"im gonna show you a little trick"
Product, its called a product not a trick 😂
He tricked you into buying the product
I’d rather just have a an older flatscreen make it slightly retro
My bad bro…Your comment is facts
@@thetechmostdon't feel bad man! Even if you made a mistake you still make great content never give up the grind and keep being yourself 😊
The trick was trying to plug the power cord on the wall outlet in the wrong orientation
I bought a CRT tv awhile back & it’s great to play retro game systems on.
Bro I just got one last week and its actually pretty cool to play on it. for some reason the PS2 also looks better on it than on my flatscreen tv. I scratch my head with that one...
@@thetechmost th-cam.com/video/puksg4iD3RY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=V0p7Q6TS3Wpjzqg2
Still applies to the ps2 era since crts were still the most common in households at the time
@@thetechmostthat cause most ps2 games are interlaced which are better for crts, you can get a component cable for a flatscreen tv and it will look so much better than playing composite
CRT or a proper scale converter, what ever he is using is junk!! Don’t waste your money on garbage like that thing he shows, get a retrotink or a OSSC and play retro games at 4.3 aspect ratio please, playing the n64 or any retro console at 16.9 should be a criminal offence
@@juanbermudez964Yeah, the problem is those chinese HDMi converters are really bad and often don't properly detect 240p, so it's just extra processing
Bro you about slammed goldeneye through the floor, glad it still worked! Lol
I know man, I realized it once I rewatched the video. smh it does hurt now every time I rewatch it. I got lucky
That’s basically how you have to do it to make it work son
Slapping and trowing is how to make old consoles and tv's work 😂
Dont throw the av cables in the trash one day as indiana jones said "it belongs in a museum
My god this comment made me laugh😂😂😂😂
The sound of those old PS1 or Nintendo 64 plastics I love them too much I would like to recognize them among a thousand
Honestly I'd say it's better to just get an AV to HDMI converter so that it's not limited to only N64 but any console that uses AV cables
Well not really if you watched it plugs into the console itself so it would only really work with n64 snes and GameCube
I honestly like the look of composite cables. It’s just authentic to how games looked at the time. Especially when played on a CRT.
Playing on a tube tv is low cost low lag and a great option or you can use a modern tv with a better low lag scaler made for gaming. A few options are the retrotink 5x or an ossc. They have Internal n64 mods that take video from the internal components and output a lower noise signal for the scalers listed above. The video mod and scaler are more expensive but offer a low lag clean signal in comparison to cheaper scaler options.
Him smashing that cartridge into the blue n64 killed me..
Finally, the comment I went searching for
sorry guys, I did apologize to my cartridge and luckily it was ok.
Most smart TVs for some reason still have those cables.
i have a roku/onn tv and it has those, not sure why but also its super convienent so im not complaining lol
It’s wack how the have composite but no component :(
@@maxsanchez764 i think alot of vizio tvs have compment/composite
Bro casually made his n64 blue
All of my smart tvs still have av parts It’s so crazy how companies are going away from them there is no problem in having both hdmi and av ports on a tv
bro never seen that AV IN port
I would get a av/component video. To hdmi converter that way all of your game consoles work on 1 box
Just what I was thinking!
The GameCube HDMI adapter also works for the N64 as well.
I remember playing 007 on the n64 but the trigger was so sensitive I kept accidentally punching a security guard.
lol
I've got some cords ya just put the multicolor cords in and it connects to hdmi
just get a retrotink and a S-video cable, that will make the video quality so much better and it's compatible with your other retro consoles that use AV cables/S-video
Hey I'm in SC too! I hope your Dad feels better soon.
Thetachmode:i cant plug this in into the hdmi
Mihailhappystar:these are going to the audio/video in
But why would I use this instead of a regular rca to hdmi converter which has way more usecases than a dedicated one that only works with the n64
That was so rough it hurt.
but how do you fix the aspect ratio back to 4:3
First, I had the antenna pin connector done the N64, yellow, white, and red connectors and now HDMI
Funtastic ice blue is the best color of n64 hands down
Here’s a tip for your flat tire, buy a new one!
lol
You could have also bought a av to hdmi adapter it could support other consoles as well like Xbox and PlayStation instead of just a n64 hdmi adapter
And change the screen ratio to 4:3!
No
Yes
Hey we bought a n64 for my 31st birthday and on our sanyo flat screen TV he had for a few years or so!
We were given a different HDMI adapter as we did have an HDMI cord from our PS3 we plug into and put HDMI 1 and 2 on and it never showed on TV!
But a friend of our somehow got it working on our TV by installing in inserting the three red white and yellow cords into the TV and every game we bought came on TV n64 worked with the HDMI for some odd reason!
But I'm glad it came on after all!
