    🟥 DISCLAIMER: I make these videos to share my own personal methods and techniques for how I make cold process soap. These videos are not intended as tutorials for beginners. The content I create is meant for those who already have an understanding of cold process soap making. Cold process soapmaking involves working with sodium hydroxide (NaOH, also referred to as lye). Lye and raw soap can permanently damage your eyes and burn your skin. When making soap, you should already know and practice lye safe handling procedures and always wear protective gear during the entire soapmaking process, even while cleaning up. I hope you find watching my videos helpful or entertaining. Hi! I hope you’re doing well! I can’t believe it’s already the middle of August. I meant to have this video posted in July but time just got away with me.
    I have a question about using honey in soaps - how much do you like to use? I used 1 tsp PPO (per pound of oils) in this soap, but in the past, I've always used 2 tsp PPO.
    Thanks so much for watching! -Holly :)

      I use same...
      Just finished making oats and honey soap...
      I think I even used less this time...
      About a teaspoon less ...
      Frankly, I don't like going over for honey.
      Love your works.

      Hi! I like using a full Tablespoon PPO of honey. I don’t usually have any problems with over heating. And I soap with 35% tallow.
      I really enjoy watching your videos! You are such a good soap maker!

    Lovely soap as always! I have used honey at 6% of the oil batch weight in the past without any issues, I soaped cool and the cured bar lathered beautifully. I used a loaf mould but one can go for cavity moulds as well to avoid heating.

    Hello Holly. I love watching your videos. Thank you! I have one question: if I want to make this recipe but not using Avocado Oil, what would you recommend instead?

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! I would probably just increase my olive oil to make up for the avocado. They have a similar fatty acid profile (so does rice bran oil). I might also just increase the olive oil a little (maybe set it at 40%) and then spread the rest across the other oils and butters. Hope this helps!

    Hi, what is the benefit of the honey?

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to use it because the sugar content in the honey helps boost the lather a bit. When I use a bit more (more than I used in this soap), it can also impart kind of a light, warm scent to the soap which is nice depending on the fragrance you're using.
