    I ran into this because some days I binge your videos. I ended up seeing this. I have 3 cats. One is long haired. I used all the washer and dryer products. They did nothing.
    So I bought this and it just came in. I had a black t-shirt that was medium hairy. It worked really well. Enough to be ok wearing it out.
    Then I did an area of my couch. Wow! All the dust came off. I am so glad you do these reviews. I know what to buy. And this a 100.
    Keep them coming.

    This is basically what people used before sticky rollers. (The sleeve is new though.) Back in the late 90's, I found a reusable sticky roller that once "used up", you'd just rinse it and let it dry and it'd be sticky again. Loved it.

    One thing I noticed is that on the actual "As Seen on TV" they only go over the garment area once and You and Vivian on "Seccret Life of Vivian" have to go over the garment area several times to get it cleaned. I will be staying with the Dollar Tree one, Works just fine. Thank you for sharing.

      i disagree, i work in the animal industry and these lint rollers are only good for lint, not animal hair, as you can see by this review its a lot harder, time consuming and isn't close to 100% removal. I found a great ergonomic roller which is far superior to this lint roller.

      This definitely does not work better than the sticky rollers, some of them are garbage, but if you find a good brand they get animal hair off clothes far better, and far faster than this does.

    I remember, when I was like 10 years old, my Mom had a brush EXACTLY like this. That was FORTY YEARS AGO. It wasn't a “pet” brush, it was a lint brush she used before she went to work. 40 years later, here's a review for the same brush, and when I mean the same, I mean it looks EXACTLY like the one my Mom had in 1973. Amazing. Oh, one last thing, there was no “container” to clean it, you just cleaned it with your hands.

    Thanks for the careful and thoughtful review! We have two goldens and their hair is everywhere. We will definitely be adding this to our cleaning tools. (PS: the Dyson V11 is super expensive but it works great vacuum for pet hair. It is the only one I've found where the roller brush does not clog up with hair)

    I picked up one of these and found that it works as well as other lint brushes that are similar in design. The difference is, the Fur Wizard's cleaning base makes it much easier to clean off the brush then other models that do nit have this feature.

    I remember using this type back in the 70’s and well into the 80’s. They were red. Every one of them. I got so much gratification from rubbing my thumb the opposite direction to clean it off. Been OCD ever since. Seriously 😐
    Now being an OCD adult I can’t bring myself to use this type because the dander and dust mites are still present on the object and the device 🙁
    I know, insert eye roll where ever necessary. Having OCD is truly exhausting.
    I appreciate and absolutely Love your reviews!! You’re not quite as cute as Bailey, but close 😉

    These fur brushes have been around and I've been using one as long as I've had cats. The difference here is the holder that pulls off the hair from the brush, which is truly awesome. I bought a knockoff based on your review, I really like it, I'll probably buy another one at some point (it looks like the actual fur wizard might be built a bit better, though I think you're supposed to be able to take it apart to clean the inside surfaces)

    got a red lint brush from the Dollar Tree works just as good....only thing is it doesn't come with that base to remove the fur......i just run my hand across the brush in the smooth direction, and the fur just rolls up on the edge then falls off.....the gimmick of the Fur Wizard is the base itself

      To me, the selling point is how you can clean off the brush wile using it without getting dog hair all over yourself or having it float in the air with static electricity, etc. A lint brush isn’t being reinvented here. It’s being cleverly supplemented with a handy way to clean it off while using it.

    We have 4 cats and a lint brush in every room. I purchased this for my son for Christmas and was so impressed by it that I purchased 2 more, one for myself & one for hubby. Then I purchased 3 more.....two for 2 sisters who have pets and a spare for me. I assume as with all other lint brushes, the material on the brush &/or inside the base will eventually get worn out, hence becoming less effective. I just love how sturdy both the base & brush feel. Also like being able to stand the base up with the brush in it -vs- having a lint brush just laying around. Even when I’ve removed fur from the brush using my fingers, it comes off so much better than any other lint brush I’ve ever owned. I highly recommend this product!! A bit harder to find these days, but as of March 2020 Bed Bath and Beyond still has them(online only) for $9.99 ea(orig $19.99). You can also use coupons dropping the price even further. There are no brand and off brands out there. I did purchase a grey + white one on eBay for my son and it feels and works just as well as the FurWizard brand.

