I’m not sure how long I can keep believing that this car is actually in production
I’ve seen more Supras and GTRs on the street than this, I’ve only seen one actually and it happened to be at an auto show
@@Justin_GFMthat's true man. I live in Atlanta and I've seen one. Literally the same one over and over. I see GTRs 911s, Supras, heck even a GR Corolla more often
@@Justin_GFM In Michigan I have yet to see a MK5 Supra. I've seen a spied C8 Z06 however in Grand Rapids months before the Z06 released. I've also seen the Z here in Michigan
i refuse to believe it exists
@@Justin_GFMSame, I've only ever seen one and it was a dealer demo car
As someone who owns a Supra, the Z is definitely a bit of a hard sell in the current market. I agree with Topher in that it should of been priced just a little bit less and it would be a SOLID buy for what you get. Excluding issues with dealerships, Nissan's production line and the MSRP, it's not a *bad* car by any means and if you're blessed enough to be able to afford cars in this price range, you're winning no matter what. I guarantee you Z owner's are smiling every time they get in their car to drive as are the Camaro owners, Super owners and anyone else in the price range.
Enjoy it while we got it boys, they're phasing these cars out soon and in another 5-10 years we'll likely only see EV's for sale and in another 20-30 years we'll look back at cars like these as classics and legends of their time.
It’s depressing for sure, especially with these car companies still using all that coronavirus bullshit as a reason to markup car prices
I’ll drive my ‘22 Miata RF until it blows up or they make gas illegal.
Yep, will run my 18 nismo 370z till she don't run no more
20-30 yrs from now, looking for a gas station would be the challenge to fuel these cars
We aint got the infrastructure for “ev only” type shit, but i hear you. Well said about the price range as well. Ima big nissan head but i love all the cars you named in the segment. The Z is a future classic that might fail, which is sad but most consumers nowadays dont like Nissan anymore. I love the car personally.
Good luck finding one of these for $52,000. They’re more like $70k to $90k after the insane markups
Exactly, that’s what I’ve been seeing at every dealer that has one. It’s absurd.
I hope they can eat cars!
um... no theyre not lol
"Nissan" say they frown upon the dealership mark-ups. Really? Not feeling it.
70k for the Z .Tell the dealer keep the car
“Babe wake up, there’s a new Topher video.”
I see this Nissan Z in person and it's really looking beautiful 👌
I love how the vents are on the doors I just think that looks super cool.
It’s a great street car. The only time I saw one though was at a C&C and it was one of the best looking cars there imo. But it’s still hilarious to me how everyone hyped this up to “show Toyota how it’s done” and it’s done nothing but fall short. Stop sales before production, paint issues etc. If the GR Supra launched in this state, we wouldn’t have heard the end of it. I wouldn’t mind a base model but I’ve seen them all marked up to 50k.
It was priced cheaper for the v6 and had a manual, if the Supra didn’t drop with the manual right after it would still hold true
We couldnt avoid hearing about how bad the new "BMW Supra" was. Pretty much everyone who owned the 3.0 loved it, how bulletproof the engine is (people make 500whp stock on the factory powertrain), its fuel economy can be in the 30s during commuter conditions, ect. The only complaint I can find is visibility (you get that in many sporty hatchbacks) and lack of manual in the first launch. Yes, the new 5.0 is around the same price and arguably a better car, but I just love the design
@@uww.vnot really as you need the performance package to get the basics and that jacks up the price on this ancient relic they resurrected
BMW not Toyota
In Florida can't find one close to MSRP. The last one I went to check was marked up to $69,495.
Good job Nissan, the limited production run of 3 cars a year will keep the values high. I heard there was a sighting of a yellow one in Canada...
Spotted a yellow one in Fremont CA :)
Well - All 600 Corporations apart of the WEF are colluding to induce artificial scarcity in order to increase marginal costs beyond rates of inflation.
It’s almost like they know there will be less buyers around eventually
I think I saw a golden one in Ontario. What a rare sight.
I think the car is beautiful, but I agree with the general consensus that it’s a little overpriced. This would’ve slotted nicely for a buyer who wanted something a little more powerful, bigger then a BRZ/GR86 but not as expensive as a Supra, M2, Camaro Etc. It should’ve been a $43,000-45,000. Then if a Nismo version where to come out price that at $55,000-65,000
Bro, I live in Israel, and this car priced here around 120k$, so what are you talking about?
If i could buy this car at least for 70k it would be great!
