That’s awesome, you’re gonna crush it! If you have any questions about getting stared, feel free to ask and I’ll always try to make a video to cover the topic.
This is really similar to how I had my first van, over time - you will find things that work and don’t, so to all you newbies out there… don’t get stuck on “my van has to be perfect or look good to get started” that isn’t true! Build it out, use it, find what works and doesn’t, improve , repeat!
The only thing I would recommend is add a wire fence that would swivel up out of the way by hinges for that top storage area. That is a VERY nice setup and I love that a lot of stuff is controlled by a remote.
Nice setup. I’ve been detailing for almost 9 years and I’ve had several setups…I still don’t understand the need for a water pump. If you design your setup with the pressure washer 2-3” below the water tank you don’t have to worry about a water pump ever.
I would highly suggest putting a wall behind the car seats. That will ensure in the event of a car accident nothing flies to the front. I’m sure you probably have some fasteners on some things but your bag etc do not and will fly forward and cause bodily harm. Especially in case someone else is in the car with you and was preventable. For a cheap wood setup this looks well done and I’m sure helps out a lot. Good luck!
You got everything you need to detail & that’s all that matters. It’s good quality stuff too. Looks to me that you might have a kink in the yellow and black hose. Keep up the great work 👊🏻.
Great setup. Can't wait to see the new products you're using. I have 3D Bug Remover and Super Soak coming next week. Detailer friend in SC swears by both. Breaking down cost it's hard to beat. 3D hasn't let me down yet.
min 11:44 Could you please share where did you buy that pressure relieve valve? also what is the pressure relieve setting? is it adjustable? I am going through this nightmare of connecting this... and like you said no one has the right answer anywhere. No Home depot, no Lowes, nor tractor supply or ACE... feels like im building a rocket. I tried a more dedicated Plumbing store and basically they refuse to answer any questions because I dont have an account and Im not a contractor.
This seems to be the #1 questions I get but it’s near impossible to get in there and see what’s going on nor do I remember every fitting. But if I build another setup, I will definitely do so!!
About to get a van and I'm unsure what size water tank I'll need as it'll determine the size of the van. does the 250L (65 Gallon) tank last you a while or do you have to fill it up often? Thanks. great video :)
Can you do a more im depth video on your water pump set up with the pressure release. I ended up buying the water pump but returned it because it was doing exactly what you said it would do.
@@DetailWithJess I was going to ask a similar question. I have a 40 gallon rectangular tank from Amazon and I was wondering if you think that is enough to do one car without limiting the water output? I never plan on doing more than one car/customer at a time. It's a hard question to answer I know but thanks for replying
Thanks so much for sharing this, I have one question, where did you get your pressure washer hose reel from and is is it high psi built so I doesn’t blow out?, thanks so much.
That’s awesome! Honestly, just set your biggest items in place first and work the rest around it. Take into consideration what you actually need. Like, in an SUV setup, you could fit a small water tank but you could also use your clients water in a lot of cases. So focus on what you need and what you can use of your client and just factor that into your pricing.
Hi Jess! I admire your setup, very convenient and efficient! Question; I have tried to connect my pressure washer using the remote control you have! I follow the instructions, but I haven’t been able to make it work. When I program the receiver with the remote, it turns it on/off (receiver) but the pressure washer won’t work, it turns on at first but when I turn off both, and then turn it back on, the pressure washer won’t. Any advice I will really appreciate it. Best wishes on your business!!
Do you leave the other valve open while the water is pumping to the pressure washer or do you open it every time you let off the handle of the pressure washer?
The pressure release valve has a short hose attached to it that I either leave to drain outside the van or back into the tank; I think that’s the “other valve” that you are asking about.
The splitter valve has two valves.. they should both be open all the time... " You have to adjust them to regulate water pressure" one flows more than the other but you need enough water pressure in order to satisfy " your pressure washers FACTORY GPM SO READ YOUR PRESSURE WASHER MANUAL"... GPM =GALLONS PER MINUTE....
My very first client came from putting a post on my personal Facebook page. Someone I used to work with messaged me immediately asking me to do their 3 cars, so I highly recommend using the network you have to get you started! This is not my area of expertise but it is just a pump sprayer pressure release valve. My husband got this one from a local farm store. I’m sure amazing has them as well.
Yes, just the actual build of the van’s wood was $300 - I fully share the cost of everything in my van tour video here th-cam.com/video/skvOjG5_iYs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UUHEoJU-loGh9em8 but like you said, it was somewhere in the $3,000 ballpark
Thank you, appreciate that comment. I have seen a lot of professional builds that are full on custom welded jobs that do cost thousands and I have no idea how people afford them so, yes, I wanted to share that it can be done for cheaper and still look good.
I'm 23 Years old - just started auto detailing, this is my dream. Your Vids gives me hope that it is possible.. thank you ❤❤ take care!