  • @cathym45
    @cathym45 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Omg, this is almost exactly the same as one I purchased probably about 25 years ago. The one I have is oval, about the size of a large hairbrush. It had a handle that you could push thru from one end to the other to suit whatever you were cleaning. It was red tho and rubbing it one way was coarser and the other way was velvety. You have to clean it with ur hand tho by rubbing towards the velvety side. Lol, the hurricane one is a totally updated version of mine.

    I'm really happy seeing this. I saw the Fur Wizard at Walmart and wanted to see someone actually use it before I dropped $20 on something that may not have even worked. I am someone who has a lot of black clothes, a dark work uniform, and a light-colored Siamese calico cat. My roomie has a white Shih Tzu on top of it with navy blue work uniforms so something like that would be invaluable to both of us.
    I've used other lint brushes that sell for a lot cheaper of course and, while they work well, I don't like the fact that there isn't a better way of cleaning them without putting some of what you took off back into the air and possibly back on you. Lint rollers are great too, but create a lot of unnecessary waste and we're trying to cut down on that. That's probably why this product caught my attention with the way it cleans. It doesn't have to be 100% clean, but enough to make a sizable difference. If I wanted it 100%, I'd have to get rid of my pets and there is no way that I'm doing that.
    I think I'll be getting this when I hit Walmart next. Thank you for the video!

    New subscriber here !!! Thanks for the review !!!! Now I know I can buy this. As a pet groomer for 27 years I would suggest for someone with pets that are known to Shed alot to màybe Shave them down very short. You can always make a DIY sweater for them by cutting an old sweatshirt or sweater , You can make all different sizes by using the sleeve for the little dog and the whole middle for the bigger dogs. You can find these DIY how to do all over TH-cam. If it is too costly to groom, invest in a $8 " RAKE " it's called. It is a grooming tool that you can find at any pet shop. This will take out all of that UNDERCOAT on your Retriever with EASE !!!! THANKS 😇🐕

    • @Xabaya
      @Xabaya 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do NOT shave pets. Especially double coated breeds. It does not stop shedding (the fur will just be shorter and get embedded in textiles) and in addition, you permanently ruin their coats. It can grow back poorly, be more susceptible to matting or less able to fight off the elements. In addition, you expose your dog to the elements, such as the cold, or the sun. Shaved dogs are WAY more prone to skin cancer if they are out in the sun.

    Thanks Guy for the review. We have 2 dogs, and our border collie sheds the worst. Every night I fix my sheets and have used the sticky rollers, latex gloves, and even a damp rag to remove the pet hair. Even tho they only lay on top of bedspread their hair still finds it's way somehow under the spread, the blanket, and in between the sheets. I have really sensitive skin, and can't handle anything on the sheets, especially pet hair. I'm convinced that it will do the job. Thanks again for making this video. Oh..Thank-you Bailey for being such a good sport, and helping your Dad. P.S. My Border Collie / Flat Coated Retriever Mix male named Shylo would absolutely LOVE Miss Bailey. xoxox LOL

      @jennab313 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Curious to know if you've ever tried using RUBBER (dishwashing) gloves instead of latex gloves? Latex isn't good with static electricity but since rubber doesn't conduct (static) electricity, you can rub anywhere there's animal fur and the fur will follow where you rub (unlike latex gloves). I've got Border Collies and FCR's too and they shed a TON but I've had such great success with rubber gloves - esp. on my many fleece jackets (and that's no small feat!!!)

    Used to just be called the Fur WIzard, but didn't sell, so they rebranded it. It's a lint brush. It looks exactly like every other lint brush I have ever seen. I'm glad it works, but the only part that interests me is the thing that cleans it off.

    • @Freakinreviews
      @Freakinreviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey you are correct about that! And you'll probably also remember that the original Fur Wizard was red.

  • @GrammyJo
    @GrammyJo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's a red 'lint brush' that I've had for MANY years (I think about it often since I have a cat but forgot where I put it. NOT the cat... the lint brush!). It's basically the same as this product but doesn't have the sleeve to remove the trapped hair. But all you have to do with it is to wipe with the 'grain' of the brush on something and the fur wipes off. Having said that I really like the sleeve with this product because it traps most of the hair inside until emptied. For that reason I'm seriously thinking about purchasing this product. I use sticky tape lint rollers like crazy and in the long run this would be much cheaper. Oh and Baily is just a cutie pie!

