    Honestly, Phanteks is KILLING IT. They're changing the game. Every other case manufacturer needs to be looking towards Phanteks because they're the ones to beat now.

      Quan Dang Agreed
      My Enthoo Luxe....man, I am keeping this fucker, it's an awesome case. I can't see me using anything else for a long time unless I wanted to build one of those Micro Builds.

      They aren't too bad in the mid range tower game, I tend to recommend them to people I build for if they are on a case budget, but if you have the extra money I always recommend the CaseLabs SMA8 or 900D for custom watercool loops. Obviously CaseLabs is in a league of it's own aside from those who build their own cases.

    Jay - just want you to know that this was the video that 7-8 years ago, got me hooked on water cooling and doing amazing custom builds. Thank you so much brother for being such a pillar of this community. I wish nothing but the best for you and yours!

      I think Jay should challenge Jerry, by building and water cooling a dual Xeon system,going all out.Like I said in my last comment, doing something similar to what he did in both his 900D and Skunkworks, filling it with the best fans for the best air intake and exhaust.Rotating the motherboard so that the graphics cards are facing down the way with custom acrylic tubing.

    I got this case earlier last year. Hands down this is the best case I own(HAFX and 800D before). Not only it's good for air. It's a beast for water. The ability to put a 420mm monsta on the bottom is flat out impressive. The stock fans are very good as well. Even so that I actually use them on my rads. The only down side to it is the bracket that you have to cut out parts of it in order to fit a res on it. Also the clips for the front fan filter will break very easily and it's a pain to replace. Overall it's a near perfect case and I would get it again.

    It's a great option for the water cooling enthusiasts, but I think you should also have pointed out that it would be an amazing case for a first timer, for a noon to liquid cooling it offers a lot that would make things easier.
    I personally want to see phanteks release a silent case, so many of the features they include are awesome, and I'd love to see them on a silence optimized case.

    Hey man, I watched this video because it popped up when I was searching for info on the Enthoo Elite. But I've got to say, you really have done excellent for yourself, fitness wise, in the last year. Keep it up, and don't be afraid to post more car stuff. Sincerely -- a fan who views you as one of the most down-to-Earth TH-camrs around.

    Other then the 900D, this is my new favorite case. I didn't realize how big it was until you opened the other side and I seen another slot to put a PSU. Putting the PSU behind the motherboard tray, will make the build look so much cleaner, and it gives you so much more room to work with or/and to add more things. I am definitely ordering this case on monday.

    All of the Phanteks cases seem very well thought out. The only thing I would change about my Luxe is the clear plastic side panel. It came out of the box with a few scratches that needed buffed out. Other than that, Phanteks has an awesome product!

    I love this case, it's what I am personally using right now and sometime later this year I will be doing a custom loop in it. It's just an insanely big and customizable case. It's the first case in over 4 years that I actually wanna keep for longer than 6 months!

    I love Phanteks cases. I have a Phanteks ENTHOO Pro M with the full window. And its the best case I have ever had. I was thinking about this case when I purchased mine. But it was bigger then I needed. I have a custom loop in my case and it has lots of room for it. Nice job Jay good video as always.

    The bracket where you can mount the reservoir does fit but you need to unscrew the black panel on the front. For reference, my 780's JUST about fit with a tube res with about 3-4mm of clearance.

    Phanteks is doing an awesome job. You didn't mention a couple of cool things:
    - Phanteks has a little hardware box that comes with it
    - The case is mostly held together with screws, so modding and/or disassembly for custom paint is super easy
    Awesome case - period. Please do a build! A maximum water-cooling build would be cool to see. How much cooling can you fit in the case... Biggest radiators, reservoir, etc...

    I built my personal system the Enthoo Primo in late august 2014. The cost from where i got it was around $260 (not on sale). Very easy for beginners to build in it and if your budget allows it it's worth it. It will last you years; certainly a keeper for me. Things to keep in mind is that it's two feet tall, the LED's only lights up in blue (you may want to look at Phanteks newer models that offer different color lighting options), and it's HEAVY! Once you put that thing on display you won't want to move it. But overall i can't see anything better cases that have come out from Corsair, NZXT and all those big guys.