He's talking in us dollars @@sriizer104
Seeing makes me believe a Q60 400RS with a manual would’ve been such an amazing car. Just like the G35/37 coupes used to be the siblings of the 350/370 and had such a huge following. Its really what kept infiniti relevant tbh. Having the ability to make the Q60 a proper enthusiast sports car and just tossing that opportunity out the window is sad. I miss the old G coupes. Perfect for those who wanted Z performance but just needed a little bit more practicality. I miss mine :(
Agreed. The G coupes looked really classy. A great car for people that wanted to enjoy a sporty car but keep a more mature appearance.
I have a 2015 Q60 (last Gen G37 Coupe) Limited Sport 6 spd manual. I’m wanting to trade it in for this New Z. A ton of parts my car has that this new Z has including brakes, upgraded OEM Suspension, etc… I love it and I daily it to work everyday. About to hit 93K miles and it’s Full Exhaust, Ecutek tuned making 322whp on mustang dyno. In a perfect world, I’d love to keep it. But it doesn’t make much sense for a 21 yr old who’s planning for a wedding to have a New Z and my current Q60 at my apartment lol
G coupes were heavy and handled like pure garbage. Made for ppl that “oo i want sporty car” not much else
U mean like a 300zx 2+2? 😅
Finally bought one in boulder gray at 55k and thats after 2 days of cursing and arguing with the dealer, got offers around eastern US states for as high as 68k, thats why no one sees these on the streets
Oh wow out of all of the people who have driven this Z on youtube you are the only one ever shown the electric seat part of the Z thank you.
As a resident of Michigan my entire 55 years, it's truly embarrassing the condition of many of the roads here. Awesome review though and love the new Z.
What a great video, spoken well and yes, what a great video. Looking forward to getting my Z soon!
I think you've been spoiled by how good the type R's shifter is. That's why everything else feels too clunky. 😂
Tedward and Topher uploading at the same time again (almost)
They back to back on my subs list😂😂😂
and the thumbnails match up lmao
I kept thinking they were the same guys 😆
I loved this car, almost ordered one and wouldve bought a perf one blind with 5k markup on a lot...3yrs ago.
Thank goodness time and testing prevailed, because I definitely wont continue with newer Nissan/Infiniti. RIP old JDM.
Love the looks. As a 240 fanboi since childhood, not much to be said about the exterior. I drove all previous incarnations and never found it to be my match, except for the hatch.
Cost is way higher compared to the old Z. I’ll get a Supra over this.
I haven't seen a highway this empty since the start of covid.
I’m really impressed with Nissan when it comes to this car. I saw one in a parking lot the other day. I’ll never be able to afford it but kudos to Nissan for reimagining a classic design
THANK YOU TO THE CAR MAKERS STILL OFFERING MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS AND GAS POWERED MOTORS🤲🏿🖤💙🖤🤲🏿💯
Amen to that!
People are so thankful for manual transmission cars but the sales stats shows that no one buys any of those, which is the main reason why we see less manual cars over the years
Nissan Z/400z Nismo has entered the chat 😅😅😂😂
I'm way more amazed by the tons of road infrastructures and lanes you got for an area that seems almost empty even comparing to my french medieval village that's always so busy with hundred of semi trucks and thousand of cars all day every day. It feel like old NFS Underground games with those huge playground and nobody in the streets
52k seems a bit much for a carryover platform.
It's a carryover platform that they slapped an Infiniti powertrain in
Everything now is cross-developed, based on a sedan, or is a carryover platform until you get to Cayman/C8 money. It’s pathetic.
@@TT92348cayman is a shared architecture *cough*
Get a 2SS Camaro at that cost
Last of the gas vehicles right now. We are coming to the end of a golden age. EVs will be taking over the whole market.
I didn't realize the Z had an exedy clutch from factory, i have one in my 2003 Celica and it feels great, amazing video Topher, been looking forward to this one😁💯
it’s part of the performance package
I was so excited when I first heard about the new Z. Twin turbo 6 cyl, 6speed, 40k....I was SOLD. Then it came out, and I was disappointed. Too much money for those performance stats and needed upgrades for track duty. Based on all of the rave reviews and price, I decided on the 6M Camaro SS 1LE and couldn't be happier. The car is an animal and I love taking people for rides and letting others drive it to see their reactions.....priceless memories with a sports car bargain. Thanks for the honest reviews
However I do understand because of the availability
Imagine when these get into depreciation levels
I remember when 240z's were like 5k for mechanically sound examples not all that long ago
I’m an 86 driver and this is something that I would love too
Add a nice tune or even a JB4 boost controller with 2-3-4 pounds more boost and it would be a lot of fun with no worries about warranty....for the most part. Both did wonders on my RS400
An underrated car, The price is pretty steep, that’s pony car territory. Great vid man.
