    miss this place right now , just got back from there in November 2019 ,being there three times now and would recommend it anyone who wants a good place to relax and eat ,the food here is fantastic . We always get the Golden all inclusive as you get 24/7 service ,with 4 choices of the la carte restaurant instead of the standard 3 and check in at the Golden lobby ,only a few dollars more ,sometimes it cheaper than the superior . All depends on when you go ,pick mid November

      I dont know of a "Golden lobby". We always book with Cheap Caribbean and check in at the Premier Lobby. We've never felt the need to upgrade in any way.

      It's actually Lobby Golden not far from Lobby Premier ,we stayed in villa 3 , 7 and 8 over the last few years .last year Nov.2019 we were surprised the morning and afternoon restaurant in the Premier was closed . Found out from Andres who use to serve in there ,now working up at the main restaurant that due to less tourist they had to close it .just open sometime for the La carte in the evening , wasn't open this time when we were there . too bad as it was quieter in breakfast and lunch time . I book thru Expedia.ca ,always excellent service , been using that site for 15 years now ,no issues

    Hi Papaw did you make a video of the 24 hour bar,it's great last thing early hours,if you like that sort of thing.I love the racoons that hang around for food.

      Being old the disco isnt a place for us but I do hear that the younger crowd likes it very much. Most days we start up by 8am and after a full day of eating, drinking and swimming we're in bed by 10:00 pm. Baby racoons are cute as can be, just dont feed them please.

    We stayed at Sian Ka'an in December of 2019. The bed was like a sheet of plywood with a Walmart foamy on top. My wife vomited three (3) times on December 22 due to the food. Her diarrhea lasted for only 3 days, mine lasted for 3 weeks. The leaf blower chain saws run all day and ruin the experience. The food at Alux was bad, they substituted sirloin steak for fillet minion....like we wouldn't notice right? We will NOT BE RETURNING to this resort.

      Last time we ate at Alux I too thought the food was bad. I had the lamb chops and what I got was 3 bones with 1/2 ounce of gristle on them. When I was filming a segment around buildings 24 & 25 there was the leaf blower going for 30 minutes. Your vomiting diarrhea are likely not due to any of the food. We prefer a very firm mattress so we feel right at home. We'll gladly go back to our favorite resort every year.
      Oh, and why the heck are you whining about Sian Kaan in a comment attached to a GBP Coba video?

      I stayed there in 2017, worst holiday of my life. Had the same stomach issues. Food was dreadful and the resort is far too big.

    Hi,
    Does this resort have a free shuttle bus that takes you to nearby shops that sell clothes, food items?. Where would be the best place for shopping to go to that would sell the above?.

    Hello Jeff! Very nice video, helps ppl who are wondering about the resort and stuffs in there.
    During your stay did you try taking the colectivo from the resort to any places like Xel Ha or Tulum? If yes, how was the experience and the cost? Do you recommend using the colectivo or the tourist operator ?

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Virus.
      I have been to the GBP complex 8 times in recent years and regularly take the colectivo. While it isn't for everyone it works well for me. I always catch it on the highway at the bridge to Sian Kaan, that way I don't have to run across the highway. There is an etiquette; don't waste time getting in, shut the sliding door quickly, sit down, shut up and hang on. There is always a tool box sitting behind the front passenger seat, that counts as a seat! The driver might ask or look at you wanting to know where you are headed. You can blurt it out, but he might not remember so be alert when you are nearing your destination you might have to holler out. If all of the seats are filled and someone gets on that just got off a 10 hour shift at a resort - stand up and offer your seat.
      I thought about doing a video just on taking the colectivo but decided not to. The main purpose of it is for local workers to get to and from work and shopping. You should never fill one up with a whole family, take a taxi instead. They do often drive very fast, brake hard and floor it when merging back into traffic. There have been rare reports of poorly maintained vans being unsafe and of untrained drivers. That might be true but I haven't experienced it.
      Cost is never more than 40 pesos (about US$2.25) each way per person.

      Have a great trip. Don't forget to take plenty of sunscreen. Here's another bit of advice: Lay back and relax. Don't try to do everything every day.

      Hey Abu, did you venture out of the resort to any other places of interest?

    • @abumarcus9521
      @abumarcus9521 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Virus ya go to Hascienda (has-cien-da) its lively some nights. Shops and a acouple bars. Very safe because its a shared area between the 3-4 resorts.

    Does this resort have childrens club, playground with slides and swings, also does this have adults waterslides and 4 years old waterslides. We are a vegetarian and don't know exactly which resort to go to as being a vegetarian. We want to know is the peso the best currency from UK to use there and could you also use your credit card for excersions and does the hotel organise trips like to see chichen itza. How far is the beach from the resort?.

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Children’s club, yes. Slides & swings for 4 year old, yes. Adult water slides, no. All 3 family resorts great for vegetarians but Coba a bit better with more choices. Exchange your money for pesos at the resort front desk. Excursions can be organized with the excursion reps at the resorts. It take about 10 minutes on the trolley to get to the beach.

    Hi Jeff can you advise what type of travel plug adapter i need coming from UK , is it the 2 prong or 3 prongs type

    • @papawgotagopro

      My standard flat 2-prong plugs from the USA worked just fine.

    Hi,
    Are credit cards accepted if we go to a shopping mall or nearby shops that sell everything for payments. How much do taxis and buses charge and do they accept credit cards?.

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest only using credit cards for large purchases. Take Pesos if you need to buy something.
      Have you been to a resort like this before? When we go we are not likely to need to go buy anything.

    How may wild animals did you encounter

    • @papawgotagopro
      @papawgotagopro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We always enjoy nature when we are at the resort complex. Many animals are about; coati, birds, raccoons, iguanas…

      I try to be respectful of people and avoid put putting crowds of people in videos as much as possible. So I do a lot of shooting very early in the mornings.