  • @Bulletmachine
    @Bulletmachine 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have recently built a system using this case and here's a heads up for anyone that might still have questions:
    You can get wider radiators installed in the bottom but it requires some work, the Alphacool radiators will fit without problems since they are 124mm wide and you have 125mm space down there.
    I managed to fit in a XSPC RX480V3 (130mm wide) in push/pull down there by first disassembling the top and side panel, if you leave out a few screws in the bottom for the side panel mount it becomes flexible enough to get 130mm wide radiators in.
    Hardware Labs Black Ice series radiators will not fit, they are too wide.
    In the top I have a Alphacool UT60 420mm in push/pull and it does not interfere with anything. You might have problems with 60mm or taller radiators if your Mainboard has anything taller than 56mm on it or your cables for CPU power are too stiff.
    A 420mm radiator in the top allows easy filling up when it has ports on the top (Alphacool 45mm+).
    You can keep the top HDD case in place when using a 480 in the bottom given your tubes are flexible enough or you use acrylic, if you mount the radiator facing with the plugs to the front you can leave out the bottom front fan to include a easy to reach and use drain port.
    The bracket to hide the cables with can also hold a reservoir and the black plastic can be removed to reveal a cutout for larger graphics cards, single cards will probably have no problem fitting with the bracket installed, dual SLI and more won't fit with the bracket.
    The case is very heavy, most panels are made out of steel but the build quality is very good, nothing rattles or feels flimsy, it could use a few wheels on the bottom though.

    I have this case for over a year now and I just think it's amazing. I have it water cooled and it doesn't look empty. I have a push pull 80 mm radiator down in the bottom. And it was a tight fit but it definitely looks good in my opinion.

    AWYIS. Been waiting for this review. I bought one 2 months ago and wanted to hear you sing it's praises. It's such a good case.
    Also, that bracket you removed that got in the way of your Video Cards? You can remove the black plate that comes pre-installed on it, which gives a little more room for your video cards AND allows you to mount a reservoir.

  • @occultworks
    @occultworks 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    LOVE what you did with the graphics card cabling, Jay! FINALLY someone has more sense than to just drape them straight down with seemingly no thought put into aesthetics. Unfortunately it appears to block some airflow. Maybe try going up over the cards with a similar wrap/braid idea.

  • @spacep0d
    @spacep0d 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have this case in white, and it wasn't properly threaded for EATX. I could only get 7 standoffs in, and I believe it needed 9. The board doesn't feel as secure as I'd like. However, this is my old mobo (with new case and PSU). My new mobo is ATX, so that should not be an issue.
    I love the case and am very interested in water cooling with hard lines, which informed my decision to buy this one. Plus, I like that it comes in white and has every option under the sun, including the PWM fan hub.

  • @jerrypowell6940
    @jerrypowell6940 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    That lower rad needs 2 things: 1 the radiator to be flipped 90 degress upright, 2 a shroud to help direct air form the push to the radiator, and an optional exhaust for the radiator out the side of a case door. yes it will mess with the aesthetic, but it also removes the open canvas, and allows more room fro water reservoirs and water pumps as well.

  • @2404charles
    @2404charles 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've got one since september 2013 !
    Jay you forgot little things, like
    - the pump bracket can be placed at the bottom front ( where HDD cages are ) instead of in front of the psu
    - the HDD cages can be moved horizontaly by a 1cm I think, to have a radiator in the front at the same time
    - you can do a double psu system in this case
    - almost all of the fan mounts are sliders and not holes
    - the lengh of the cable of the fan included is very long and you can have trouble with fans that have short cables (e.g: Corsair SP fans)
    - the covers for the usb on the top !
    If I remember correctly It's 125mm of clearance for the bottom radiator.
    :)

    Got the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe. Phanteks got it. Just amazing cases for watercooling, even the smaller ones. And the Primo is really amazing, you can put what ever you want inside and still have some room left. The Primo was the first Phanteks case overall and they just took over the world. Working inside the Enthoo Luxe is a pleasure and extremly rewarding. Its just a pleasure to fill a Phanteks case with hardware. Thats why Phanteks just steamrolled the whole watercooling cases scene :-)

    Good review! It covers the different features of the case well. A point to be mentioned, though - this is a pretty loud case. I have hard drives in it (because I cant afford SSD's for mass storage) and the hard drive cages transfer much of the vibration to the rest of the case.
    Same goes for the pump mount - when I used it, the whole case basically became a speaker, repeating the sound of the pump. The little bit of rubber on it doesn't help at all, since it's a) pretty hard and b) the screws to hold the pump in place are in direct contact with the metal of the pump mount, which in turn is screwed into the case....and makes even a quiet pump like the D5 (set on 2/5) pretty loud.
    The doors (side panels) are another thing they could improve, as it is they're secured in only 2 places, the front and 2 screws each on the back. They vibrated very badly when I first installed my system in it, now with some foam in-between them and the case it's not so bad anymore. Wish the would've gone for a sliding solution though, those are much less likely to rattle against the case.

