This is the best fragrance channel on TH-cam hands down. There’s comedy, honest reviews, alternative suggestions, field testing, and now we’re getting into how us fragrance lovers can go beyond smelling someone else’s creations. I love this channel
So good to see you taking our suggestions and putting out alternative content other than just a "best of..." list like so many others. THIS is why I subscribed, and follow you. Great job! Keep em comin! The lists are good to hear/watch but original content like this is what sets your channel apart. Thank you!
@@SchoolOfScentHi! What’s the difference between patchouli light EO and patchouli EO? I can’t find any information about that. And can I use patchouli light EO in the base notes or is it better for heart notes?

Hey Omar, great video once again! Happy holidays and keep up the good work, this is very interesting and informative, no one has done this before in a video, really enjoyed it and i would love to try to create something on my own, my favorite perfumer is Alberto Morillas.
You should definitely continue this series as a current perfumer that has gained many experience with his journey! Love your channel, following you since the beginning. Very original and sincere content. Keep going, greetings from Turkey!
Enjoyed it, I got a perfume studio kit for Christmas and have only just started to have a go at it, plus it saves me adding yet another fragrance to my collection. I am really tempted to try the Cotswold perfumery....birthday coming up and not too far away. Always appreciate your videos! Take care
Fantastic explanation for beginners. Looking forward to exploring your channel. I’m excited to begin my journey as a perfumer. But living in Australia is a bit frustrating.
I've actually been looking to see if there's a site that will take notes and make you a fragrance the top notes are Cherry, Pear, Ginger and Coriander; middle notes are Red Pepper, Sage and Basil; base notes are Dark Chocolate, Vanilla, Whipped cream, Amber and Patchouli they've never in my knowledge been in a cologne only a body spray
Great video ! I'm playing with the idea of creating a soap company and wanted to learn to make colognes to match our soaps. Thank you for the information I will be back !
Best Content. You took the fragrance review and the understanding to a new level. Please make contact with how you break down fragrance notes. A machine, a chemical test?
I really appreciate this video. Especially as I’ve been curious about making fragrances. I’ll have to take a course, starting with your linked free course, then move forward. I have a few ideas I want to see come how they work together.
So i have this scent that I love in oil form but want to turn it into cologne. What type and strength alcohol should I mix it with and how much alcohol to I need for a Oz of oil? Thank you!
Excllent guide, you strongly contributed to my beginnings in perfumery! What a great passion! Being a content creator too, great work my friend. Do you write entirely all your videos or only follow bullet points? A lot of work behind all this, take care :)
I think it was a lovely presentation well thought out and comprehensible to even newbies I certainly appreciate it and I will watch more of yours if appropriate for me and my mission I've always loved fragrance and I've dabbled in it on and off for probably 40 years but I'm wanting to get into it again because I'm just not interested in mainstream fragrances or exorbitantly expensive fragrances either and this might be a way for me to find that happy medium
I spent close to $2,000 on homebrewing/home distilling (Hobby only) Trying to find a use of my by-product liquor other than fire starter and weed killer.
Loved this video. I review scent related products on my channel and have been falling down the fragrance rabbit hole lately. I bought a bunch of FO to mix but haven't been satisfied with the results and feel I need to experience better materials to mix. This video was great and gave me some info I was looking for! Fan of your reviews as well.
Does anybody know if they offer perfumery courses in the u.s? If not what would be the best thing to do or first thing to do if you wanna get started in all this
Thanks mate for this informative video! I just bought some (absolutes) and essential oils from the website u mentioned and I’ll dilute them myself with ethanol and make my own fragrance 😎
There is a lot of paperwork needed to make sure the product is IFRA compliant, but theoretically yes, if you can then produce in bulk your final Compound
Question. What can I do to increase the performance of the fragrances that I create. Also I am new to perfumery and currently I am hand mixing my compositions, are there any tips that you can recommend that will enable me to blend my fragrances as well as possible?
