Hi, been watching your posts from here in the UK, I’m retired now but was a truck driver here in similar countryside and doing a similar job. It’s nice to see the old stuff being worked by a very skilled operator and such a nice young man without the use of foul language. You wouldn’t get away with using that type of equipment over here because vosa (vehicle and operator services agency) would never leave you alone, it’s nice to see how quiet your roads are over there, here in the Uk it is hell on earth. I live in Cornwall which is very rural but very narrow country lanes and quite busy. I still do a little bit now and again either tipper work from quarries or low loader work delivering machinery but not with nice old trucks. Keep up the good work, I love to see it. Thankyou for taking time to make and edit your very interesting videos, regards Ray.
@@raycrocker2844 I appreciate that and I’m glad you enjoy the videos. We’ve got a lot of old equipment that we still use and hope to continue as long as we can.
Great site, thanks so much for uploading all the good content. I love the Autocar- the Cummins sound like no others, just awesome. This beast reminds me so much of Steven Spielberg's epic film "Duel" with Dennis Weaver ! Drawing no parallels here, apart from the truck, of course :-) ! I like the way you are shifting, man :-)
@@lhm4772 of course thanks for watching. You’re not the first to reference the movie “Duel” about this truck. Also there is a movie “maximum overdrive” that has a red AutoCar that looks just like this one.
Beautiful auto car runs great operates great, it always has always will, one thing though I seen, front windshield is cloudy, the tractor deserves better. And gzzz , the driver does to. And it's only $100
I've got the grill guard to fit this truck but it's steel yours looks aluminum. Came of a Auto Car dump that was turned in to a mixer. It had a 290 Cummins 8sp low low
@@AppalachianRust I was watching you shift. The one I drove in 1985 shifted tight just like that. This one had a 350 pump turned up and rpm set at 2600 and 400 injectors. It was peiced together truck
James, in your future videos could you face the in cab camera 📷 more towards the road so I can see the road signs so I can follow your route on google maps, thanks
You have some good skills don’t be hard on yourself ….. but I am better than U but I have not been in or on equipment since I had to go on disability in 2004 because of Multiple Sclerosis I had almost 17 years of Semi Truck driving when no I had to go out on disability retire ment
Love watching these..Cool to see old equipment still earning a living
Shows you how well they were built
That autocar deserve some loving, and some new fancy paint!!

Bulldog Mack and Autocar DC the industry standard
Great looking truck
That's my old Air Force truck!! You will never guess what we hauled with her.
That would be very interesting. I know this truck was part of a bridge crew once.
Cool, keep that old iron running.
I love to see paid for iron still earning a living

Cummins 290 ufffffffff
That fuller road ranger is a little different than that Mack Mud stick 6 spd

I’ll be sure to have some facing head on.
@@AppalachianRust thanks 😊
What is the purpose for blade adjustment on the dozer?
So that it’s not sticking out too wide.
I had to swap it the opposite way to haul it on this trailer
Loading the old school way!
No other way on this low boy.
Did you hear the block break as I climbed up? Haha
@AppalachianRust that's how all the old timers did it around here.
Only experienced hands need to apply there no rookies
Still laughing about when you said that R Mack was a Cadillac riding thing.
Do you feel the difference since you guys turned it up?
Nevermind you answered my question about the 28:49 mark.
Definitely. It was a drag before it’s a whole other animal now.
What year is the Autocar? and Hp
1980. Around 300
Can’t find A car parts anywhere
Someone had mentioned the clouded windshields in this truck. The windshields are a little unique and hard to come by

Ain’t no truck driver! My dad would have beat my ass for using a clutch pedal. Unless I was stopping or taking off at a stoplight .
I’m only a truck driver till I get to the job… then I’m an operator
Lo correcto es usar el embrague
