In this video Heimler takes you through Unit Topic 1 of AP Government.
We'll consider the profound impact of Enlightenment thought on the founders of the United States. Chief among these ideas were natural rights (John Locke & Thomas Hobbes), popular sovereignty and the social contract (Jean-Jacques Rousseau), and republican government and the separation of powers (Baron de Montesquieu).
Additionally, we'll consider how these ideas found their way into two of our foundational documents: the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

I remain, your humble servant.

This man got me a 5 on APW and APUSH, and I couldn't be happier to have this man for another year of AP History.
Do you have any advice for getting an A in Apush?
@@nopenope4673 Pay attention to the lectures and practice the DBQs, SAQs, and LEQs a lot
@@nopenope4673 For me, it was a lot of just enjoying the class in general. It is easy to treat a class as exactly that and start to feel like the whole course is a drag. If you find something or find a way to actually enjoy the content it becomes much more memorable and you will end up retaining a lot more of the information taught.
@@yamato6827 I'm an absolute history nut, so I enjoyed learning APUSH and history classes in general
same bro
Bruh this dude loves the class of ‘22 I swear
You're awesome! You uploaded AP World videos when I took the class 2 years ago, you uploaded APUSH when I took the class last year, and now you're uploading AP Gov videos, which I'm taking this year! Thanks for all the hard work!
Love it when that happens :)

@@heimlershistory AP ECON this year?
Your back must be aching from carrying the class of 2022.
Nah, I got plenty more where that came from...
Not taking AP gov this year, but with a 5 on apush might as well stick around and get some extra brain cows milked
There's always room for another brain cow at the milking station.
How lucky is it that he posts these at the same time I’m taking the course for 3 years
I’m looking forward to the rest of this series throughout the year! I really enjoyed the APUSH review last year.
YOURE ALREADY STARTING OMG ?? i’m not ready i start school next week 😭😭
I think he prefers to stay ahead. Probably for the minority who’s very ahead in the curriculum and/or start school very early.
Yep, a lot of people in my state start classes today...
This man is a saint, he got me through my high school classes, and now helping me through my college class. Thank you so much man🙏
Anyone else here 2024! >_
Got a 4 on APUSH this year because of this man. Thanks.
I don’t know if you’re ever gonna read this, but you helped me get a 4 on APUSH last year so thank you so much!! Here’s to another successful year in AP Gov!
I read it. And CONGRATS!
Wish I had these videos when I was taking AP Gov last year for my sophomore year. At least I have your AP U.S History videos to watch this year 😃
Thank you so much for your videos! Watched every single AP Gov video you made! So incredibly helpful, entertaining, and memorable!
Okay, people, this is fantastic. I got a 5.
My class didn't really go over AP gov stuff. I knew the branches and all about the filibuster, but that's it. So, what did I do?
I watched every single one of these videos, took notes on every single one, and looked over my notes at least once. Then I memorized all the supreme court cases. That means, if someone tells you a case name, you can say the outcome and who was involved.
Then I looked at Heimlers videos, learning what the different types of questions would be, familiarizing myself.
Now, keep in mind, I have very good memory. You may need more, you may need less studying. But this worked for me.
Hi, I was wondering whether it's enough to just look at the videos? Because exams are close and I didn't study all the materials yet.
getting a head start :)
Well, a lot of folks start classes today or next week so I’m trying to get them taken care of...
Thanks g, really helpful and ez to digest content. I can see your channel becoming the place dudes go to for years to come for their AP stuff.
You're most welcome. I shall look forward to having you around...
I got a 5 in AP Gov/Pol last year. And I’m still watching this.

As I a senior that was completely checked out this whole year. Your videos were the best thing that happened. I watched ur videos multiple times before the Ap test and I’m positive I got a 5, so thank you so much. You’re such a great teacher and I appreciate u so much. Keep being great❤️