It is growing on me, and god those tail lights are so cool
I will be buying this exact style car in either the 2023 or 2024 model in 2 years.
I like that interior
That rpm gauge makes it seem like you should always be above 3k, looks like fun.
Tyre noise in the US highways is always there, it´s because those roads are made of concrete instead of asphalt like in Eurpe.
i’m thing i keep getting confused about, are there two tophers? And this was a great video as always
I live in LA, and you would think to see quite a few of these. I’ve never seen one on the streets.
waiting for the Manual Nismo Z to come out, but still happy they had it come with manual for the performance.
Seen black one the other day in Tempe, AZ
I’m 20 and I just got a 350z as my first car. Looking to get one of these in the future.
baby gtr lookin fresh
It’s Jan 2024 and local dealers (Orange County, CA) getting delivery’s around the 29th - though only on avg 1 Performance and 2 Nismos each. Pathetic. At an average of $55K for the Performance, it’s about $5K more then I want to spend. I would like to see: flat bottom steering wheel, power folding mirrors, vented seats, option for no Bose subwoofer for hopefully more storage, and drop the price.
Wow!
You really put this Nissan Z to the test. Great driving and video. Just purchased my 2024 performance. I rather watch you driving yours and save mine 😅
Bought mine a month ago. Still breaking it in. I've been a good boy and resisted driving it like this. Haven't even redlined it yet. I'm about ready to get after it a little bit, but I won't beat on it like I would have when I was 20. 😂
SEEEEEESH It's like I have to wait until these mark ups fall off
I’ve never seen this car on the road. Did they mass produce these?
I see 2 of these in Mass already. One in this grey color and one in blue color.
The interior and exterior styling is on point. However, it really seems as though these cars have leaned more towards touring than sportiness over the past decade, and this new model really, really shows that.
The 370z had brake cooling issues on the track in a variety of tests when it launched. I wonder how this one will do? Regardless, it seems like a lot of effort is needed to get this car to go around a track reasonably quick compared to its competition.
Which is a real shame because if you want a sports coupe with a liftback, you don't have many options in today's world.
What’s the difference between sporting and touring
@@aliamezcua9585 Primarily comfort. This new Z is fantastic if all you're going to do is cruise around town and down the highway. The suspension design, despite having a front double wishbone, leans more towards comfort. Under heavy braking and cornering, the car has heavy body roll. The car being heavy means you'll really, really feel it.
Overall, if you compare lap times for the new Z to the GR86, you'll find that it's not significantly faster around most circuits despite having nearly double the horsepower. The new Z is kind of a boat.
It's a fantastic choice if you want an alternative to a Mustang, but it's not nearly as capable as the Supra for performance driving. This ultimately comes down to the fact that Toyota and BMW came together to create a very good car at a very good price, whereas Nissan is working entirely on its own for the new Z.
Regardless, the new Z has a certain amount of character to it that the Supra lacks. I'd also argue that it has a bit more charm than a Mustang. If you scrunch numbers to find the most optimal way to spend a dollar, the new Z isn't it. But, if you want something that feels a bit more like an old car, the new Z is it.
@@rusher38 love my brz
@@rusher38 I doubt if 90% of buyers want a track oriented car. Most people in this market need a good looking, fast enough sports car that's also comfortable as a daily driver, not a butt ugly track machine like the supra.
@@sunilayya8948 supras better in every way
This, is what i want...
Unfortunately, i need a back seat. So, i went with the new type r. I just need something fun to race from work everyday. 😅
Done with the Z hype, difficult to find and dealership markup. Keeping my 370Z; owned for 9 years and not one maintenance or performance issue!
It’s beautiful
Its Januray 4 2024 and i have yet to see one of these on the road.
Saw one last night whiles I was in my gr corolla
You put it perfectly, the price and ADM on top of that, puts the Z in a terrible price point.
For a bit more you get the Supra which is just an amazing car and now even in manual. On the other hand you have the brz which is THE driving enthusiasts car imo.
I think it should have been 45k for premium, and depending on what Nismo brings 3-5 k more for that version.
45 is prob more reasonable 5 years ago lol, now not so much
@@Vivek.Clips2024 Should it be even cheaper now?
bought a 2023 brz here in Japan.. was thinking of a Z as well, but rather spend the remaining money on mods for the brz..
Nissan philosophy: "When everything changes, nothing changes!"
I like this spec… it’s understated. Although for around $60k cdn I think I’d rather get a Camaro SS.
nissan the only japanese manufacturer that is really dedicated to the enthusiasts, never been MIA through the years
The new Z really reminds me of a s13 240sx fastback
Good video.
