keep in mind the pit also adds to the award - bluecoats was a shocker but tbh didnt pay attention to them bc i always was watching BD or boston highlights
Taking the average of the last three shows-qrts-pre-and finals always produces the most consistent line during the final days of tour. BC was so close and then averaged out the rest in the end. As another commenter said, I didn't really watch BC much. Focusing in on SCV, Boston and BD. Stranger things have happened. I marched in a line that tied for the Sanford back in the day and the judges had never experienced that, so they broke the tie by giving the line with the highest general effect score the trophy. So although we tied, they got the trophy. 😪
Just because a line wins the Sanford doesn’t mean they had the “best drumline” that year. We also have to take into account arranging, consistency, and the experience of a line. If you think about those things plus the front ensemble and the keytar soloist then Bloo deserves the Sanford fs. Definitely Boston a close second. Very close.
@@Brockstar i'd argue BC's front ensemble arrangement and cleanness was better. drumline wise, could've been better, but I think the front ensemble's greatness made up for it compared to other corps

Boston was clean AF, but in terms of difficulty, vocab and modulation, BD was robbed the drum trophy this year. And....BC...seriously, wtf??

@@amielorpiano4031 Absolutely! BD's pit was insane. Such a difficult book and clean execution.
