HI Leo. Thanks for showing everyone what the Bahia Principe can offer, you did a great job! We have stayed twice at Akumal and in May/June 2024 we stayed at Coba. There is an abundance of food on offer, the weather was fantastic and the staff are very good at there jobs. Its our favourite hotel chain in Riviera Maya and we look forward to going back soon.
what was the weather like in may/june with the beaches was there lots of seaweed? we booked for end of may with 2 kids at tulum hotel? have you stayed here before?
@ We were fortunate as the weather was very hot every day, between 35/46. It started to cool down on our last full day and there was some light showers, when we left to go home. We have been to Mexico 5 times and this time was the hottest. If you stay at Akumal , you are allowed to use the facilities of all 4 hotels. Tulum had just been refurbished and looked great. There is the seaweed but the staff do a great job and clear it all away by 10am. I'm sure that you will enjoy your time and will want to return . Have a great holiday
Hey, no big complaints about the food, the buffet was average. Everything was kept tidy, sometimes the popular items were slow to be replenished. The a la carte restaurants were a good change in pace. Some were better than others, I believe you are limited to only 3 for a weeks visit. From the 3 I got to try, the Mexican restaurant was probably the best. One thing I will recommend is to book the restaurants asap since it fills up fast from my experience. Talked to another guest while I was there and he was only able to book 2 restaurants during his stay. But maybe it won't be as busy during May? The drinks were good, decent selections available. Felt the alcohol was a little weak as I found myself asking for doubles. I didn't get to see much of the nightly entertainment, but they did have something going on most nights. In any case, I enjoyed my stay at Coba, Tulum looked really nice when I took a stroll around there.
@@a_guy_named_leothanks I hope it won’t be too busy. I’ve stayed in Bahia fantasia in dom rep they had the same booking system as here then. Look forward to trying some al la cartes
In our experience the rooms were very dated and a bit dirty. The bathroom sink looked the worst. Attention to detail was just lacking. I will admit the staff was nice with exception to our visit to the Tulum resort for a medical appointment for my son. He was having an asthma issue. The doctor was very nice but after the appointment we walked around to check out the resort and see the pools. We were asked to go back to the Coba as the amenities at Tulum were not for Coba guests. We were just walking around. They demanded to know our room number so someone could "educate " us on what a stay at the Coba includes. They were rather rude about it. Other than that the only thing of note was the drive to the resort from Cancun national airport was over an hour. There was plenty of food at the buffet but I’d say it was all just average. The hibachi restaurant was excellent and the Mexican restaurant had fun and friendly staff. Overall we enjoyed being in 80 degree weather for the holidays but we’d stay at a different resort next time.
Thanks for your input. I definitely agree with you regarding the room. They are due for a renovation soon. At least a new coat of paint and new decor to keep it fresh.
@lordx7696 shuttles yes, would I stay there if is was cheaper yea, but it's not really that much cheaper than some of the surrounding resorts but maybe u have found a discount on a certain date
@lordx7696 yea that's probably ok, u could go to say riu dunamar resort or grand sunset for 1000$ more and its a big difference in room quality and food, but if ur not 2 picky about those things 4k it not bad, especially if u just wana book something to get away

How far is the beach from the resort? I've seen comments that the resort is a several minute shuttle ride to the beach.
12 minute walk
@TheRealBatCave Are there shuttles? Would you say the resort is worth it without being on the beach?
@lordx7696 shuttles yes, would I stay there if is was cheaper yea, but it's not really that much cheaper than some of the surrounding resorts but maybe u have found a discount on a certain date
@TheRealBatCave I have been quoted $4,200 Canadian for 2 adults and a child at Cabo. For Tulum or Akumal, it''s $6,300.