      I have two dogs I take everywhere with me in my car, and I do know what you mean about dog hair ALL over the backseat. I got a cover made for dogs for the backseat that you place over the backseat, it is made of microfiber and hooks over the headrests, you can also pull the seat belts through the slots in the seat-cover (I have the seatbelt clicked into place and tether my dogs with a short leash to it). It is machine washable in case your dog gets sick or is really muddy, etc. You either pull it off or brush it off with this product in this video.
      I have used something like this brush but it didn't have the case you inserted it into to remove the lint and dog hair off, I like that better than trying to get off the lint by going in the opposite direction (that is why there is an arrow on the brush).

    • @susanbissell9550
      @susanbissell9550 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The brush I used worked like this one but it didn't a case to insert it into you had to remove the lint and hair by going in reverse. I meant I like this new brush in which you insert the brush to get the hair, lint off.

    • @barbarad.517

      I do have one of those covers Susan mentioned but it is kind of a pain to take in and out when I trade dogs for kids. I've used the sticky lint brushes and they are ok but not great and even vacuuming doesn't get all the hair, so I was just curious if this device was any better. I love my dogs so it just may be a fact of life....you live with hairy beasts, you get hairy seats! 🐶

    I was given this as a Birthday gift in December. I’ve tried it a few times on bedding, blankets, clothing so far. I have to say, I’m not impressed. Especially on the clothing. NYE came around went to put on my best black outfit and BAM! It’s like my dog someone opened my closet and rolled his white body all over it. I spent about 10 mins using this to TRY to get it off. While it took off sum, it did not take off all of it or enough to make me feel comfortable warring it out. I’ve yet to try it in my car, I hope it works better in there.

    Well my 20 year old lint brushes work as well if not better and they are just as easy to clean by rubbing them backwards. Thank you for the very good review.

    Works pretty well . maybe for the jacket it might work better if jacket is take off cause of the wrinkles and creases. I really like the cleaning compartment it works well. BTW Bailey is adorable. Thank you for video review.

    In the 1970's there was a product called The Miracle Brush which worked via a similar method, but was cleaned by simply wiping the brush in the opposite direction on some other fabric surface,I.e, it had no cleaning box . Sadly perhaps, I may still have one in a dresser somewhere.

    Good review. OXO also makes a brush like this that holds up a little better. We have 3 cats and 4 dogs...house is a hairball that needs constant cleaning. I think these type brushes work better on cat hair which is softer and finer than the coarse hair of a dog.

    Just bought it from Harmon Drugs, but I wanted to read online reviews 1st. I can see this as an adjunct product to remove the cat hair from 5 cats. You can see in the video that It depends on how in-bedded the fur gets into the fabric & what fabric. And the collection he showed was small. If all the cats were just on denim there wouldn't be too much of a problem. It's their cat beds & knit fabric that is harder. ESpecially the artificial sheep's fur beds. They love them, but they are hard to de-fur.
    Pledge had made a similar product as this and you can see inside the collection area to see how much is being collected. I always managed to empty it.
    Here's a few tips: #1 If you have disposable nitrile gloves, put one on your hand & rub it back & forth over the fabric. The fur will ball up & can easily be vacuumed or picked up. It does create a little heat. #2 Take a sticky roller sheet off the roller. Then take that sheet & press it onto the fabric. Lift it & repeat until there is no more stickiness. There is always leave a little edge not used when you roll it And, pressing the sheet against the fabric helps to get the fur that is in-bedded in different directions in the fabric. #3 Vacuum using your crevice tool.

      Great info, thank you. And you're right that deeply embedded hairs will be more difficult to remove. Great comment.

    It's a good concept but can't help thinking would be good if they included a tool to clean the inside of the cleaner as the grime is going to build up with the interier being made of the same material I feel.

    I was thinking about buying one of these, thanks for the video to test it. I have a German Shepherd and as all you Shepherd owners know, they shed 24/7! Seems to work pretty well, seems to be made quite sturdily. I hate buying things that fall apart after a very short time, you know what I mean? I have a leather sofa and oveseat, so that's no problem, but the carpet? UH!

    I just bought this for lint. It’s...okay. Reminds me of the dollar lint brushes, doesn’t pick up a lot. Like you said, it’s the base that’s special. Scotch brand lint brush has much longer bristles/fibers, giving a much better clean - if a bit harder on clothing. On my arm, I can definitely feel the difference between the Fur Wizard, Scotch, and a boar bristle lint brush (an actual brush!) - the Fur Wizard is definitely the weakest. If you want the gentleness, go right ahead. As it is, I’m not sure it’s worth $19.99. I’m considering returning it and buying a couple more Scotch brushes for other rooms of the house. Those things are only $5 a pop and work better.
