Wish the app supported turn by turn navigation. It’s crazy handy to have on Garmin watches for hiking and trail running.

@@UltraTrailSteven The Footpath app supports it, however under a subscription model. From my research so far it looks to be the best option out there. I believe the WOD developer is planning to add this too, whether or not it happens and if it results in a more expensive app or subscription as well is hard to say.
I use this app and Athlytic which I consider a must have companion app for recovery ,sleep ,exertion and other metrics to make sense.
the Ultra Watch while providing the metrics doesn’t make any recommendations regarding your recovery and such.
And I have the Ultra 1 and not going to update it as it’s Ultra no less compared to the Ultra 2.
Ultra 2 is the better Ultra for those who don’t have an Ultra.
I use the Ultrahuman Air Ring for my recovery and sleep data, but Athlytic sounds like a great app too! Yeah I agree, if you already have the Watch Ultra, there isn't really a need to update to the Ultra 2. But if someone is looking for their first Apple Watch Ultra, then the Utlra 2 is the way to go

As a regular runner that like to go on easy/long runs, runs almost every day. Would you recommend buying this app or sticking with native apple watch workout app. I saw that apple added customizable data fields, heart rate zones, running power, altitude graph. So i'm wondering what is your opinion. What would you recommend? 🙂
The native app has definitely gotten better! However, if you like to create GPX routes and need a map and navigation, then I definitely recommend the WorkoutDoors app!

Great review! Once you pay for the app, can you use it on more than one Apple Watch? I currently have a series 6 and I’m considering getting one ultra or ultra 2.
That’s a good question. I would think yes as long as they are both on the same Apple ID.

When i get to the map screen and swipe to go to another screen i just move the map. Is there a trick to go from the map screen to another screen?
Found it. Swipe below the map to change screens.
Yeah that frustrated me for a minute too. Sometimes you may tap the screen and it will go back to the other features too

What made you go with AWU over Garmin or Coros?
I already have or have tested every COROS watch made (currently have the APEX Pro, PACE 3, APEX Pro 2, and VERTIX 2). Garmin won’t answer my emails lol. Plus I bought this for the TH-cam channel.
Gotcha, I was pretty surprised to see an ultra runner favoring the AWU and it peaked my interest. Thanks for the reply. Do you see yourself sticking with it or going back to a dedicated running watch?
@@youcantseeme63 I love the smart features of the AWU2, so I will keep using it for weekly runs. However, for ultra races I will likely still use one of my COROS watches.

My preferred on is the Gaiagps app. They have a website too.
