Hello Jaro! Nice Video! I have this machine in my cafe. I am playing around dialing in my espresso but I was wondering whats the range that you play with and what would you try for a darker roast?

Hi Eddy, thanks! That's very nice, I love this grinder. The range is quite wide, some coffees at around 1 and some around 2. Darker roast tend to taste better with shorter ratios and tighter grind size.

@@Jaroslav. Maybe my super jolly is different. I tried setting 2 and it took so long to extract the coffee

Have you recalibrated the zero point? It doesn’t really matter anyways, my setting will be different from yours. I’ve also put a different set of burrs into mine, so my where I’ve set mine won’t help you much. But generally, from the zero point 1-3 is your range.

Very curious. How is your taste difference between the mini and jolly. Doubting between them.

Both spin at 1400rpm, so if you’d put the same burr set in both they’ll taste the same. The difference between Mini’s stock 189D and SJ’s 233M burrs is massive. You could get the Mini and put the 233M in it for more or less the same tasting result as SJ V Pro. I had 233M in my Mini A, it was great.

@@Jaroslav. There is something with the brand, and the design i love. but comparing those mazzers to the eureka's they feel so slow and old-school. Still torn up on a decission. Currently have a eureka specialita. but it tastes a bit unbalanced and boring.

To be honest, there isn’t a single Eureka grinder I’d ever choose over a Mazzer. I’d say grind speed isn’t everything, but I think 18g in 7s is fast enough.

@@Jaroslav. mazzer mini with ssp 7s seriously? i always thought its more 13 - 22s

My Mini B grinds 18g in about 10s with SSP HUs, and the Mini A grinds 18g in about 7-8s with the 233M burrs. I've made shorts about this too, have a look.
