I was about to comment the same. I'm interesting to know the difference between winter and summer. I feel like the gap have to more important for the Lambo than the Subaru.
Yes, what does summer in UK mean. Pushing Subie's in heat is another study in itself here in the states. IAT concerns, front mount inner cooler, tune, fuel type and ratio, timing..... Nothing to see 100°F on track at 6pm here in summer.
overdrive is a bit of a meme though, in the sense that it's used by more generic media as saying super fast but it's actually just the unexciting cruising gear for doing 70 on the highway
Conditions can definitely make a “weaker” car more competitive. We have seen that in F1 during wet races. Would be great if you could have a rematch in summer (hot and dry) conditions. Would also be great to see extra money spent on bigger turbo and tune as suggested in last video
I think you guys should reach out to donut and have budget car Olympics. Take all the usual tests (breaking, tightest circle at a set speed, 0-60, designated pro lap time, average host lap time) and set a budget and go head to head. That would be so epic. You guys both release build videos over the course of a month and then big joint finale.
I’d like to see them run again in the summer. I think the tricky conditions really play to the Subarus strengths would be interesting to see if it can manage to keep up in the dry.

This cat was only used because VW could'nt provide an oem cat and not even give a date of availability. So, my Golf was just equiped with a new and reliable non-vw turbo and a huge cat. Then I got it remapped. I asked for torque, without specifying the amount of HP "needed". The result was a 500Nm, and power just shy of 400hp. I had checked the performances before the turbo crashed: the car was doing 0-100km/h in around 4,8 (on average). After the car was modified AND carefully runned in ( since many partis in the motor had been changed for new ones: 3000km!), the following figures emerged from another planet: O-100km/h was now between 3"9 and 4"1. And it was still a pleasure to drive anywhere anytime. Since I love driving on snow and ice, I drove it alot in the alps in the winter and most of all, in northern Lappland. Donut Media and you guys upgrading WRXs and driving the absolute beans off them, makes me proud to be a Subaru owner with my (base model) 07 Impreza, even after the painful experience of needing a replacement engine.
Donut's series and all of the accompanying commenters who've had to replace engines, have almost totally scared me off of wanting to buy an old wrx. Some thoughts for season 2. Keep the car a bit more clean. Im not against weight savings but you originally wanted this to be a possible daily and its not. Clearly you could have left lots of stuff in and still beat the supercar, especially with a turbo. This racetrack is very good for tuned cars. Supercars excel on bigger circuits. So the new version should beat it in 0-100/200 topspeed and laptime all at the same time. To make it a challenge and truly a supercar replacement.
This has been an amazing series, and after watching this and Donut's (still ongoing) newest season of HiLow, we NEED to see all 3 Imprezas in a showdown. The Bananaru is definitely gonna need a turbo upgrade for that.

Yeah a rematch would be cool in dry conditions. But still awesome to see the bananaru beat the lambo in difficult conditions.
Give the track a good layer of snow and a Fiat Panda 4x4 would thrash the Lambo?
This, and get full coverage insurance on the lambo. That's not a car you want to crash for a balls-out track run YT comparo.

Great series and I am also sad to see it end.
Little disappointed for last episode to be this short but any ways well done🤟🏼
Thanks for showing that you dont have to have a max budget to build a fun car. Carefully combined mods can make a huge difference to performance.
I would love to see how fast it is with the full budget used.
Incredible series ! You could have gone 15 seconds faster than the lambo and only for 2000£ if you went for kart.
PLEASE keep going!! Spend the rest of the budget and see how far you can get!
amazing series, lads
loved every minute! Maybe blow the rest of the budget and go for the massive turbo just to celebrate
Up the budget for the Subaru and go after a hypercar or dedicated track car next.
Thanks for all the great videos!
One of the coolest series I’ve ever seen. I thought this series was brilliant and absolutely loved every second of this. I loved the builds most and I’m dying for a season 2
👆Thanks for the feedback expect more videos soon and send a direct massage I have some Christmas surprise for you🎅🎅🎄🎄🎁🎁🎉🎉🎊🎊.
Wow, I really loved every video! Honestly, I got quite sad when I heard it was over.
Really looking forward to the next season! (would love to see it as soon as possible ;) )
Thank you for such great content, keep it going and I am sure you will go far!!!
i mean the murcielago is objectively the best looking modern lambo
your content is great and it being low budget , makes it better ( for me the viewer)
( low budget as compared to say top gear and other shows, not that you guys are bottom shelf material)
Excellent idea and it was great to watch you mod the Subaru. I think with it having four wheel drive it’s helped it beat the Lamborghini on a damp track. So I’d love to see you do it again on a dry circuit as I definitely think it would be very close
Amazing work ang great result! Was always anticipating new series of you upgrading Bananaru and now I am satisfied. One more thing - test it in June as well, let's see how ot goes! Thank you!!!
That is freaking awesome! Much better test than a boring drag race. Also, as a proud owner of 2 different Subaru WRX wagons... that makes me warm inside.
Loved the series! Can't wait for #2.
those were actually perfect track conditions for this kind of test in my opinion
This whole series and vibe of the channel was the highlight of automotive youtube '22
Can't believe Need For Speed MW (2005) was right all along.
we gonna need a rematch in more sunny conditions, so sad the series is over!! Great stuff guys, cheers from Brazil
For season 2: see if you can get a Toyota MR-2 to outperform a modern mid-engine supercar
This series was very enjoyable, thanks guys! You should do it again in the spring!
Thank you for the series, it has been such a good time watching it! Love guys