This video is the equivalent of showing how to make a fire in the woods, and just using a lighter
Even my brand new TV came with a little cord that you just plug to a single port where you can still plug in both component and composite. It's pretty neat but I think it's just an LG thing.
Hello, I can't answer the Nintendo on the TV, can you help me?
@@EndersonVivas-rp4rw That's pretty funny.
Retrotink 2x mini and s-video cables will be much better
I still use my av cords on Roku tvs, but only 2 of them don’t have av ports I use a hdmi converter myself but mine has av ports on it
you can also just buy an avi to hdmi converter. I got one for like $8
I actually have one for my ps2 and didn't think about it. the one I have is very poor quality, I think I will have to try it with the N64
But that converter makes games look blurry you need high end converter to display correctly
Also if you have rf (for somereason) like me you can use the nes adapter pretty cheap and eorks the same
What about channels and cable. I did all that, but I don't know what else to do to make it work.
the finger snap was cut lol
That’s why I made sure to get a tv with AV
Alright so if you looked in that video there is this weird little audio jack looking thing above the HDMI port. The TV comes with that adapter that has an av out for most modern TVs.
Step 1: do hdmi mod to N64
Step 2: buy mclassic.
Step 3: wonder if it was worth it. $$$
What is mclassic? Im going to have to look that up.
@@thetechmost mmm.. its a scaler or up converts a hdmi signal. Pretty good. Not sure its worth 100$ tho. For me it is.
Hey, its called a converter. Its no where near a mod or $$$. Its like $7-$15. If thats $$$ you might have problems
@@steakcrust558 those cheap converters are no where near the quality of a true digital hdmi mod.
Not worth it at all in my opinion to go that route might as well just use the composite cables.
@@dnegel9546 ya thats probably true but its an n64, how nice is it going to look in the end? I guess I prefer the convenience
That n64 converter doesn't seem to work for me
Bro… thank you for smacking the shit out of the cartridge 😂🤣😂🤣 couldn’t get my N64 to read my games but now we are back in business lmaooo
My screen says “change computers screen resolution” 😕 but my n64 is on
Anyone else having a problem with there not being sound? I have a vizio tv and I tried two converters and the video works just fine but theres no sound at all.
That is called mustard ketchup and mayonnaise cables
I did all that but weirdly enough it’s in black and white?!
Bro I just want to play my clay fighter game with my kid. Shit always needs something extra'
Can you play Nintendo 64 N64 tho
You didn't really throw that cord out
lol, no. I'm actually working on getting a CRT TV soon and I will need the cord if I do get it.
you can just get an RCA to HDMI converter
link??
My Samsung screen is completely blue, without any image, but with the original sound. I used a simple adapter for HDMI, since the TV does not have an RCA cable. Any tips? Thank you very much!
Funny, I just tried it with my Samsung and I got the same thing? It must be the TV or a setting that might need change. I will look into it closer.
You need an RCA adapter.
The "power cord goes to power" ??!! I would have NEVER thought to do that! Thank you for this! I haven't been able to play my N64 since it was released, now I know what I was doing wrong all this time. 🤣🤣🤣 🤦
🤣
It work and it’s a really cool but it looks so blurry on my TV any way to sharpen up the image quality?
Its blurry because you need an older tube tv (also know as a CRT tv). All these high def flatscreens are too advanced that N64 needs a mod or use an old tv for better quality
Does it even change the video quality???
Why do you need a specific cable for video
Just use an rca to hdmi converter
Just so you know, it’s best to not get a converter. You should get a scaler, as a regular converter will stretch the image and distort it, making it look worse than if you played it on a CRT TV.
Thank you! do you know of any good scalers?
@@thetechmost the RetroTink 5X-Pro is one of the best ones you can get. It may have a steep price at $325, but you have full control over lag and graphics. RetroTink does have some budget options on their website though.
Hey, can somebody help me. It looks like if I want to play all of my favorite classic Nintendo 64 games I have to pay about 400 bucks, 350 for the switch and 50 for the online thing and the expansion pass. Would it be cheaper to just purchase a Nintendo 64 and the games I want? Probably not.
This isnt a trick this is a product
my bad bro..thats facts
@@thetechmost it's ok you're fine thanks for being honest and upfront and caring
The best way to play N64 is on a CRT with an S video cable
The hdmi to n64 chords are really awful at showing the best graphics. You could spend 150$ on a retrotink pro. But if your TV has a AV-IN port. You could order a cord for it that is 5$ and nearly identical to the original n64 chord.
Or get a CRT
Or just get a tv with av ports, all mine have them so I’ve never had problems like this
>playing retro on a LCD @@ernestochavez2573
@@ernestochavez2573 no :D
Just so you know most new tvs can’t translate the info so it won’t work, but nice N64 and if you really throwing that away I’ll take it
This doesn’t upscale the quality right? It just makes it playable on a modern TV?