So I asked ChatGPT to create a great smelling mens woody cologne. I wanted you to see the list it gave me and wanted you to know I bought essential oils and replaced the witch hazel with perfumers alcohol. It has been 5 hours and it keep continuing to sperate. Is this normal, and did I mess up with my measurements after swapping witch with perfumers alc. Also I didn't use water yet. Thanks.... P.S. I love your channel.! Creating a cologne with a captivating scent involves carefully selecting a blend of essential oils and fragrance notes that complement each other. Here's a simple recipe to create a fresh, clean, and sophisticated cologne with an enticing, long-lasting fragrance. Best Smelling Cologne Recipe: Fresh Citrus & Woody Blend Ingredients: Jojoba Oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil (for the base) - 2 tablespoons Distilled Water - 1 tablespoon (optional, for dilution) Witch Hazel - 1 tablespoon (to help blend oils and act as a preservative) Essential Oils (see the breakdown below): Top Notes (Citrus, Fresh): 10 drops Bergamot (citrusy, sweet, and uplifting) 6 drops Lemon (bright and refreshing) Middle Notes (Floral, Herbaceous): 8 drops Lavender (calming and floral) 5 drops Geranium (light floral with a touch of rose) Base Notes (Earthy, Woody): 6 drops Sandalwood (warm, creamy, and grounding) 4 drops Cedarwood (woody, rich, and calming) 3 drops Patchouli (earthy, grounding, and complex) Instructions: Prepare the Bottle: Use a clean, empty glass spray bottle (preferably 50ml to 100ml size). Make sure it's dark-colored (amber or cobalt) to preserve the essential oils. Base Liquid: Pour 2 tablespoons of Jojoba oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil into the bottle. This acts as the base for your cologne, providing a smooth application. Add 1 tablespoon of Witch Hazel. This helps the oils mix together and acts as a preservative. If you want to dilute the fragrance for a lighter scent, add 1 tablespoon of Distilled Water. Adding Essential Oils: Add the essential oils in the following order: Top Notes, Middle Notes, and then Base Notes. Start with the Bergamot and Lemon (top), then the Lavender and Geranium (middle), and finish with Sandalwood, Cedarwood, and Patchouli (base). Mix and Test: Once all the ingredients are added, tightly close the bottle and shake it well. Let it sit for at least 24 hours to allow the oils to meld together. This will enhance the fragrance and help it "settle." Final Adjustment: After 24 hours, open the bottle and test the fragrance. If you want a stronger scent, add a few more drops of your favorite notes (e.g., a bit more Sandalwood for a woodier base or Lemon for a fresh zing). Shake again and let the fragrance sit for another 24 hours if needed to reach your desired strength. Application: Your cologne is ready to use! Spray it onto pulse points like your wrists, neck, and behind your ears. The scent will evolve as you wear it, lasting for several hours. Scent Profile Breakdown: Top Notes: Bright and fresh, these are the first scents you’ll notice. They dissipate quickly but provide an initial burst of freshness. Bergamot: Citrusy and slightly floral, a fresh start. Lemon: Uplifting and sharp, giving a fresh twist. Middle Notes: These form the body of the fragrance and last longer than the top notes. Lavender: Calming and herbaceous, balancing the citrus notes. Geranium: Adds a rosy, floral element. Base Notes: These provide depth and longevity to the scent, sticking around for hours. Sandalwood: Rich, creamy, and smooth. Cedarwood: Adds a clean, woody foundation. Patchouli: Earthy and grounding, providing complexity. Tips for Success: Experiment with Proportions: Fragrance is personal, so feel free to adjust the ratios of top, middle, and base notes to create a scent you love. Store Properly: Keep your cologne in a cool, dark place to prevent the oils from degrading over time. Patience: The longer you let the cologne sit (a week or two), the more the scents will blend and mature. This recipe creates a sophisticated, versatile cologne that’s perfect for everyday wear or special occasions. Enjoy crafting your signature scent!

How do you design your own company bottles? And how much would it cost you?
I'd have always dreamt of this. It would be one of my perfect jobs. I'm interested in fragrance, but, the cheaper ones. Develop my own fragrance's
Late to this party but very much want to make my own creations
What happens of there are not diluted? What is the pros and cons for handling a material thats not diluted?
It’s not safe and is harder to work with for beginners, diluted is strongly recommended.
Any recommendations for workshops/ classes in New York
City? Preferably in Manhattan?
Not the league of legends on a console 😂😂😂😂 great video !
Where to buy oils from😅
I want to start making fragrances but what do I put in a bottle? Is it the perfume alchohol and just the scent or? Love the vid btw
To make a useable fragrance
Wait I get you mixed the liquids but how do you make it enough to be at 50ml or 100ml do you add specific water or how does this work?
You keep the percentages the same of fragrance oil diluted to perfumers alcohol
Thanks so much, happy to find you
Hope this series continues
