In fairness, the recruits had a 4 mile run and a marksmanship test to do immediately after. Gordon only did the tunnels part of the course.

I've tried this course when I first joined at 25, and basically got the same time as Gordon. Shows how fit he stays when a 40ish year old dude can do 30 mins

I did my basic training at 25 too. I've never done this course but I've done a couple of the same sort of thing. What he did was admirable, especially at his age. He talks the talk, then he walks the walk.

I love how Gordon can change so quickly. In the endurance training he knew his place and was willing to submit to their demands, but when food and a grill is placed in front of him he becomes the Sargent.

Weird thing to mention but on sky F1 they have a show called the notebook and a former marine is the camera man. For about a year I believed it was a team of people carrying all the gear but once they switched camera and showed the 200 lbs former marine who was moving a unit of a camera and soundpack.

Dude is over 50 and has never trained this type of endurance (what I mean is that this is vastly different to a triathlon) and manages to complete first try and not even last. Dude is a beast.

@@dadistos4538 My point still remains. If you are fit enough to run multiple marathons you are more likely to be able to complete this Vs someone with no training. I know the course well mate and know how hard it is.

Honestly seeing Gordon do the exact same course as the marines gave me more respect to him. He's what you call a proper chef. Hell even though he's one of the best chefs in the world he would still become the student to another chef (When he cooked for Thai Royalty)
Fairplay to him, there aren’t many people who could even complete that course if their life depended on it. Marines are astonishingly fit.
