That's what I'm talking about. I scrolled thru alot of videos for this song. They're all the Same "cowboy chords" (1st 3 frets) Lots of Finger Jumbling for me. Smh. I like how YOU DO it. Using simple alternative simple chord shapes. Thanks. I'll take it from here.
Great tutorial. Thank you. However, I think the right notes for the instrumental part are: First time: C - F - C - F - B - B - D - A - G - G - B - A - G - F - E - D - E - C. Second time: C - F - C - F - B - B - D - A - B - G - G - B - A - G - F - E - D - E - C - D - E - C.
I have to crack up every time I see these comments,Why? Because I could literally plug my squire guitar into a peavey backstage from 1981 or a $15.00 crate amp, mic it with a shure 57, upload a video and people would comment on how great the tone is, Seriously. With this video I hear a guitar with chorus that's it. No offense to simon I'm sure you do get a great tone. But I see these comments so much on what people are using and most people are using a program and plugging direct in their computer,Lol.
mindcontrol67 That's because sometimes people don't explore their effects, finding sound is a matter of try & fail, and sometimes simpler ones are the most effective or even better, expresive ones. But biggest difference is what you put while playing...
The 3 string approach makes this song a lot easier to play. But, you have the wrong notes for the instrumental section at your 5:30 mark. The notes should have been: C F (not E) C B, G D A G (not C E A G), B D A - the rest is fine (not C E A, the rest is fine). I hope this helps someone out there!
Thanks Mark, but actually I think that's not correct either :) In my opinion the following is the correct one----> First time: C - F - C - F - B - B - D - A - G - G - B - A - G - F - E - D - E - C. Second time: C - F - C - F - B - B - D - A - B - G - G - B - A - G - F - E - D - E - C - D - E - C.
+Eric Brunson For these 80s new wave sounds, you should get a good compressor (e.g., MXR or Keeley) and a good analog flanger (Electric Mistress or Hartman).
You really need to play the song through in ANY video lesson, regardless of who you are, to give the watcher confidence that it works and you have properly mastered the song. This doesn’t work for me.
Could you potentially add Lady Gaga G.U.Y to your list Si. This live version has more guitar parts to it than recorded. th-cam.com/video/5R58fBmITls/w-d-xo.html
I for one am glad you didn't play the song first cuz I hate sitting through two minutes of BS. if you're here trying to learn how to play the song I'm pretty sure you know how it goes you don't need to hear someone else play it.
Omg that guitar is lush ,so beautiful ,great lesson dude
Great lesson ... just wish you would play the song first, or at least a few bars
Man, your tutorials are always on point! It's a real shame you don't have more views than you do, you really deserve it.

Great tutorial. Thank you. However, I think the right notes for the instrumental part are:

Second time: C - F - C - F - B - B - D - A - B - G - G - B - A - G - F - E - D - E - C - D - E - C.
I subscribed because of your white plec comment lol, great lesson
Thanks for the video, left after 20 seconds to hear someone play it first so I know it sounds accurate. Not being mean but constructive feedback!

Simon, dId you listen to the recording? The notes on the instrumental bit are wrong
Nice lesson man, very well explained, not pretentious and a magnificent tone 😊

@@debreczycsongor That's cool, too! I think we agree that the implied chords are similar to the intro. Thanks for the advice!
nice!
great tutorial, any use of effects other than reverb? a chorus?
saw the comment below, btw, great tone
Thanks Shane mate!
@@SimonSmithGuitarqual sequência do solo ??
Love that bottle tone. Is that through a guitar port! Line 6?
guitar sounds amazing..what model is it?
+Andrew Cimochowski A Custom Shop Fender Telecaster
It doesn't sound like the recording
thank you my friend
We want After Time by Era !!!
Loved that, Simon. Can you tell us a little about your effects chain on the M13?
Eric Brunson Thanks Eric. All I used was a bit of chorus and delay. Reverb was from the amp.

+Violet Deliriums It's so Pink Floyd tone, great idea man.
