The BEST Sandwich in NYC, According to a New Yorker Mag Restaurant Critic | Rec Team NYC
Where can you find one of the best Italian sandwiches in New York City? Helen Rosner-a staff writer at The New Yorker and the author of the weekly column The Food Scene-recommends Parisi Bakery & Deli, located at 198 Mott Street in Manhattan. Parisi’s crown jewel is The Dennis (a leaning tower of chicken cutlet, prosciutto, and mozzarella cheese), but the key to Helen’s heart is the Italian Special #2, a sandwich packed with practically every cured Italian meat known to man. The key to Parisi’s century-long success, however, is the bakery’s bread, which should be the main attraction no matter what sandwich you order.

Where can you find the best Taiwanese food in New York City? Chef and TH-camr @IngaLam recommends Ho Foods, located at 110 E 7th Street in Manhattan. Ho Foods specializes in beef noodle soup, but real ones know to swing by the restaurant on weekends for Taiwanese breakfast classics like hot soy milk, egg-stuffed scallion pancakes, and fan tuan, a sticky rice roll packed with yo tiao (fried doug...

insane collab
I can do WITHOUT The VODKA SAUCE !!! NOT ITALIAN
Stop it sound dumb
Maybe best Italian-American restaurant but not authentic Italian.
I have to try this place. Everything looks great from the ambience / decor and the food. I’m curious how to make those wings.
She sure loves sandwiches! She makes me need 2 try this
Great place, great video. Congratulations
We appreciate you
Awesome deal, looks delicious.
That’s such a great deal and a great in between for meals! Wish we had anything like that where I live!
Win Son Bakery is another must try when it comes to Taiwanese breakfast!
I dont think that "underconsumptioncore" itself is going to last but because it stems from the feeling of being fed up with overconsumption, as long as it is around i think that there will be some sort of pushback.
respectfully, what does this have to do with 2 steamed pork buns and an iced milk tea all for $5.99?
Oooou that looks delicious
$6??? Wow! I can't afford to eat in NYC!!
It's 5.99! And come on, two buns and a big ass drink for that amount of money is a good deal
Same, in my country that would hardly even cost $2
She does it for the free food. Ask ny phone men and garbage men where to eat who actually pay for their meals
Wings? Really
I cannot eat pork for some gastrointestinal reasons, but next time I am in NY I will dine at Balatto’s just so I can eat that perfect pork chop with the vinegared peppers. Looks SOOOOO good!
Im 55 and I went to little italy for the first time a few weeks ago. What a shithole. Federal Hill in Rhode Island is so much better.
"Can you guys bring us there?" "Hell yeah" *restaurant is literally behind them across the street*
Lol. Honestly, very true
Bullshisha
man those sandwiches looked yummy.
Actually, this is so true. Biting into those solid meat sandwiches just doesn’t hit right. I’ll never look at sammys the same way again
Sandwiches are one of my favorite foods, the options are unlimited!
She makes a really good point- I used to substitute spinach for iceberg lettuce on my subs (for the difference in micronutrients, with iceberg being pretty empty), but I noticed that there was a huge difference in the experience of the sandwich- that hollow, refreshing crunch of the shredded iceberg lettuce really helped the sandwich not be so damn DENSE every bite. She has an incredibly valid point about how the structure of the ingredients changes the texture and overall experience of eating a really good sandwich.
Appreciate the in-depth comment. Thank you!
Preach my sando queen! She’s got a PhD in sandwiches and I love it.
Wtf is she talking about
She's saying the sensation of eating is just as important as the taste. And how satisfying a bite is, depends on how well the ingrediants harmonize with each other. (That's why she refers to Gesalt).
I want a sandwich I make a sandwich I eat a sandwich: Capt. Raymond Holt
How did she get her head shoved that far up her ass?
Be on her way to the gravey real.soon she dont quit eating like that
This woman hasn't had sex since 2019, but the right panini still sends shivers down her spine. And for that, I salute her.
Born and raised southwest Philly...a good sandwich starts with the roll..
Had the Dennis yesterday. It's as advertised. Thanks!
Love to hear it!
I love this!
Love her!!! Bless!
"fan tuan" 飯糰 should really be translated as a "sticky rice ball" in the same vein as an onigiri... not sure why it is often translated as a "rice roll". There is nothing "roll" about it
great review, subscribing
Appreciate you! 🙏
Best sandwich in NYC is a chicken roti at Trinciti on Lefferts Blvd in Queens.
Gotta check this spot out
That spot is so mid, especially for the Italian- their meats are not high quality, it’s standard corner deli level- how is she even qualified?
I think you may have it quite wrong, especially about her quals. Have you landed a spot on The New Yorker staff, with your own column and show? A nearly impossible feat for anyone.
in Inga I trust, another restaurant for my bucket list ❤
Hey New Yorker, make the restaurant reviews three columns again instead of two!
She is an elite sandwich reviewer, she actually loves sandwiches
Helen is the best
❤GreatSandwiches ❤GreatBread🥖❤
It pisses me off when people eat sandwiches upside down. It isn't the sandwich that was prepared for you. Guy Fieri is notorious for that. The bread looks dense for my taste. I think I would want it scooped.
That’s a weird thing to get pissed off at, my dude
She's too young to be an effective or believable food critic. I've got pickles in my fridge older than her. Get some life experiences FIRST, kid. Right now, you're just showing us what you don't know about food.
i could listen to helen talk about food ALL DAY. this is glorious! & now i'm desperately craving a sandwich!
I agree with prosciutto not being that good on sandwiches. It works sometimes but I've put it on my own sandwiches before and it just didn't work.
Is she single??? 😮 she seems like my kind of gal
😂 bros shooting his shot on TH-cam shorts
Yummy 😋
