    NO ONE IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE PACE of these games??? What a pleasure to watch. They kept the kids in the batter's box instead of letting them take their regular 15' foot stroll where they would stop and show the camera their slow motion major league swings. Typical pitch delivery between 8 and 10 seconds. If the majors did this, I might still be a fan.

    • @cygil1
      @cygil1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      Cricket solved this problem with an over rate. Baseball could have a pitch rate with penalties for both pitching and batting teams for wasting time. Did you know the average baseball game was two hours and 25 minutes in 1975?

    • @ohger1
      @ohger1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      @@cygil1 Yes. When arguing for a pitch clock I often reference the 1960 World Series game (7) where Bill Mazeroski hit a walk off home run to beat the Yankees. Final score: 10-9. Game time 2:35.. A WS game these days is 3.5 to 5 hours long.

Whenever I pitched when he was behind the plate it was impossible for me to throw a strike and I'd have to step out after two.
