  • HOW TO REGAIN POWER IN RELATIONSHIPS (WITHOUT MANIPULATING OR CONTROLLING)
How do you go about keeping your power in relationships and regain or maintain your power and control in relationships? What is the best way to approach the power dynamics in relationships without going into the realm of abuse of power in relationships?
Straddling the right balance when you’re dealing with the power play in relationships or the power struggle in relationships can be a challenge.
In this video, I am going to show you how you can regain power in relationships and restore the power balance in relationships, without playing some manipulative or tricky power “games” that other coaches often allude to.

There's a typo. It says interdependent at the bottom of the screen as well as the middle when you meant to have "independent" at the bottom.

I love your advices and it does help a lot.
But there is one thing that I want to say.
With the wrong person you can do whatever you want and it will always lead to problems. With the right person you can do whatever you want and there will always be a solution and connection.
Don't get exhausted with partners where it will always be a struggle and try to find someone who wants to work with you together
I realized what big difference it makes after beeing in a toxic relationship and then started dating someone who does not have any toxic behaviors and is emotionally stable.

Not allowing other's feelings phase you but you bring them up. Recapping is something I need to work on. I've definitely been asking more about what he thinks and the good thing is he typically agrees 👍

Hi Geoffrey, I came to watch your new video right away. Ok, I admit I have no relationship atm, but regaining POWER is a topic I like to discuss in my videos too, because it can be applied to yourself too. What I mean is that the way we react is important to analyze towards anybody you have a conversation with, anybody you communicate with.
Life happens and we can’t always control circumstances, but we CAN control our own reaction, our own behavior.
Training to be aware of our reactions and observing ourselves is so important for our growth, our self-development 😀🙏
We have control and POWER over our own lives, we should never let anybody take that power away!

    • @GeoffreySetiawan
      @GeoffreySetiawan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Exactly! It's about understand how we can control our reaction and behavior, and understanding how to strike that fine balance of WANTING.

I've got my girlfriend's texts so they pop up and light up my phone especially so I can reply back pretty quick. Realizing this probably isn't the best for attraction and I notice if I wait even 10-20 minutes her responses after are more affectionate. I think it's best I change to get on with my day and just reply, and be fully present, when I can but not so fast.

What do you do, when you try to create a win-win solution, but the other person does not like you asking questions ( by showing irritation, disregard, annoyance, defensiveness, wanting to shut it down), so you feel they hold on to the win-lose method?

In my current relationship I’ve ended up going from being passive passive all of the time , to blowing up and feeling terrible after. I feel like I now have at least some tools of how to approach situations and conflicts - most importantly to challenge them head on, but in a positive way. @@GeoffreySetiawan my partner is still regularly messaging me but i do notice the difference in his messages as of today, he hasn't said babe to me but regularly messages me. I message him every morning and night just to catch up and we are meeting up as a "date" on Tuesday. He doesn't want to put a label on us and I have moved back home to Cali and hes in Alabama. He plans to come back to Cali after 10 months and he doesn't want to "commit" as in be a label but he still contacts me regularly because i contact him. Should i stop contacting him and calling him babe? He knows that I still want a relationship but should i keep trying to pursue or should i just let go and stop contacting? Allow him to come to me? At first she was gone for a month then she moved back in but we still aren’t together yet, however we did get to have a early valentines dinner together and I still support her when she asks me stuff, however are break isn’t done yet and we haven’t full on gotten back together yet. Is there still hope if I stay strong and not chase? 😅

      Hi Jason,
Once one person changes the way they handle misunderstandings, conflicts, arguments then learns how to create safety to allow their partner to express these issues. That is when your partner's actions and words start to change.
This is why I always say. "It doesn't take two to tango"
      Starts with you!

I like your content mostly because I don't want to deceive or manipulate my wife I just want to change myself so that I deserve her love. My problem is that I am 100% disabled with PTSD and I have been neglectful of her and my kids for a long time. I don't want to do that anymore and I don't work so I have the time to basically be there for them at a moments notice. I feel like I owe them that to make up for the past. Is this hurting my chances and if so with nothing else to do what reason would I give for not being available 24/7?

Hey geofferey. My ex reached out on 15th june after 50 days of nc telling me that she knows i m doing great and that she can see the change. She told me to be strong and told me to keep on doing what am i doing. After two days she contaced me again and was asking me do we deserve each other and i told her its not about deserving and i asked her if she wants to improve on things lets make efforts from both sides to which sge replied YES.. We will forsure meet after lockdown ends.
Plus it us my brothers bday today abd she called me on my cell to talk to him. I mean she could have called him also and My brother told me she was asking about me from him and she was curious asking him how am i and what am i upto these days. I mean she didnt ask these things to me myself and also she has a good contact still with my family and cousins... I mean why is she showing me if she cares and feels for me??

What if I just feel tired of replying to her pointless message or emoji. cause even she initiates the contact first but it usually just something like hi, babe, are you okay, I did reply then she would reply 2 or 3 hours later. This wasn't her pattern as far as how we communicate back then. So it made me became self-awareness about these messages instead of replying to every single of her message.
