As a kid in middle school, high school, I read books about MACV-SOG, the Green Berets, Delta, Navy Seals, etc. I did not go down that path, instead I joined the Air Force as a Loadmaster on C-17s. I flew all over the world, I loved it. When I got out I went into Law Enforcement with a desire to help people, make a difference in my small area of the world. I draw upon the lessons I’ve read about from these Titans and try to employ their lessons learned in my daily routine and duties. I’ve found it’s kept me alive, I’m able to teach younger, inexperienced LEOs how to conduct themselves. Thank you Brothers who served all those many years ago and shared your stories with us future generations. Your Sacrifices were not in vain. Keep telling your stories! We are listening and waiting for more hard won wisdom! Thank you!

Tilt, proud to say, while in Iraq, I was on a mission that was the modern day 2006 equivalent of ELDEST SON. I being well versed on much of what had been written about SOG was the only one that was aware of the historical significance of what we were doing. Was very exciting.. However, the difference was we only inserted 1 ODA verified. The other was either ODA in disguise( I think he was an iraqi) only 2 were inserted and only one was armed.. We sold SA missiles back to the bad guys, tracked movement and they would detonate when fired.. Lol.. Thanks for paving the way for snake eaters to continue the legacy.

@@5-8bobtherapper55 I wish you could of been there. The overwhelming humor, joy and indescribable excitement in knowing this historical nod to eldest son missions are a fulfilling moment in my Army career... I'll never forget the ODA with his big red beard telling us over I.C.S. what we were doing. It
was a thankful change of pace, as being almost done with a two week rotation of battle field circulation mission(I needed a change) The jaburi tribe was a bunch of smugglers in the north that would literally smuggle anything from cigarettes to SA-16 shoulder fired missiles. Although it was an uneventful mission as far as no contact. It was a successful mission in that we were able to insert 2 operators undetected, they succeeded in their tasking and a.successful exfil followed by Intel as far as tracking to warehouse facilities and bad guy where about.. Lol.. honestly speaking, missions with ODA and Rangers were some of the most fun, dangerous, prideful, memorable moments aside from birth of children I have ever had.

Indeed, I was a kid when these guys came home from that nightmare and I saw how they got treated when they got back and throughout the 70's, even though I was only a kid I still felt like I should do my part to make up for how they were treated, and the only thing that I was capable of doing was to enlist in the military as a way to show them that some of us still believed in our country and that what they'd gone through wasn't in vain, it'll never cease to amaze me that a little kid could see that how they were treated was wrong but somehow that point slipped past the grown-up's of the time.
They were the men who inspired me to enlist and then they were the men who trained me after I did, as with most of the troops I was in with the Vietnam vets were 100% rock star to us, and it's like I've told several of them, "You wouldn't have had to worry about any of us turning tail and running when a fight broke out, because the thought of letting you guy's down was far more horrifying than the thought of getting killed".

I've always admired MAC V SOG since I was a kid, I had family who served in Nam, I'm damn proud to call these men and everyone else who served past, present, and further military personnel my Brothers and Sisters in Arms 4 Life.

I clicked on this so fast. Funny I was just listening to another episode with Tilt and Jocko said "we gotta get the SOGcast going.." ... Tilt said "We will do it" and here we are. Thank you Jocko, Tilt, Echo, and all the legendary Vietnam vets!! Absolute units

So stoked you guys are giving The SOG operations their due attention. I try to read as much as I can on the Vietnam War and nothing challenged everything I imagined or thought I understood about the courage and ferocity of the troops who fought there than what you guys did. Thank you × infinity.

Great to see this pop up, will be good to listen to on my walk.
If I may, I suspect one of your microphones might be backwards. There's a little bit of a phasey "drain pipe" effect on Tilt's voice, which you get if you have two copies of the same audio with a short time delay, such as two mics at different distances hearing the same thing. George's mic also sounds duller, which happens when you speak into the wrong side. What I think is happening is that both mics are pointed at Tilt. It's totally listenable as is, just trying to help.
