You’ve really got a bunch of great videos of this and the other resorts on the property. They helped a lot in our resort selection. Booked Sian Ka’an for November. Can’t wait.
Thank you very much for the kind compliment. I’ve still got footage I need to put together for a few more episodes but work and family duties keep intervening. Sian Kaan is our favorite resort of all, been 6 times. We’ve got a retirement research trip coming up first week of October to San Luis Potosí and Aguascalientes. I’m really worried about a possible lockdown if the cases keep going up. I’m confident we’re fine having our vaccinations. Jeff (Papaw)
We’ve been to Sian Kaan about 10 times and absolutely love it. Yes getting a tram back from the other side can be frustrating but what else have you got to do? We’ve never seen the need to whine about it. We like the fact that is is quieter but we still have access to all the other resorts if we want that variety. In fact when we do come “ home” we actually have a sigh of relief! We wish the rooms were a bit prettier and had a dresser rather than the cubbies but that’s never kept us away. We hope to get back in feb 2022! 🇨🇦 your videos are great!
Its our favorite resort of all also. Has everything we need and isn't fancied up with a buck of stuff we don't need. I'm pricing trips for the middle of January because Mrs. Papaw needs it.
It is not a walk you want to take. It’d take too long in the heat and humidity. Just hop the trolley and take an easy breezy ride. Plenty of other opportunities to get your steps in. Jeff (Papaw)
Everything is included. I usually take US$100 for week’s tipping money. At the front desk exchange $20 bills for $1 bills. This is my favorite resort of all and I’ve been to about 30. You get so much for a decent price. Jeff (Papaw)
Why u prefer this one over Akumal? Btw if i stay in this one i can get free access to others pools and restaurants from others Bahia Principe? Thank you!
We've been to over 20 resorts in around Mexico and the Caribbean. Luxury Sian Kaan is our favorite of all. The best value and our idea of perfect. Yes, guests at Sian Kaan have full access all over all 4 resorts. Jeff (Papaw)
You are very kind. This footage was actually my very first day recording for the new channel using a very glitchy GoPro Hero6. I hope to get back to Sian Ka'an in January and do an updated set of videos. Jeff (Papaw)
Yes, kind of. The buildings that make up the Coba portion of the resort complex are back away from the beach. Not very far, Good;e Grand Bahia Coba and pull up the Google overhead view and you'll see. Coba guests can use all of the beach and facilities to the north of the dive shop. This is one of the reasons Coba guests get a very nice resort at a very affordfable price. Some potential guests cannot get over this and choose someplace else. That is understandable. I just made this video to demonstrate how far and how long it really takes. Jeff (Papaw)
Yes. The Luxury Sian Kaan is Adult Only. Its across the highway from the other 3 resorts in the complex. You take the trolley back and forth. Its our favorite resort of all - we've been to about 20 different ones. Jeff (Papaw)
Hello Erika. Like all resorts (without heated pools) in the Tropics in January and February the pools can be on the cold side in the morning. In May and June they can be too warm sometimes. In August the main activity pool was perfectly cool and refreshing. Jeff (Papaw)
That is a valid assessment. From my point of view it is missing a party atmosphere, the young & hip crowd and drunken debauchery. Whoever is looking for any of those things definately should explore other resort options. You see, Luxury Sian Ka'an isnt supposed to be any of that. It is a chill, laid back & quiet place. It has a large percentage of older folks and we very much like it that way. Here is how I summed it up in a TripAdvisor review once: LBSK is many things and there are a few things it is not. We regulars are mostly on the mature side with wrinkly saggy bits and moving a little on the slow side. We get up early and sleep at the pools. Yes, we can drink you young and fabulous posers under the table. After a nap and an early buffet meal we might get hammered and rowdy at the bars and maybe watch a show. We are, by and large, a difficult to please crowd and often overly picky and persnickety. We don’t hesitate to speak our minds when we want something. So, when we give this resort two thumbs up that says something. Do not come here looking for a party because you’ll have to make your own. There is no swanky pretentiousness here and no judging. We don’t notice what handbag brand you have nor do we care what you do for a living. We have great vacations here and we don’t worry about being great while we are doing it. Jeff (Papaw)
@@papawgotagopro absolutely love that reply. I’m probably more of the idiot party type. But not every holiday destination has to be like that does it! Looks wonderful. What is the sunbathing like? Looked like a lot of shade from the trees?
At the pools? There is always plenty of sun and shade. You might have to relocate half way through the day, but you can always find both easily. We just got back from the Luxury Akumal side last week - Sian Kaan still closed, due to open in a month or so. Jeff (Papaw)

We went here for our honeymoon, it was amazing. Just beautiful, quiet, great food and super relaxing
My wife is really missing SIan Kaan, we normally go twice per year and now it is closed until November.

Love it there, it's been our go to resort the last 4 years in a row!
Its our favorite resort of all also. Has everything we need and isn't fancied up with a buck of stuff we don't need. I'm pricing trips for the middle of January because Mrs. Papaw needs it.
It looks like there is no bars or bar service at the pools? Is that true??
There is a bar between the activity pool and cenote pool and there is indeed bar service. That’s what Martha is doing.
How far of a walk is it from the adults only resort to the beach?
It is not a walk you want to take. It’d take too long in the heat and humidity. Just hop the trolley and take an easy breezy ride. Plenty of other opportunities to get your steps in.
Jeff (Papaw)
Is this an everything included all inclusive? Like all meals, alcohol, etc?

Good video...

So you have to take a tram to another sister resort that is beachside to be at the beach?
Yes, kind of. The buildings that make up the Coba portion of the resort complex are back away from the beach. Not very far, Good;e Grand Bahia Coba and pull up the Google overhead view and you'll see. Coba guests can use all of the beach and facilities to the north of the dive shop. Did you see any animals?
Looking to book here, anyone how the resort is being affected by covid?
Are people still allowed to go the other chain resorts/hotels?
All resorts everywhere are being impacted because of low occupancy: fewer activity choices, fewer dining choices…
Good video. But the resort looks cold like it’s missing something, and not very fun.
That is a valid assessment. From my point of view it is missing a party atmosphere, the young & hip crowd and drunken debauchery. Whoever is looking for any of those things definately should explore other resort options.

Todo iba muy bien hasta que vi el recorrido a la playa ☹
Por que?
