Gibbons remains the most underrated guitar player in rock and blues. The average listener thinks, "he's good." But great guitar players know that he is absolutely one of the GOATs. His playing is so deceptive due to its simplicity. But he was a man born with RHYTHM and SOUL. And you can hear it throughout all his music. And his riffs and licks are straight JAMMIN. I hope Gibbons knows just how great he was and is and will always be. A true guitar god and legend. Thank you for enriching our lives with your music.

Only underrated by those that don’t know. If Jimi says he was the best, you can take it to the bank he’s on the Mt Rushmore of all time greatest guitar players. I met him once. Interesting dude.

I was never a major fan of Hagar's solo songs, but I must admit he seems like a fun guy to hang around and jam with. He has this cool laid back personality.

What's funny is Sammy has his whole long lived prolific career , from montrose to solo, and ofcourse van Halen, and he is genuinely like a kid around people he admires in his adoration, he doesnt show any egotism , its great.
I have a huge amount of respect for Billy G and ZZ Top. I went to a concert in Clearlake CA about 10 years ago. It was pouring rain, cold and windy. Billy came out and said if you guys gotta be in it we're playing in it. They played straight through with no breaks. It was the best sounding guitar overdrive I've ever heard.
I was at that concert,was my 1st & only time at that venue & 1st time to see ZZ Top. They were wearing all white & the equipment was white. They played almost every single song you'd want them to play. Me & my friends had on our thick jackets & perfectly content in the rain. It some how made it that much more sweeter & epic to see them in pouring rain.

I’ve never been a huge Sammy Hagar fan but damn that sounded good. I would definitely go see these two if they ever did a show.

At the end, I found myself smiling from ear to ear. That was out of this world. What a fine blues voice Sammy has and Mr Gibbons well he’s Mr Gibbons. 🤟

I first heard Sammy on a track called “Rock the Nation” when I was just a kid. It was on an album I bought in 1973 called “Montrose”. And here we are 48 years later......and holy shit, he’s still going!!!
And that album still sounds killer to this day.

Saw ZZ Top 2 weeks ago. 3rd row on Billy’s side of stage. He blew me away. He makes it look effortless.

Hey, don't forget about Sammy, man that cat has been around man. Back in the Montrose days, the Red Rocker can't drive 55, Van Hagar, Chickenfoot, and jamming the Reverend Billy F. Gibbons. Man what a line up. And all the other people that he set on stage with and played with.
@@tfjack97 huge Sammy fan & Micheal Anthony too. Got to see Van Hagar several times, once got to front of stage in 92 OKC mosh pit style. Billy’s different style is just really appreciated live. I was as blown away as I was with EVH.

Sammy Hagar is a class act lol he was in South Lake Tahoe the week of September 2nd back in like 2012 when I turned 18. We were checking out of our house we rented and I held the door
open for this blonde haired dude with a tequila tattoo on his arm I can’t remember the brand but i told him “nice tattoo” to which he looked at me and smiled and said “thank you it happens to be my favorite, have a great weekend.” I get back in the car with my parents and my dad (who literally never speaks) turns around to me and goes “you don’t know who that was so do you” I said no and he just laughed. Didn’t connect the dots until we drive down by the hard rock casino and saw pictures of him and was baffled.
I was smiling ear to ear that whole time!!!
over 3 decades later, these two are such good friends and great musicians their spirits just connect in a way that makes the rest of us with the interview didn't stop. so much fun.

I've heard about the way Billy plays these "cheater chords" and inversions now I've seen it. No wasted movements. Full sound w/ less strings. Very awesome! Nobody sounds like this cat! The feel and groove is unmistakable. Love the ordinary Orange practice amp too!
He's playing a Carr Raleigh amp. Pretty sure the Orange Crush is for the tech.

I went too a concert at Nassau Collosium . SAMMY OPENED FOR ZZTOP. THE BEST AND LOUDEST SHOW I EVER SEEN. OUTSTANDING.
I saw Buddy a few years back when he was 83. I took my son, told him this is the bar for a great concert!! Buddy rocks! ( Jimmy opened BTW).
