The BCAT - Brief Cognitive Assessment Tool - is a wonderful system that includes 6 different screening tests & assessments. The full BCAT examines not only memory but attentional capacity, executive functioning, and working memory.
From an occupational therapist driving specialist standpoint (OT-DRS), the information that the BCAT provides is INVALUABLE, especially when we are addressing driving for a client with any form of cognitive impairment (think brain injury, dementia, MCI, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and more!).
It is a GREAT screening tool for any OT completing a Driving Risk Assessment and with is detailed computer report, it helps to connect clients to the right resources at the right time.
