well I spent the better part of my day pulling one off and you can say it should pop right off if you want but I'm telling you now, everything I tried was not getting it loose, I tried the hammer, I tried the air hammer, it was not budging. and then looking at it I noticed it was nothing more than a harmonic balance, I got my puller out got some all thread and made some long bolts, hooked it up brought out the air gun and cut loose on it, and that's what got it off. the generator stopped putting out power, the engine still runs good and that's what I needed, and now I'll spend the next 2 or 3 hours putting a motor on my lawn mower. thanks for the video, it did put me in the right direction
Once you got bolt tight you should have just tapped it with that mallet it would have popped right off...No need to buy air compressor/chisel impact....Sometimes if your not maniacally inclined it doesn't help even having videos/instructions to do something..repairing things never follows a set instructions, that's where you have to use your skill...Some people have it some do not...Never use soft metal material trying to force things apart..that's why it mushroomed on you and didn't pop loose ....
