Sterling had flashes of brilliance unlike any other contestant, marking his potential much higher than all of them. He sadly just couldn’t bring the consistency fast enough to stay in the game, but I’d hire him any day.
I'm pretty sure hes working at a hospital were his mother//another family member died which is pretty heartwarming

Sterling was a good cook yeah not consistent with some dishes but overall good plus he was able to lead his team and like boost their moral like all the time
I think after this season Gordan offered him a job at one of his restaurants and Sterling declined to work at the hospital
Lol sorry but he definitely didn’t have more potential than all of them. He was a good line cook, but that is way different than being a chef in a high level kitchen. He lacked a lot of finesse and made up for it with his hustle.

He cooks for a hospital kitchen because his mother figure had a heart operation there. States he’s not there for the paycheck. A real great man.

The fact that Sterling asked to keep trying on his station, and when he messed up the second time allowed them to put him on another station, says MEASURES about him as a person. He has pride in himself, he EXPECTS himself to put out perfect dishes, and yet he’s humble enough to realize he isn’t performing perfectly and recognizes that after 2 mistakes he should be put on another station. I swear, EVERY video I watch that has Sterling in it just increases my respect for the man. This is THE. model of a good human being. And knowing that he rejected an offer to work in one of Chef Ramsay’s restaurants in favor of cooking in the hospital that treated his mother and sister, I could not respect or love this man any more. No wonder he got to keep his jacket when he was eliminated. Gordon saw his passion, his pride as a chef, and respected him for that. I hope Sterling knows how many people love, cherish, and value him because he truly deserves it.

I've worked in kitchens for a handful of years - never saw anyone actually count the beats. Usually there's music playing or something to help keep track of moment-to-moment time... maybe more cooks and chefs should encourage just ol' fashioned verbal count, or have a nice big clock on the wall with a second hand.