I heard both good and bad about gravity feeding the pressure washer so I just opted not to take the chance and just put the pump in.
How many pressure washers have you bought in 9 years?
Thank you so much I'm a detailer on weekends and wanted to become movile and your video help me alot thank you

Very professional five stars 😊❤
awesome job. It’s a nice set up you have and kudos to you for building your own set up
Thanks!
I was looking for the 300 build lol That's like a 6500 💵 setup
The actual build was $300…as for the actual total, one of my earlier videos has the exact cost but it was nowhere near $6,500 😉
Awesome setup
Awesome setup I think next time I do my setup. I'm going to do something like your. 👍

I definitely like your setup and there’s a guy here in Richmond,Virginia builds and customizes detailed mobile vans
Thanks! Yeah, you can definitely get someone to build it out for you pretty legit if you want to spend the $$
Awesome set up. A lot of thought went into that
Thank you! Definitely a lot of research! We’ve built out 3 vans before, but just never a work van.
Very informative video, I'm new to detailing. Can you explain what the green hose is used for?
Great set up and informative
Thanks!
Same thing I’m doing this week.
That’s awesome!
Hi Jess, great video so informative! Where did you get that pressure relief valve? You wouldn't happen to have a link would you?
Great video, very impressive DIY set up/

Tap in to the 30amp plug on the generator! You’ll be able to run multiple tools at once
Oooh! I’ll get an adapter and do that!

very nice setup

Hook a hose to your compressor drain
Tip for you where your pressure relief valve is coming off. You can't eat there within valve screw your hose fitting into it to fill up your 😁

Prettiest detailer in the US !
Can you do a more im depth video on your water pump set up with the pressure release. I ended up buying the water pump but returned it because it was doing exactly what you said it would do.
You need the pressure release valve in order to not have it do that.
Everyone is always asking for this - I just know nothing about it! My husband built out my van 😵💫 which is why I haven’t done a more in depth video
Jess, awesome set up, thanks for sharing! So how many cars can you do with a 65 gallon tank?
Thank you! If you’re efficient, you could definitely get two….a real efficient detailer could probably get 3.

@Jess
Will you be willing to share how much you gross in a week or your average income per hour including commute time?
How many cars can you wash with the 65 gallon tank
What is the name of the pressure release valve you use and where did you purchase it? Thanks in advance, I’ve been through 4 sea flow pumps.
Ooof, there’s no special name to it but it is an agricultural pressure release valve from a local farm store. Any one should do the trick for you!
How did you bolt that down , did you bolt it down to the frame of the car ?
The tank? The tank isn’t bolted in, just framed in and strapped in to the floor.
Do you leave the other valve open while the water is pumping to the pressure washer or do you open it every time you let off the handle of the pressure washer?
The pressure release valve has a short hose attached to it that I either leave to drain outside the van or back into the tank; I think that’s the “other valve” that you are asking about.

I cannot find a Splitter with a Pressure Relief Valve anywhere.. is that what it’s called?
We found one at a local hardware store..but yes, it is a pressure release valve.
How do you fill the tank with water and where?
In CT I have a well and fill up there. In FL I have access to water in my campground.
Do you have a link for the pressure relief valve
Harbor freight
💯💯💯
Bonjour une question quel est la puissance du groupe électrogène
3500 W
Where did you get the spray bottle carrier?
It is a horse grooming tote, you can find one at Tractor Supply!
@DetailWithJess thanks!
why do i need a water pump? cant i just connect strraight to the pressure washer
I didn’t want to deal with gravity fed…a lot of people do it, I’ve found it puts a lot of strain on my pressure washer going without the pump.
How strong generator do we need for this setup?
This is a 3500w
Anyone know the pressure relief valve being used?
This is always the top asked question and it has no name on it…i just got it at a farm store because they’re often used in agricultural
sprayers.
can somebody help me find that pressure relief valve or something similar please :(
This is not my area of expertise but it is just a pump sprayer pressure release valve. My husband got this one from a local farm store. I’m sure amazing has them as well.
