  • Where can you find the best budget-friendly meal in Chinatown? Marco Lombardi-AKA ‪@Marcosworldnyc‬-recommends Great N.Y. Noodletown, located at 28 Bowery in Manhattan. Great N.Y. Noodletown is a certified Chinatown institution, serving up incredible Cantonese-style cuisine at ultra-affordable prices. Growing up on the Lower East Side, Marco was only exposed to Italian-American cooking-pasta, cutlets, sandwiches, and that's it. But it was Noodletown that changed everything, opening Marco up to a wide world of culinary possibilities in New York City.
Thanks to a chance encounter with the Fung Bros, Marco was able to kick a bad gambling habit and launch one of NYC's most popular food accounts on TikTok and Instagram. Today, Marco swears by Noodletown's roast pork, roast duck, and soy sauce chicken over rice-a dish he lovingly refers to as "The Trifecta"-and credits food with saving his life.

Food looks legit and I enjoy the cool vibe of your content; however, even factoring post-Covid inflation, I wouldn't exactly categorize Noodletown's beef chow mein dish at $19 as "cheap eats". By accepting only cash, these establishments should be keeping their menu prices more affordable for the average working-class patrons.

That's fair. I think pork, chicken, and duck over rice for $10.75 still qualifies as a cheap eat, and was really what Marco ate as a kid. We ordered the beef chow mein just for the hell of it (and it was really good!). A lot of these cheap eats legends, like NY Noodletown, have unfortunately been forced to raise their prices in order to survive. Thanks for watching!

@@RecTeamNYC Yes, absolutely. The three-item bbq rice plate is a great deal. Strange such a disparity in pricing between the two dishes.Thank you for replying!