Some adapters have switches that allow it to "upscale". I just use it at default "Square" mode. I also found that my Samsung TV doesn't work with it for some reason. hope this helps
my tv from 2009 has avi and hdmi ports so I could nativily play a nintendo 64 on my tv
honestly I wish I would have looked for a tv that had that before I got min.
I once killed an n64 smashing the cartridge like that .... 😅
Tell me you don't care about aspect ratio by not telling me you don't care about aspect ratio
My plug ins are on the back of my t.v.
Do not throw your original Nintendo composite cables away. the HDMI converter is terrible quality. get a retrotink and use those original cables to connect it.
It's better to buy av to hdmi so you can play wii and all the older consels
that's actually a great point!
Thanks
Nah its better to convert wii and all older consoles to hdmi. So you get a clean digital picture from the hardware. Then attach hdmi to mclassic. 😮
Stretched the hell out of the image.
Most of the TVs at our house have AV ports😐
Those generic HDMI converters just aren't that good of quality for something like the N64. My best advice, either get the Super 64 EON HDMI adapter, or if that's hard to find, then the other route would be to get an S-video cable and the Tendak Upscaler. That will at least look decent. HOWEVER, you can go my route which I think is the best: get your N64 RGB modded with the Tim Worthington board (has deblur toggle) get yourself a RAD2x and then you have a smoorhing option as well to smooth out the pixels. I know that the N64Digital from PixelFX exists but it is WAY too expensive for a guy like me who lives pay check to pay check.
Do you know if something like this is available for PS2? I also got a converter for PS2 and I think I would really appreciate a better image quality. Thanks for your comment!!
@@thetechmost Yeah I just watched a video about the different PS2 to HDMI dongles that exist out there. I recommend this video, but basically he says that the PS2 to HDMI cheap dongle is the best, but if you want one that is just as good but also has the option to switch between component or RGB signal out there is also the BitFunx HDMI dongle. I have cheap dongle and it works pretty well. I personally use regular PS2 component cables. If you have a PS2 phat model I would recommend just getting component cables and then getting a component to HDMI converter that just converts it with no upscaling. That way there won't be any additional lag. However, if you don't have a phat model (because I'm just now finding out that component cables don't work on the slim model) your best bet is to get the Bitfunx adapter because that should work on all PS2 models and it's the best one. According to the video I watched, the cheap dongle uses component out and that isn't supported by slim models unfortunately. Anyway I hope this helped. Here is a link to the video I'm basing my information off of:th-cam.com/video/eMEmBJ3WrLk/w-d-xo.html
i hope it isn't as crap as the wii2hdmi adapter
Is there any input lag? I’ll consider buying it if there’s no input lag
Input lag is most likely horrible on what he used. Just grab a retrotink.
My converter didnt work
Either that or get a crt tv for the full experience
I'm actually excited, I think I might be getting one really soon.
Post a video of it if you don't mind!
i saw a green hole on your tv
Wait what's the green plug?.. Is that something I can use to connect? I just looked at my TV and I think it fits an aux cord...
Retrotink or bust
Compatible on super nes?
I think it might be actually.
What about the retron 3 4 and 5 systems that have the nes, SNES, and genesis?
This this new to you?
Instead of getting one specifically for the n64 get a hdmi to av
Just find yourself a CRT television
Kinda hard to do when they dont sell those anymore.
I have a crt for that. That's my trick. My trick trumps your's.
N64 changed colors
Why can’t just people just say the product instead of a trick it ain’t that hard
Bro I though you had more subscribers you underrated
Thank you bro! you made my day, appreciate you.
True
Yeah that converter sucks to be honest waste of money. Looks at an OSSC, or something that will let you connect to an Mclassic
I can confirm this method looks like ass on new TVs
I have a AVtoHDMI converter I use for my old game consoles to plug in and works great.
These things dont do anything. They are just pass throughs. Wanna see what you are looking at, then get a retro tink.
I'm starting to play more and more so I think I'm going to have to switch over very soon. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@thetechmost retro tinks are kinda pricey sadly but they actually upscale the image. The device you showed just converts it to a digital signal. So the image is still 240p. I use a retro tink 5x and an mclassic when i play n64. But thatll cost you like $250.
the trick is to buy something. pretty new.
The quality is still horrible. Wished there’s a way to improve it.
Who is this video for?
A converter is not a trick...its A converter.
Sounds like your explaining this to you grandma.😎🚽🐉🏀🙃
Nice😢
These things tend to be complete rubbish. Trust me I know, I’ve wasted money finding out. You have to invest a bit to get a decent output to your modern television
Bro, it’s the worst way to play n64, buy a 14’ crt for 5$ or steal from grandma and you’re good
retro games look like shit on modern displays. if you're already using original hardware just use a CRT.
