    Products provided by Logitech
    Logitech’s G29 and G920 racing wheels are by far the most popular, and most accessible options for wannabe sim racers like me, whether it’s with a console, or a gaming PC, they plug in with one USB cable, and clamp to your desk and away you go. Plus, offer amazing value, with a ‘good enough’ driving feel that generally can’t be bested for less than double the price. So, a successor to these has to be amazing, right? Well, here it is, the G923, and in this video we are going to take a look and see if it is.

    Funny how the only reason I'm here is the MSI debacle - and I believe I'm not the only one. They ended up paying for your work alright! Keep up the good work, integrity was clear right there!

    Love my G920. I have it bolted to a wheelstand pro and I think it's the best affordable setup you can store in your closet easily. The day I can drop a few G's on a fanatec setup with a cockpit I'll probably sell it. And that won't be for a while the way things are.

    seems you have what appears to be a OP 7PRO as your daily driver phone, would you consider doing a long-term use review for that?

    An easy bodge for even load cell pedals if you lack a rig, is to mount them to a piece of 18mm ply and then run a piece of rope from this to the seat pillar or forwards most base leg. AC is great and has decent FFB, but many people on PC with G25, 27, 29/920 use a LUT (look up table, see "LUT generator") to remove the dead feeling centre position and odd brake curve/gamma. The pedals are o.k for what should be a cheap wheel ($200), the gear lash remains an issue if you are used to belt driven TM equivalents.
    If you are on PC, from a speed/consistency POV keep the wheel you have and get a cheap set of load cell pedals like the T-LCM's/CSL + LC.

    Do the gears still grind on the force feedback on this new wheel

    Ive got the same wheel and pedals as you, using on the PC - I got them for around £45 on ebay about 18months ago as a sort of "Let's see what a wheel feels like" toe-dipper. I play F1 and ETS/ATS on them (albeit with adjusting the rotation amount) and have to say I feel I have very little reason to upgrade still, to the extent that I'd say if I were going to upgrade, I'd probably go "All-in" on a top-dog Fanatec setup

    i would definitely recommend a G29/G920 over the G923, the TrueForce feature is just not worth £100 as it doesn't really increase your feeling, the pedals i liked alot more then my T500 (T3PA Pro) back when i had those.
    you might need to get yourself a rig mate :D definitely worth it

      @@CraigSetupShop i think its just better to wait till the prices go down. Right now g923 is for 270 pound but when i goes down to 240 then i think its worth it over g920 because its got less resistance so better for drift. At lest in my opinion seeing as im into drifting. And aparantly the g923 also has no centre deadzone

    For me, the way I find it is, Thrustmaster make better wheels, Logitech make better pedals. Still, I'm saving for a Fanatec which I should get at some point this year.

    • @SRS13Rastus
      @SRS13Rastus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      T3PA pedals have the conical brake mod and internally they're almost identical to the G series sets that Logitech has used for 14 years or more.
      Or you could look at the more expensive Loadcell set the TLCM both provide much better feeling to the brakes and can be adjusted to your taste. These use Hall Effect sensors (Magnetic field intansity sensors) rather than potentiometers linked by mechanical gears and practically eliminate the issues caused by dust ingress borking the pedal inputs which I've had with ALL Logitech pedals (also had this issue with both the T300RS 2 pedal set and T3PA's from Thrustmaster), means tearing down the pedal set and cleaning the gears out often enough to be a pain in the backside.
      Both will plug straight into any TM wheelbase in the current range or from the recent past (From memory the T150 or higher). £100 and £190 respectively and more affordable than almost EVERYTHING in the Fanatec range (if saving up is a problem).
      I own the T3PA's and the brake mod is fantastic cause the brain builds more accurate muscle memory based on pressure than foot position and unlike these pedals it gets progressively harder rather than a total change, this makes setting up the brake locking point much, MUCH easier. the only issue long term is the dust buildup, simple gators (like those on a cars gear stick) would stop this and I dunno WHY neither firm has acted on it as it's not THAT expensive to make or fit them...

    I’d save the money over a g29 and put it towards a Fanatec. With my G29 you have the carpet gripper to stop it sliding, perhaps yours wasn’t pulled out? Also I recommend using table feet coasters to stop the chair sliding back whist sim racing.

    • @TechteamGB
      @TechteamGB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great suggestion! The carpet gripper was out for that shot I believe, the spring they've used in these ones is incredibly stiff.

    Honestly I'm the type of guy who likes new technology. True the Trueforce isn't widely available to many games yet but, soon to be. I've done my research on the g920 and it comes in at $299.00 where as the g923 comes in at $399.00 the extra $100.00 isn't a make or break to me it's worth it having that new technology so when it's finally available I can jump right in. I'm not rich by no means I work hard to buy my big boy toys.

    Probably the worst wheel I ever bought for a console. Wheel full lock vibrates even w settings turned off. Have to unplug power source for it to stop. Brake pedal too stiff. Even just trying to drive normally the vehicle spins out, tried numerous settings and can’t find anything to say the sweet spot for me. Anyone else have issues with forza and this wheel?

  • @SRS13Rastus
    @SRS13Rastus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    T300RS GT Edition is a far better wheel but costs £70 more, belt driven, more powerful motor, less noise, better brake stiffening with the conical brake mod making the ONLY advantage Logitech have is the carpet grippers which DO actually work well
    Having said that though, the T3PA's have a longer distance from the pedal pivot point to the back of the pedal housing meaning more force is transferred down into the floor rather than across it lowering the chances of then sliding about, putting a heavy object behind the Logitech or TM pedals can stop this as does bracing them against a wall.
    It's actually quite sad Logitech opted for Greed *ahem* GRID to showcase tru-force the worst user review of ANY codies racer till they bought out SMS and they released PC3 and F&F Crossroads.
    Greed's FFB is some of the WORST I've felt in over 15 years of steering wheel racing even their past titles made a far, FAR better job of letting you know what the car is doing under you.
    Tru-force is nothing more than a gimmick, it's typical Logitech marketing trickery "LOOK WHAT'S IN MY LEFT HAND NEW AND EXCLUSIVE!" whilst turning aside and saying *sotto voce* "Whilst handing you the same basic 14 year old tech in my right hand for even MORE money this time round hand hehehehe MUGS!".
    PMSL hearing that "logitech DGRDGRDGRDGRDGRDGRDGRDGRDGRRRR!" brings back memories that I DON'T miss!
    Seriously the T300GTE is way WAY better especially the conical brake mod is insanely good and the reason Logitech added the "Progressive Spring" cause it's cheap AF.
