Emma wins this one. Her pump install was flawless and it was obvious she had it covered. Also, masterful dingy handling getting out of the dingy sardine can at the dock. I have no doubt the women have this all in hand. Teal I hope you are healing up well.

Excellent episode! A blessing in disguise that the girls get to learn and to things that Teal normally... 'enjoys' all to himself.

It is a good thing for Emma to learn all of these maintenance things and I taught this stuff to my daughter when she was growing up. When teaching her, I preferred to walk through the entire process, provide the tools and then leaver her to her own solution. I would be nearby so that if she could not figure out something, I could provide advice. When I was right there, she would rely on me to tell her every movement and did not really think about how to do the job. In this way, she was able to figure out how to work through the problem to complete the task.
Now that she is married, she lets me know what projects she is planning and I always know what to get her for birthdays and Christmas. POWER TOOLS!

Too bad that Teal's elbow is messed up, but this is a great opportunity for Emma to get more hands on experience with everything required to keep the boat shipshape. Linh and Emma will take good care of you and the vessel (and you) on the voyage over to the mainland!

When I was young, I came to realize that our muscles are stronger than our tendons. So I never pushed my muscles harder than what I felt was their limits, cause I felt that I could hurt my tendons and did not want to find out what were their limits, cause you get no warning folks. That never stop me from working hard, but there are moments sometimes, out of excitement, like 'fishing' where we just go passed that limit.

I propose the girls have official titles considering their required duties...
    So carry on:
    Chief Officer: Linh...and

    Deck Cadet: Compass...
    Great job crew!
Til next time, see ya then...

Good job ladies, for taking care of the old man. Teal wishing you a fast recovery, I know this is hard for you, cause you are always a busy person. And Emma is becoming a great boaty. Give Capt. Compass a hug and a boop on the nose from me. I just pulled into Avalon myself, and will spend the weekend, and then sail back to San Diego.

I crushed my knuckles once and had to give instructive coaching for others to do my 'hand-eye' coordinated tasks. I got soooooo frustrated always trying to find the best adjectives and nouns to articulate what I knew to be optimized verbal assistance. So tiring, by mid-day my brain had steam rising from the the spout.
Others didn't realize how frustrating it is to conjure the words to assist my confused helpers. So much verbal effort - with my own hands and I'd be done in seconds. I knew I wasn't going to win there, so...,
key is to prioritize healing; immobilize for sure, but also remember optimize circulation to get as much nutrients to the wound site. Radiant heat, moist heat, massage (get one of those massagers). Take a anti-inflam like motrin because inflammation is part of the triad of inflammation>swelling>pain. They each cause each other and break that triad and the body heals much more quicklier !!
But I disagree with the Doc. Rehab!! After the triad is reduced, continue to increase circulation, then add very gentle low demand motion to the muscles. Let muscles rehab with gentle function, because sports studies indicate motion with care will stimulate the body to rebuild the area for future, more athletic demands, rather than laying down unneeded scar tissue (scar tissue deposits just wind-up reducing function in the long term). That's sports medicine rehab !!

I started watching your channel a couple of months ago, and now have binged up to the current episode. I really do love watching, I relate to Teal and how he approaches tasks and projects. Being a project manager / engineer I suppose makes that easy connection. But I do really enjoy Linh's amazing cooking and sense of humor, and also her willingness to tackle any task when needed. And Emma is such a wonderful young lady, I do like her explaining how this lifestyle impacts her.

A few years ago, we sailed from Mazatlan to PV through the Isla Isabella on a friend's yacht.
We dropped the hook and took the dingy in to a beautiful lagoon.
The beach was strewn with 3'-4' fish carcasses. Pew... the smell.
Evidently, the Mexican fishermen would come out, catch their fish, clean them on the beach and head off to the mainland.
Beautiful lagoon, 20' visibility. Great snorkeling.
Isla Isabella has one of the largest population of Albatros in the World. Their nests are on top of banana trees (plantains?).
    Absolutely stunning.
We hiked up the side of an extinct volcano ~ 300' up (CAUTION! No OSHA guardrails 🤣 ).
We hiked up the edge of the volcano, and saw baby Blue-Footed Boobies in their nests. They had no fear of we humans.
There's some sort of old fort that we explored.
We had caught a Mahi Mahi, and rafted up next to another yacht.
Homemade linguini with fresh alfredo sauce and fresh Mahi. I made the mistake of taking the sea bands off my wrists.
Ended up hugging the 60' mast in the salon and sucking on a fresh ginger slice under my tongue.
    Great memories.
Hope y'all enjoy those islands as much as we did.
