mazda!

Im thinkiing about getting a mx5 but im worried about the small size. Is this car comfortable on long road trips? I'm talking 2 plus hrs drive

    • @fluffyres6107
      @fluffyres6107 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@badboy-gn8fu Well, its difficult for me to say. I don’t usually take trips longer than 45mins in the Miata, as I daily drive an Infiniti. Generally though, its pretty comfortable with the exception of a lack in lumbar support. This was most certainly corrected with the current generation, which is miles more comfortable than my ’99 model year. As for practicality, I can confirm its adequate with storage space and the trunk is big enough to run errands to places like the supermarket and still house a spare tire. Anyways, I think you should test drive and find out for yourself it it will work with your lifestyle.

Have to agree - “as close as you can get to a go-cart without driving an actual go-cart”. I tried one out a bunch of years ago and came back with my face hurting from the permanent smile I had the whole time.

Couple of additional points: Joe didn't emphasize it, but it's incredible how really tiny these things are. In person, they just look like a little bullet, and just beg you to get in abd let it rip. Also, Miatas have always been bulletproof. I'm on my 4th and have beaten them all like rented mules; the harder you drive them the more they like it! Really a small miracle that Mazda can still afford to build this car on a dedicated platform that is this sophisticated. Thank you Mazda!

After owning a GT RF for a month the things I would like are:
    1) A digital MPH readout. It could fit in the speedometer in the lower right corner.
    2) A space for my wallet and smart phone.
    3) Lumbar support. I have to use a lumbar cushion or my back will be sore for a couple of days.
    4) Factory supplied remote keyless entry button to put the top up/down without having to get into the car.
    5) A third detent on the driver's door. The first stop is useless because I can't get into or out of the car with that door setting. The last stop is so wide there is increased danger of the door hitting something like another parked car or other obstructions. A third door stop between the other two would solve the problem.

A Club with the Brembo/Recaro pkg ($4,500) is nice. Or, you could do what I did. I bought a 2019 GT-S and put the cost of the Brembo/Recaro pkg towards a Stage 2 sport suspension, a 'Little Big Brake Kit' (4-pistons @ each corner), lighter wheel & tire combo and a sport exhaust. $4,500 paid for nearly all of it. The comfort/luxury items combined with as much street performance that a guy could want. One might say it's as much fun as you can have with your clothes on, 'cause nakedity in a drop-top is sub-optimal.

Really wish these reviewers would stop providing this constant misinformation that the Club's handling is stiffer/sportier then the GT's. It's not. They're identical. The 6-speed manual GT has the exact same Bilstein shocks, strut brace tower, LSD, KPC, and suspension spring rates as the Club. Same ride height, as well. Only the Club is available with the $4,500 Brembo/BBS/Recaro Package, but none of those things reduce body roll, nor do they increase the suspension stiffness. That package has zero effect on sporty handling, so the even with that package the Club still has the exact same body roll and suspension plushness as the GT. On the street, you'll never notice those very expensive Brembo brakes or BBS wheels. The only difference you will notice is the Recaro seat, and, again, that's only if you pay the $4,500 upcharge from the regular Club. Otherwise, they're the exact same damn car, except that the GT offers more luxury amenities.

the review title says it all~YES the mx-5 is the most perfect sports car to buy to sweeten it all the mx-5's Japanese-reliability and RWD! all made in JAPAN right on the build sheet =) there's a quote id like to clarify about the mx-5 alot of reviews mention which is'nt quite accurate tho..."you can wind-out,rev-this thing-out,and push the mx-5 without getting into trouble" thankfully, ive not gotten into trouble, but for those that dont know,or never drove this car,it's a recipe of ultra-light rev-happy torquey RWD perfection! when you go 'on throttle' lol with this mx-5 same with the RF model, assuming its the manual, you will suddenly realize youre around 80mph VERY VERY quickly esp if youre not watching your gauges like what occured with me getting onto a highway all of a sudden i look down im doing 80mph!(never intended to do 80 where i was is my point here) so YES you can get into trouble with this car,if youre not paying attention to your gauges(and esp if you're caught!)this can very easily happen with this car due to it being a blast to drive and for me the most fun car Ive ever drove/owned.at the very least if you're shopping around, test drive one if the dealerships will allow it provided they have any or incomming which you can also schedule ahead to drive it.

I had the mark 4 after getting rid of my mark 1. I kept the mark 4 a week then sent it back. It was a totally disconnected experience after owning the mark 1 for a few years (where you feel totally connected to the road and part of the car), plus the steering compared the mark 1 was numb. Also much more squashed for the passenger. I'm now back in a mark 1,which is WAY more fun to drive IMO!

The Grand Touring has the same Bilstein shocks (as well as the LSD and strut tower bar) as the Club model since the 2020 year model in the US, there is no difference in the suspension between the GT and Club in this '22 Miata that you are reviewing.

The great thing about the Miata is that it's one of the best platforms for having that 500 hp all-aluminum V8 cake and eating it too. In fact,I suspect that there's going to be a Dream Giveaway Garage-modded Miata video in your not-too-distant future.

Great video ❗️Love my 19 zero option sport. I like basic cars , the less toys the better! My sticker was 8g less and I got it for 24g back when you could still bargain.
Best bang for the buck. The only place it says Miata is the sticker. I traded an FR-S in for it and one of the biggest pluses is I don’t have every kid in a civic with a fart can trying to
    race me anymore 😁

Nice to see new videos still being made of this car. I wasn’t sure if there’d still be any new Miatas out for grabs and as someone who’s hoping to get one in the upcoming months, this sort of gives some hope…even if I’m already not finding any in my area. D:

Some folks complain about the 36-37 k price of the RF /Gt. If you realize these cars are not parts bin cars . Miatas parts are mostly made just for this car and not a million of them sold every year .I do not feel they are overpriced. You can get a base model for almost 8 k less.