That it came out in the first place is the best about it. Given the money situation they had/have and almost canellation.
What a beautiful car. I own a 2020 miata convertible right now but would love to get a Z when my miata is paid off in 2 year.
miata is really good, this Z is not, if you want thrills just engine swap your miata, believe me, power to weight ratio will allow for greater acceleration that this lackluster 400hp v6
is it just me or do all the electronics sound so.... heavy duty? i kinda love it
$50,000 and you have A LOT of competition here.
Especially if you're willing to look at the used market. A base C7 would likely wipe the floor with this thing and you can pick those up for high $30,000 range now.
The door lock/ window control panel looks identical to the one in the FRS
I like a lot of the Z but the two things I really don’t like are the door handles and how much the interior looks like it was styled for a video game.
I love the new Z but I hope it will be loved by other enthusiast despite of the mark-up and inflation
why do i never saw this car before? he seems underrated
My dream car
Great review. ❤ I just got one. And loving it alil pricy but it has a good platform. Not sure if I would’ve got the supra because the supra is a BMW. Plus the Z collaborates with its heritage, not like to supra.
It should have a targa like the z32 and 2+2 since the gtr and the q60 are discontinued
Great video. What are the lyrics to that track you play in all your videos? All I can decipher is maybe “one…twelve one…..one…twelve one…”
It looks so gooood
i loved the video but it was hard to hear over the crazy wind and road noise lol
Honestly I was excited for this car but not so much anymore. And actually in general of Japanese offerings. I owned 180sx’s among others back in the day. Mabey I’m getting old now I don’t know (35) but I’m more interested and thinking I’m going to wait a year or two and spend my money on the new Ford Mustang dark horse. I think there is more for the money value there now.
How does it compare to integra type-s? I believe they are similarly priced?
That fuel door is massive
This is a force to be reconed with. The ground is here I feel like any tuner with a brain knows exactly what they need to do to creep toward a high 10 low 11 second 1/4 mile. But also if u wanna daily drive it with exhaust that's cool too. Having options and competition is great. I like the look better than Toyota supra. So it's worth the price to me.
It’s hard to sell a GT car with no rear seats in my mind, even if only 2+2. Car looks beautiful though.
I really loved the 370z, and im just not sure how i feel about this car, it looks great from every angle except the front imo, and probably an unpopular opinion but i wish they keep it an na port injected v6.
I wish they'd go back to an inline 6 like the earlier Z's.
the grill looks awful
I agree but the Nizmo they showed I feel like they made it look better imo🙏🏽
The new Nissan fs a drivers car
agree completely, the front end ruins the car
I have a g37 and looking to upgrade, but man my 2015 has memory seats, fully electric seat adjusters with boulster adjustment, electronic wheel adjustment. Idk why they couldn’t include it as as standard here.
Yes its a nissan and a grade under infinity in the “luxury” segment, but its 10 years newer lol
i wish the red interior was a shade or two darker red. more burgundy. would have been so much better.
One day 🙏
I think i have only seen one in person... and i sm not sure if i am making it up in my head
Do you think it's worth buying this or twin turbo my 370z?
The birds at 13:28 almost weren't fast enough!
2023 Nissan Z Performance - A true beast on the road! 🔥🚀
What color is this again? Gun Metallic or Gray Pearl? He just mentioned Gray? Hard to compare to the colors on the nissan website.
It looks like a toys 😊😊😊
idk why but i prefer this design over the 86 gt or even a new supra.
I still haven’t seen one in the wild. Are they not selling? Or do we not have enough money for these car prices anymore?
I find it dumb people want automatic sports cars manual is the way to go when driving a sports car. Going through the gears and having more control over the car is much better than just putting it in drive. If I get a sports car it will be stick shift no way in hell I am buying an automatic sports car . Good review of this manual Nissan Z.
Cool story bro
It’s not dumb considering it’s more comfortable and not to mention faster. Let people drive what they want.
So far ive only seen one in my state and it was in another town for 55k at the dealership💀
I have yet to see one of these on the road, and I live in the most densely populated state in the country
Jersey? If so I haven't seen one here either..
@@joetroyner Yes Sir, Middlesex County

Great to see that Japan can still build a twin turbo sports car.
400 hp from twin turbo is laughable
Surprised you didn't mention the katana blades above the doors...
As a former Z owner, ill take my WRX all day.
I want this car.
Needs an exhaust to mask that road noise.
Not mentioning the mustang for other cars in that price range is crazyyyy
