I made rock, punk, and newwave all my life, but always been a metalhead inside. I love your metal mornings cause i can easely thanks to you dig into all these subgenres, which for the most of them i never heard of ever… but most of all, Ola, you gave me the strengh and the motivation to buy me a new guitar (i sold all my gear as soon as i saw i couldn’t make recordings or live anymore….) and to try to play, for myself, just for the pleasure. Your pantera vids are incredible, and i think this is what made me have all this idea from. Sorry for my bad english, i’m French. Keep on the good work, i love you both and thanks for all what you bring to me.

i don't think djent is a genre it's more of a guitar style like shred you can find djent on prog rock, prog metal, metalcore, and deathcore just like how you can find shred on hard rock, heavy metal, and thrash metal

Blackened Death Metal is a mix of the genres of Black Metal and Death Metal. You wouldn't say, that either of these is not a genre. While we're at it, Djent is NOT a technique. The technique used here is called palm-muting. Guess what, you have that in a ton of other genres. Are these not genres? Djent is a genre. Period.

I don't and won't have the ambition to get on stage or in front of a camera to play... But it is fun to entertain friends and family. A lack of females does not necessarily mean that it's dominated by men. We would love more females in the metal scene. It's quiet the opposite of what you are saying; It doesn't get the love and deserved appreciation by women. We are worthy!

I got into Meshuggah around the time of the None EP. The first “bands” I remember thinking were heavily influenced by them were Bulb and Chimp Spanner, who were both just posting tracks to the internet, I believe. Those were the good old days before the genre got such a stigma… Meshuggah always stays head and shoulders above it all somehow. They are definitely legends. And in the studio now!
As Finn McKenty recently said in one of his videos, Djent seems to be the apex of metal right now. Like the ultimate point of convergence for all modern metal which all other metal subgenres are headed to.
Everyone seems to forget Fear Factory when they talk about "djent." While they may not fit the bill for what we know as djent today, the guitar was very much an early form of djent...
Yeah, the tones and odd rhythms that Dino brings together with industrial styles definitely remind me of Meshuggah. Interesting how bands can get similar results from very different influences
@@evanhancock4657 fear factory and meshuggah were both primarily influenced by 80s thrash metal, but that's where the similarity ends. just because something is very rhythmic doesn't make it djent, which has more to do with polymeters. fear factory compared to meshuggah is pretty simple. you've got dino playing triplets along with the kick drum. the rhythm's themselves are very simplistic and predictable however. that isn't to say FF is bad or anything, but the comparison can only be extremely superficial.

Sikth are awesome I was lucky to support them in my old band at Hull City Hall in 2002 they later invited me onstage with Miocene to sing on their final track of rhe set they also gave me a rig tour on sound check before our set they are absolutely awesome guy's there is a video of it circulating somewhere I hope I can get hold of it again😀🤘🤘

I’ve always said Djent is a sound, not a genre. It’s the chugging sound a guitar makes when you play that style.
I've always thought of Djent as the Dubstep of metal, it will come and go...

Sikth are awesome I was lucky to support them in my old band at Hull City Hall in 2002 they later invited me onstage with Miocene to sing on their final track of rhe set they also gave me a rig tour on sound check before our set they are absolutely awesome guy's there is a video of it circulating somewhere I hope I can get hold of it again😀🤘🤘
I think Louise is great playing the 'non-musician-music-consumer' on the MM (metal morning) series, but today her interaction shined: she asked what i would've asked and she really knows her bands. Oola how's the EQD Bit Corrupter review coming along?

Zornheym are excellent. My band opened for them in Edinburgh, which was a bit weird as we're groove/thrash based but it was a very fun show and they were incredible.