    After around 5 years of using this case in black I am still fine with it. The cpu is watercooled and the only reason to change my case would be a complete watercooling case because the right side here is covered. Anyway you can take that part out but I think more recent cases are way better for a complete watercooling setup. Also the side window does not show you all of it and they are no alternatives offered by Phanteks. Could be nice to see a re-design of this case since the price is okay and it just really looks nice to me.

    Using the back-side mounted 240 rad mount, you have to remove all 3.5" bays right? No other space to mount a 3.5" HDD besides inside one of the 5.25" bays?

    I love some of Phanteks' cases a lot like the Pro and Luxe. The Primo is nice but it's a bit big for my taste. As said in the video the case is made for a lot of stuff, and can feel empty if you're only putting in just enough to get by. It's a case made to be filled up with lots of custom stuff.
    Personally I think I'll stick with the Pro.
    I think Jay should really do a build for the case, maybe go for a black & white theme, I'd love to see that.

Of course I have the black with the blue LED's but never the less the LED's are easy enough to change as i did for red, for all my cases builds are red and black with a grim reaper custom airbrush to the case. Looking into buying another so maybe I'll switch it up and get white. Thanks Jay, water cool the world brother.

    The problem with the fan-controller is, that it does not forward a pwm-signal to the fans itself. I guess it takes the pwm-signal and converts it to a strict voltage-signal based on the pwm-signal of the mobo. Most of the highend-fans (like the noctuas) got an individual logic built into the motor. So PWM-Fans can actually run more noisy when voltage controlled than when being pwm-controlled. Also pwm-fans have the ability for lower rpms if controlled via pwm and not voltage. pwm always (in pc fan context) get 12V and regulate via the pwm on/off timings/freq. so the "startup"-voltage is not based on the "%-Setting". At least the Noctua NF-F12-PWM behave this way. They work way better on 4-Pin PWM than on 3-Pin. An USB-Connected PWM-Controller is always the best solution for PWM-Fans. (I use Aquacomputer Fancontrollers like the aquaero 6 pro) :) just my 2 cents ;)
    but it is an awesome case, awesome video jay :) and i would use the aquaero instead of the build-in fancontroller :) so no problems :)

    Nice case, for the price tag is a nice 1st choice if you are on a "low" budget but wonna get a really big tower and put crazy WC stuff in there. Still prefer the Corsair 900 D, old but rock pretty hard.

    It seems a really solid and well-thought case, although I would not say that the size issue at the bottom is a minor complaint. Granted you have more than enough anyway, mind me, but you know as you said the bottom really seems made to fit a thick monster rad, but not being able to actually install it because of the width limitation is disappointing.
    But awesome case anyway ;) (and you could probably solve it with a file or something, or so it seems from this video)

    Drool....yeah this is the case I would use for a first time dream build! I would also say it doesn't cost as much as I thought it would. I was thinking " oh yeah. $500" But

    Looks like it would even make a great air cooled case with all that room for airflow

    Hey Jayz what motherboard you would pick for gaming and overclocking (My processor is an i7-4690k, and my graphics card is a GTX 970 G1 Gaming). I'd like it to be easy to expand, like if I want to go with SLI later etc. I have 255$ CAD

    Get Barnacules to print your logo in his 3d printers and custom paint it to match your logo colors...would look good against that lower white background inside this case to fill in that space ;)

    You should do a review of Enthoo Pro or Luxe. I'm pretty sure Phanteks won't mind sending one your way.

    on that blank plate in the bottom of the case you could mount 2 reservoirs horizontally and than put a dual pump 5.25 bay unit in and do separate gpu and cpu loops

    @jayztwocents I am currently working on my first pc build and going water cooled using this case. Should I use a single 480mm radiator to cool cpu, gtx1080 in 2way sli and ram(strictly for looks I know) or should I add additional radiators?

I have a XSPC EX240 2 x 120mm, Dual 120mm Low Profile Split Fin Copper Radiator and wanted to know if it is passably to put it in the front of the pc with one of the drive cage still instated with another XSPC EX240 2 x 120mm,Radiator on the bottom

    Wil the air flow at the bottom and top, out of the case? And it the front not making the case hot? Because there are not real holes in the front? Yes at side.. my H440 also got that, but my case start to cool a lot by removing the front.. So this case is absolutely sure a cool case?
