Having watched multiple police videos in the USA 🇺🇸 on how our black ppl are treated over there, it’s kind of emotional to see you guys excitedly talking about a police stop!
Officer Chris, you have done us proud. This is how Traffic Officers should and I know majority of Traffic Officers are professional and cordial with us in South Africa. No one is in danger of loosing their lives from just a traffic stop. It's unheard of.
The waterfall license department is super efficient, plus they open on Saturday. South African Police are generally friendly and polite, the super-aggressive American style of policing is mostly prevalent in the Western Cape.
The best traffic station that is quick and efficient with no queues is the Gautrain Station in Midrand . Maybe the person who mentioned Waterfall is talking about the same station but just to be exact. There are two in Midrand though.
@@neomontja71 The one I am talking about is at Waterfall Office park. I spent 20 minutes tops on a queue the to renew my license on a Saturday. That 3 step process usually takes at least an hour elsewhere.

Hi guys. I am glad you have that great experience with the police. They served you well, because they are public SERVANTS after all. Continue to enjoy your stay in South Africa 🇿🇦
Oh by the way i just wanna say the car registration certificate is also known as NATIS . If you bought the car cash the dealership registers the car and give you that Registration Certificate. This shows your names on it, that you are the owner. If bought through the bank, the bank sends you a copy of it. You can make a copy thereof or print it and keep it together with the other required documents
With respect to the answer given by thetad1242, that is not quite right. NATIS is simply the administrative system used to administer traffic regulations, licensing, etc. It stands for National Traffic Information System.
Oh yes, my husband is a foreigner who's had his traffic registration for some time until one day he was pulled over and told that the traffic Registration allows you time to use your foreign Lisence (about a year if I'm not mistaken) before being required to arrange a South African drivers license. So please do ask how long the traffic Registration is valid for before you are required to get a local driver's Lisence.
Oh okay, that's good to know. But strangely enough, he had not yet gotten his residency when they asked. He was made to get a local driver's license before getting his residency
He could possibly have been on a residence visa then. It doesn't need to be a permit. Asylum and residence visas(spousal or other family and work visas) also count
Officer Chris danko for serving and protecting......I must say being stopped when I was driving in New Jersey and Joburg was totally opposite experience for me. In New Jersey the trooper was just unnecessarily abbresive in his approach so I always appreciate SA traffic or police officers for ubuntu🙏🏽
Whatever you do, do not go to Marlboro Licensing Department, rather book and go to the one he told you to or the pilot centre in midrand. Marlboro will be a bit too hectic even for some south africans.
Good luck, To do SA licence, coming from outside the country you will still need that traffic reg (it proves your residential address)- then you do the learner's theory after obtaining it, you do the practicals.
@@THEJONESFAMILYCHANNEL the learners theory is a test that you take as a pre-requisite for getting the drivers’ license. You have to pass this test before you can move on to practicals. I think you will use K53 manual that contains all the road rules which you will be tested on. The learners license has an expiry date so if it expires you will have to take another test before you can do practicals. Practical means that will go to the testing station , have instructor in the car with you who will be assessing you. Only when you have passed the practicals you will get your drivers license. You will get a temporary license of which you can drive with while waiting for your card. I hope this helps.
It depends which country you come from. If you come from a country with the same rules as SA traffic, then you don't do the tests. It's to help foreigners learn our road rules. The same applies to South African in other countries.

Kruger is not closer to Limpopo, it actually covers both Limpopo and Mpumalanga, the big chunk of it is actually in Limpopo. The Mpumalanga guys are just good at Marketing. The park is huge (over 300kms long and some parts 65km wide), the headquarters are in Limpopo though, so is the biggest camp. Southern Kruger (mostly Mpumalanga) is more popular though, but a huge chunk is in Limpopo.
@@mrr4031 ya I know, that's why I said the southern part is more popular, but Kruger is about Flora and Fauna, so you can't only focus on the animals.
